Abstract

Kerebahan menyebabkan penurunan produksi tanaman padi. Tanaman padi tahan rebah dapat dihasilkan dari kegiatan pemuliaan tanaman. Tujuan penelitian adalah seleksi galur F4 tahan rebah.  Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Desember 2018 hingga Mei 2019 di lahan ultisol, Kabupaten Bangka, Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung. Penanaman galur dilakukan secara single plant. Metode seleksi yang digunakan adalah seleksi pedigree.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik galur F4 padi terseleksi memiliki tinggi tanaman kurang dari 90 cm. Terdapat 70 galur F4 terseleksi memiliki ketahanan rebah berdasarkan karakter tinggi tanaman dan didukung oleh karakter diameter batang, panjang malai, kekuatan batang, dan berat biji bernas per rumpun.

Abstract

Bangka Belitung Island has alot of degraded lands due to tin mining activities. Because the people do not use those for farming, the lands will be the places for unconventional mining continuously. Based on this situation, the researcher did some extension activities and tarinings which aimed to introduce LEISA technology to the farmers in the period of June-Desember 2009 in Kace Village, Mendo Barat Subdistrict, Bangka Regency. The results indicated that 73.81% of the participants strongly agreed and nobody disagreed to the implementation of LEISA in post-tin mining land. the percentage of public confidence to the success of LEISA program in increasing the farmers’ income was about 24.39% for the confidence level >81% and 36.59% for 61-80% of the confidence level. SWOT analysis showed  that government and security officials needed to guarantee the safety and the legal certainlyof agricultural development in post-tin mining land, and also needed to be a partnership among the farmers,  institutions, relevant organizations and government to help the fulfillment of the material and means of agricultural production that can not be supplied by the people independently.

Abstract

The aim is to find out the best combination of Murashige-Skoog (MS) media and Thidiazuron (TDZ) concentrations for promoting pineapple shoot growth. Planting material used in this research is a piece of axillar shoots from the Bangka local pineapple  that has been sub-cultured four times on media 2 mg/l BAP.  Research used the completely randomized design in factorial that consists of 3 levels of MS media (50%,75% and 100%) combined with 4 levels of TDZ (2 mg/l BAP (control), 0.1 mg/l TDZ, 0.01 mg/l TDZ and 0.001 mg/l TDZ).  Results showed that the use of 75% MS medium concentration gave the best effect on the variable of shoots appearing time (1.45 MST) and the shoots length (22.35 mm); the tabulation gives the highest average score on the variable number of shoots (6.44 shoots), explants percentage germination (97.22%) and number of leaves (8.6 pieces). The concentration of 0.01 mg/l TDZ gave the best effect of time for emerging shoots (1.51 MST) and the number of shoots (8.16 shoots). At concentrations 0.001 mg/l TDZ gave the best effect on the shoots length (28.07 mm) and number of leaves (11.12 pieces). The combination treatment of 75% MS medium and 0.01 mg/l TDZ provided the highest value for the time of emerging shoots (1.77 MST) and number of shoots at 8 MST (10.49 buds). The combination treatment of 75% MS medium with 0001 mg/l TDZ provided the highest value for the shoot length (31.22 mm) and number of leaves (11.88 pieces).

JLSO 5(1):18-26.Yield trials mutant gamma irradiation results important to know the genetic stability with regard to the potential yield. Mutants adaptability in many locations and seasons that can be known whether the mutant proper grown in mosttype soil in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the ability of the mutant rice brown rice adapasi iiradiasi results of gamma rays and power yield. The research was conducted in January-December 2015. Yield trials conducted in ultisol soil, Village Balunijuk, Merawang, Bangka. Multilocation test on three location in Indonesian is Jombang, southwest Bangka, Bangka, Lampung, Batu and pontianak. The results conducted on the land southwest Ultisol, Village Balunijuk, Merawang, Bangka.In the dry season from April to October 2015. The results yield trials conducted on 6 mutant to-7 (M7) and four varieties showed MR1527 has the highest yield and is not significantly different from the varieties echo lake and Inpago 4. The test results multilocation showed that the mutants were able to adaptation in West Bangka regency ultisol land, land ultisol in Pontianak, and land grumusol in Jombang, East Java, in the dry season.

