Abstract

A way to make people with coeliac disease able to eat a gluten-based food is by creating gluten-free food like taro flour based pasta with the addition of modified starches and hydrocolloids. In this research, the pasta were made by using the heat moisture treatment of modified starch of banana and potato were combined with taro flour with the proportion 0%:30%:70%, 7.5%:22.5%:70%, 15%:15%:70%, 22.5%:7.5%:70% and 30%:0%:70% and added with 0,5% of hydrocolloids such as xanthan gum, carboxyl methyl cellulose (CMC) and arabic gum. The results showed that the proportions of starches and flour were highly significantly different (p < 0.01) in protein content, cooking time, elongation and significantly different (p < 0.05) in crude fibre content. The influence of hydrocolloids addition was found to be highly significantly different (p < 0.01) in cooking loss, elongation; and significantly different (p < 0.05) in cooking time. The interactions of proportions of starches and flour and the addition of hydrocolloids were highly significantly different (p < 0.01) in crude fibre content, cooking time and elongation. The best spaghetti composition was based on cooking time, cooking loss, and elongation which could be found in the proportion of 15%:15%:70% of modified banana starch, modified potato starch, and taro flour with the addition of xanthan gum of 0.5%.

Abstract

Formalin merupakan senyawa kimia yang dimanfaatkan sebagai agen desinfektan dan agen bacterial yang baik. Namun banyak produsen atau pedagang makanan yang menyalahgunakan formalin sebagai pengawet makanan. Pada dasarnya, bahan makanan sebelum dikonsumsi menjadi makanan jadi maka bahan tersebut diolah terlebih dahulu melalui proses pemanasan dengan suhu rata-rata diatas 100 C. Sehingga formalin yang digunakan sebagai pengawet pada makanan akan mengalami proses penguraian. Maka perlu dilakukan uji stabilitas formalin dengan menggunakan metode spektrofotometri visible memanfaatkan pereaksi nash serta dilakukan pula evaluasi mengenai kinetika kimia formalin. Validasi metode dilakukan sebelum uji stabilitas formalin dengan mengukur absorbansi 3 seri larutan standar formalin dengan konsentrasi 2, 4, 6, 8 dan 10 mg/mL dengan prosedur sebagai berikut: 1 mL larutan standar formalin dengan 2 mL pereaksi Nash. Didiamkan selama 2 jam hingga kompleks senyawa diacetyldihydrolutidine (DDL) yang terbentuk menjadi stabil. Selanjutnya larutan formalin diukur absorbansinya pada panjang gelombang maksimumnya yaitu 412 nm. Suhu dan lama pemanasan mempengaruhi stabilitas formalin. Pemanasan pada suhu larutan 96C selama 40 menit dapat menguraikan formalin sebanyak 88,1%. Kinetika degradasi  formalin mengikuti orde reaksi 1 dengan tetapan laju reaksi sebesar 0,053 mg/mL menit dan waktu paruh selama 13,08 menit.formalin, stabilitas, suhu pemanasan , lama pemanasan, spektrofotometri visibel.formalin, stabilitas, suhu pemanasan , lama pemanasan, spektrofotometri visibel.

Abstract

This research was conducted in Pagai island, Mentawai Island regency, which was aims to find out: 1) Index of threat earthquake disaster, 2) Index of population that exposed the earthquake disaster, 3) The threat level of earthquake disaster in Pagai Island. The method used in this research was descriptive with a quantitative approach and the data used was secondary data obtained from relevant agencies. The results showed that the threat index of earthquake disaster which was affected by the distribution of PGA with a range of values ??between 0.342 - 1.477 gal. The classification of earthquake hazard index in this study is in two classes, that is index class of high threat of peak ground acceleration with a&nbsp; range of values ??between 0.706 - 1.477 gal found in South Pagai District, Sikakap District and North Pagai District. While the medium threat index class with a range between 0.342 - 0.705 gal found in North Pagai District and Sikakap District. The index of population that exposed in Pagai Island obtained an index value of 0.6 which indicates the medium class category.

Abstract

The central theme of this research endeavour was to compute the cost and net returns of wheat crop. This study has also highlighted the significant variables contributing in wheat productivity. The study universe was two focused villages namely Malok-Korona and Peer-Qila of Ekaghund Tehsil, Mohmand Agency. The proportional allocation sampling technique was used to get the required sample size of 70 respondents. However, 26 respondents from Malok-Korona and 44 respondents from Peer-Qila were interviewed through face to face interview technique. The marked findings of this study divulge that vast majority of the farmers (61.43%) were using certified seed and the study area was predominantly dependent upon rainfall as reported by 60 % of the respondents. It is further revealed that the mean cost of production incurred by the sampled growers was estimated as Rs. 30,000 per acre. Income trend observed by 70 per cent of the respondent through wheat crop was found Rs.40000 per acre. The average income of farmers through wheat crop was Rs.35286 per acre. The estimated results of regression analysis corroborate the expected sign of the majority of coefficient of explanatory variables. Among explanatory variables seed, irrigation and labor days were significant while urea and FYM were found insignificant for crop yield. The study recommends that attempts for awareness, supply of loans, inputs like fertilizer, pesticide, apt agriculture approaches, demonstration plots and training programs should be made available to farmers for higher wheat production in Mohmand Agency.

Abstract

Penentuan nilai tegangan rata-rata melalui percobaan pengukuran tegangan DC dengan memanfaatkan Zelscope 1.0 telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat rancangan percobaan pengukuran tegangan DC dengan memanfaatkan Zelscope 1.0, dan menentukan nilai tegangan DC rata-rata dengan mengunakan rancangan percobaan tersebut. Metode pengukuran yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah dengan mengukur tegangan keluaran DC dengan menggunakan Zelscope 1.0 sebagai pencuplik data. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah perangkat lunak Zelscope 1.0 dapat digunakan untuk mencuplik data tegangan keluaran DC. Nilai tegangan rata-rata yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah sebesar 2,624360376 V dengan nilai simpangan baku sebesar 0,000971326.
