Abstract

This research is conducted based on the new idea of cultural contstruction regarding gender?s role between man and woman constructed into a soap opera entitled Dunia Terbalik where the role of both genders are switched, and thus very different from the dominant idea believed by Indonesian society which is patriarchy. The objective of the research is to describe the difference between media text meaning found in Dunia Terbalik soap opera and the meaning conceived by the audience. The researcher has to determine the dominan meaning by using textual analysis. The society acceptance while doing media text reading based on reception analysis argued by Stuart Hall. The finding of the research shows that all informant did the negotiated position regarding the exchanged role which is contructed in Dunia Terbalik soap opera. In the specific part they agreed about the switched role found in the soap opera, but in the some parts they disagreed. So, the gender?s role between man and woman which has been constructed all this time has been reshuffled because of the people?s acceptance about the switched gender?s role acceptance has slightly changed positively. Eventhough in this research female informant tend to respond toward the gender?s role switch more rigidly than the male informant. The female informant is still holding on the idea of man as breadwinner. The male informant is more openly accepting the idea of gender?s role switch and woman as breadwinner than woman did. Some informants also argued that there should be an equality of both genders so one does not become a burden to the other. Furthermore, the society background has become one sigificant factor that influencing the way the audience conceive and contruct the media text discourse.

Abstract

Phenolic compounds areorganic pollutants that are toxic and carcinogenic.The presence of phenol in the environmentcan be adverse to humanand the environmentalsystem. One methodthat iseffective toreduce thephenolisadsorption. In this study, the adsorption of phenol in aqueous solution using Ca-bentonite/chitosan composite was investigated. Chitosan is the deacetylation product of chitin from shrimp waste. Characterization of Ca-bentonite/chitosan composite was done by using Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) and Scanning Electron Microscopy-Energy Dispersive X Ray Spectroscopy (SEM-EDX). Batch adsorption studies were performed to evaluate the effects of some parameters such as initial concentration of phenol, composite weight, pH and contact time. The results showed that FTIR spectra of Ca-bentonite/chitosan composite presented the characteristic of peak of Ca-bentonite and chitosan that confirmed the successful synthesis of composite. The SEM-EDX characterizationresultsshowedCa-bentonite surfacecoverage by chitosanand the presence ofcarbonandnitrogenelementsinCa-bentonite/chitosancompositeindicated that chitosan had bonded with bentonite. The optimum condition of adsorption of Ca-bentonite/chitosan to phenol was obtained at 125 mg.L-1 of concentration in which the weight of composite was 1.0 g, the pH of solution was 7, the contact time was 30 minutes, and the capacity of adsorption was 12.496 mg.g-1.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Aterosklerosis merupakan cikal bakal terjadinya penyakit jantung dan stroke. Cangkang rajungan merupakan limbah yang dapat mencemari lingkungan, salah satu cara untuk mengurangi limbah tersebut adalah dengan mengolahnya menjadi kitin yang mampu memberikan keefektifan dalam penurunan kadar aterosklerosis. Tujuan: Membuat formula dan evaluasi sediaan emulsi o/wkombinasi limbah cangkang rajungan dan ekstrak kelopak rosella sebagai anti-aterosklerosis serta melakukan optimalisasi formulasi dengan metode simple lattice design (SLD) dan uji evaluasi sediaan emulsi o/wkombinasi limbah cangkang rajungan dan ekstrak kelopak rosella sebagai anti-aterosklerosis. Metode: Metode Hong Pada Cangkang Rajungan dan Metode Maserasi Pada Bunga Rosella. Hasil: produk pada emulsi limbah cangkang rajungan mempunyai sifat organoleptik, viskositas, dan pH yang baik dan optimal. Kesimpulan:  Formulasi emulsi campuran ekstrak etanol kelopak bunga rosella dan ekstrak cangkang rajungan dibuat dari bahan yang distandarisasi dengan formula replikasi 1 dan 2 kedua produk emulsi tersebut secara uji fisik memenuhi uji parameter yang ditetapkan. Formula emulsi memiliki bau, aroma dan warna yang hampir sama serta bentuk sediaan yang disukai karena terdapat warna cukup menarik, bau khas strawberry dan rasa yang manis. Serta pengujian pH yang baik, sudah mendekati pH netral 7 dan uji viskositas yang kental dapat diterima masyarakat.

Abstract

ASI (Mother's Milk) is a good source of nutrition for babies. One of the traditionalplants used to multiply and accelerate breastfeeding is katuk leaves. Katuk leaves have beenknown as traditional medicine efficacious as laktogogum or ASI enhancer (ASI). For thisreason, katuk leaves are made into a formulation of chocolate milk supplementation forbreast milk which is preferred by women. Objective: To determine the katuk leaf nutritionpreparation formula and the effectiveness of preparations as ASI (Mother's Milk). Method:This study used a one shot pre-experiment case study design with katuk leaf pollination andchocolate nutrition making, then tested the effectiveness of 10 panelists. The measurement ofASI volume is done 1 day before storing katuk leaf chocolate and the next 7 days afterconsuming katuk leaf chocolate. Results: The results of measurements of ASI volume wereanalyzed using the Mann Whitney test, where there were significant differences in ASI volumeor p <0.05. Conclusion: Chocolate nutaseutical product formulation from katuk leaves asenhancer for breast milk, ASI volume measurements were carried out for 1 days notconsuming katuk leaf chocolate and for 7 days consuming katuk chocolate leaves p <0.05 wassignificantly different. meaningless.