Abstract

Germplasm diversity of local taro in Bangka as genetic resources for plant breeding purposes is still unknown. This research aimed to provide information on Bangka Taro?s variability and relationship for plant breeding programs. This research was conducted in December 2017 until February 2018. Characterization of the germplasm was performed on qualitative and quantitative parameters. Analysis of morphological relationships used the UPGMA method. Exploration obtained 27 germplasm of Bangka local taro. The results of the morphological relationship analysis showed nine clusters at a 0.57 coefficient (57%). Cluster one consisted of Tungkuk, Sayur, Hitam/Nyatoh, Rakit Hijau, Lilin, and Cantik Manis accessions. Cluster two consisted of Rakit Hitam accession. Cluster three consisted of Ganjung, Trans 2, Sungai Tebuk and Trans 1 accessions. Cluster four consisted of Sayang Anak, Pak Ugo and Trans 3 accessions. Cluster five consisted of Angit and Kelat Mentak Kelapa accessions. Cluster six consisted of Pelawan Toboali, Wangi/Colet and Simbang accessions. Cluster seven consisted of Alar accession. Cluster eight consisted of Pelawan Rukem, Kelat Mentak Rukem, Selaseh, Pinangbo and Telok Simbang accessions.Cluster nine consisted of Butir/Pikul and Butir Mentaram accessions. Abstract

Seleksi cekaman salinitas kacang tanah dilakukan untuk mendapatkan tetua yang toleran terhadap salinitas dan memperbaiki sifat kacang tanah dalam kegiatan pemuliaan tanaman. Informasi genotip unggul kacang tanah toleran terhadap salinitas sangat diperlukan sebagai dasar pemilihan genotip tetua yang adaptif pada lahan salin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh kacang tanah yang memiliki sifat toleran cekaman salinitas dan menentukan konsentrasi air laut yang dapat ditoleransi oleh tanaman. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan dan Penelitian, Jurusan Agroteknologi, Fakultas Pertanian Perikanan dan Biologi, Universitas Bangka Belitung, pada bulan Februari–April 2018. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) pola split plot dengan 2 ulangan. Petak utama adalah tingkat salinitas yaitu non-salin (kontrol), salinitas rendah, dan salinitas sedang. Anak petak adalah 5 genotip kacang tanah yaitu aksesi lokal (Belimbing dan Arung dalam) dan varietas nasional (Tuban, Kancil, dan Hypoma). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa varietas Hypoma memiliki karakter jumlah daun dan diameter batang yang paling baik, namun tidak toleran terhadap cekaman salinitas sedang. Aksesi Belimbing merupakan genotip toleran salinitas rendah berdasarkan nilai indeks toleransi cekaman salinitas. Selection of groundnut tolerant to salinity stress is carried out to obtain parent genotypes tolerant to salinity and improve the characteristics of groundnut in plant breeding program. The information of superior groundnut genotypes tolerant to salinity is necessary as the basic of genotypes selection adaptive in the saline area. The research aimed to obtain the groundnut tolerant to salinity stress and determine the concentration of seawater that can be tolerated by groundnut. This research was conducted at The Experiment and Research Field, Faculty of Agriculture Fisheries and Biology, University of Bangka Belitung, from February to April 2018. The research used Complete Randomized Design (CRD) split plot with two replications. Main plot was concentrations of seawater; non-saline (control), low salinity, and moderate salinity. The subplot was groundnut genotypes of local accessions (Belimbing and Arung Dalam) and national varieties (Tuban, Kancil, and Hypoma). The results of this research indicated that Hypoma has the best result for plant height and diameter of stem, but intolerant to moderate salinity stress. Belimbing was the genotype with low salinity tolerance based on score index of tolerant salinity stress.

Abstract

Durian adalah tanaman yang mudah mengalami erosi genetik. Eksplorasi dan karakterisasi harus dilakukan untuk melindungi plasma nutfah durian lokal Bangka.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk karakterisasi morfologi, menentukan hubungan kekerabatan dan potensi hasil aksesi durian lokal Bangka.  Penelitian dilaksanakan bulan Desember 2011 sampai Februari 2012 di Kabupaten Bangka Barat, Bangka Tengah dan Bangka Selatan.  Penelitian terbagi dalam kegiatan yaitu ekplorasi, identifikasi dan karakterisasi. Berdasarkan hasil eksplorasi didapatkan 11 aksesi berasaldari bangka barat, 7 aksesi dari bangka selatan dan lima aksesi dari bangka tengah.  23 aksesi yang didapatkan mengelompok membentuk 5 kelompok pada tingkat kesamaan 60%.  Potensi hasil rata-rata buah durian lokal Bangka mencapai 40-250 buah/tahun. Durian dengan potensi hasil tertinggi adalah aksesi Sigajah dengan rata-rata berat buah 2.3 kg dan hasil 60-140 buah/pohon.

Abstract

Pisang (Musa sp) merupakan tanaman yang mempunyai kandungan gizi sangat baik, kaya akan mineral dan mengandung vitamin A, B kompleks, C dan B6. Plasma nutfah pisang di Bangka saat ini belum diketahui. Penelitian tentang keragaman plasma nutfah pisang di Pulau Bangka perlu dilakukan untuk mempertahankan plasma nutfah lokal Bangka. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Pulau Bangka. Karakterisasi plasma nutfah pisang meliputi karakter kualitatif dan karakter kuantitatif. Analisis kekerabatan antar genotipe plasma nutfah pisang di Pulau Bangka berdasarkan metode UPGMA. Hasil eksplorasi dan karakterisasi plasma nutfah pisang di Pulau Bangka terdapat 22 plasma nutfah. Hasil analisis hubungan kekerabatan terdapat empat klaster pada koefeisien 0,40 (40%). Klaster satu terdiri dari plasma nutfah Udang. Klaster dua terdiri dari plasma nutfah Jernang dan Rotan. Klaster tiga terdiri dari plasma nutfah Wei, Kapal, dan Abu. Klaster empat terdiri dari plasma nutfah Madu Manis, Madu Keling, Gembur, Jambi, 40 Hari, Bawang, Geda, Tematu, Serindit, Masak Ijau, Rejang, Madu Pulau, Kecit Lantai, Susu, Gede dan Lilin. Variabilitas karakter kuantitatif relatif luas.

Abstract

Seleksi tanaman tetua merupakan tahapan awal kegiatan persilangan. Tanaman tetua biasanya berasal dari plasma nutfah karena memiliki diversitas yang tinggi dan potensi yang bagus. Pengujian plasma nutfah yang potensial bisa dilakukan memlalui uji variabilitas dan heritabilitas. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu menyeleksi tanaman tetua padi untuk kegiatan pemuliaan tanaman berdasarkan nilai variabilitas dan heritabilitas. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian, Perikanan, dan Biologi, Universitas Bangka Belitung. Penelitian menggunkan metode ekperimental Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan tiga ulangan. Perlakuan yang digunakan berupa tujuh aksesi padi lokal, yaitu Grintil, Balok Runti, Mukud Besak, Mayang Curui, Payang Tebing, Balok Lutong and Balok Lukan Jintan. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan karakter antara tujuh aksesi padi lokal Bangka yang diuji. Heritabilitas tinggi untuk tujuh padi lokal Bangka diperoleh pada karakter karakter tinggi tanaman, waktu berbunga, panjang malai, jumlah biji hampa, waktu panen, panjang biji, lebar biji, berat 1000 biji, jumlah biji total, dan hasil biji/rumpun. Variabilitas luas diperoleh pada karakter panjang biji. Aksesi Balok Runti dan Payak Tebing direkomendasikan sebagai tanaman tetua untuk kegiatan pemuliaan selanjutnya.

Abstract

Hydroponic vegetable cultivation for PKK mothers aims to produce safe household-scale vegetables. This activity was an opportunity for the community to increase income. Community service activities were carried out in Pagarawan Village, Merawang Subdistrict, Bangka District in May?August 2018. The purpose of community service activities was to provide counseling and training on plant cultivation with a hydroponic system. Kind of vegetables that are cultivated are mustard greens. The hydroponic system that was socialized to participants was a floating and flowing hydroponic system using a wick. The results of a survey to training participants showed that 38.46? strongly agreed, 61.54? agreed, and 0? disagreed with hydroponic vegetable cultivation. The results of SWOT analysis showed that to increased community motivation in conducting hydroponic crop cultivation there needs a capital/investment, support from academics, and the government. The results of analysis of mustard greens farming in hydroponics require an initial capital of IDR 2,016,000, a profit of IDR 502,570/month, and venture capital can be returned within 4 months. The hydroponic plant system is very good to be developed because besides being able to meet the needs of vegetables for the household it can also increase family income.
