Abstract

This study is concerned with Information Communication and Technologies (ICTs) and Group Discussion (GD) that become one of the most effective solutions to the problem. Universitas Bumigora has numerous students in one class in which each class consists of approximately 50-60 students. The aims of this study are to identify students? perspectives on GD and ICTs and to compare men's and women?s perspectives on GD and ICTs in large classes. This study was conducted in two big classes. The instrument in this research was a questionnaire. The questionnaire was used to get information about the students? responses to the application of FGD and ICTs in teaching and learning English and to identify the differences responses between man and women group. The data obtained were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. This study was conducted in two big classes. The instrument in this research was a questionnaire. The questionnaire was used to get information aboutthe students? responses to the application of FGD and ICTs in teaching and learning English. The data obtained were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. Based on the results, the students believed that group discussion and ICTs belong to ?very good? and ?good? with range score 3.11-3.44.

Abstract

Manufacture industry develops very rapidly, it could be seen from the various technology that is used inthe process of the production. This developments causes the increasing of consumers needs, so the businessmenof manufacture have to be able to increase the quality and quantity of the products that are produced. Oneof the way to increase it that is by using aids of productions which are Jig and Fixture. This paper is talkingabout the design of Welding Fixture which this kind of fixture is always used for welding processes. Theseaids are used for the welding process of front engine mounting cars products of Suzuki Baleno. The design ofwelding fixture is done to decrease the defects of the products caused by the less precise components placementwhen the welding process is underway. Moreover, the design is done to hasten the processes of loading andunloading (setup).

Abstract

Objectives of the study were to determine effects of organic fertilizer on growth and yield of two varieties of tomato as well as the interaction between both factors. Factors studied were 1) types of organic fertilizer, consisted of 3 levels: manure, compost and green manure and 2) varieties of tomatoes, consisted of two levels: Viccario F1 and San Marino F1. Variables observed were plant height and stem diameter at ages 15, 30 and 45 days after transplanting (DAT), fruit numbers, and fruit weight for 5 times of harvest. The results showed that types of organic fertilizer exerted significant effects on plant height at age of 15 and 30 DAT, plant stem diameter at age 15 and 30 DAT, fruit numbers and fruit weight.  The best growth of tomato was on green manure.  Varieties also exerted significant effects on plant height at ages 15, 30 and 45 DAT, stem diameter at ages 30 and 45 DAT,  fruit numbers and fruit weight, but no significant effect on stem diameter at age 15 DAT. The best growth and fruit numbers wer found at Viccario, while the highest fruit weight was found at variety San Marino. There was a significant interaction between types of organic fertilizer and tomato varieties on plant height at age 45 DAT, but no significant interaction on other variables. The best plant growth was found at the combination of Viccario-manure.

Abstract

The research was conducted on 1 April-26 May 2015. The purpose of this study to determine the number of leaves turi fermented flour in fish feed formulation baung (Hemibagrus nemurus) the effect on growth, feed efficiency and protein retention. This study uses a completely randomized design (RAL) with one factor, 5 treatments and 3 replications. Treatments using turi leaves fermentation where are P1 (0%), P2 (5%), P3 (10%), P4 (15%) and P5 (20%). Which Feed protein contain 35%. The results showed that the highest treatment contained in P3. Use turi leaves fermented formulated in the feed as much as 10%, produces the best baung fish seed growth is digestibility of the feed 30.07%, the feed efficiency is 24.46%, protein retention is 10.98% and specific growth rate is 2.02%.Key word: (Hemibagrus nemurus), Fermentation Leaf Turi

Abstract

ABSTRACT There are three aims of this study. First, describe the skills of reading comprehention to the news of VIII grade students at SMP Negeri 7 Padang. Second, describe the writing text skills of VIII grade students at SMP Negeri 7 Padang. Third, describe the correlation of reading comprehention to the news with the writing text skills of VIII grade students at SMP Negeri 7 Padang. The  type of this research is quantitative in terms of descriptive methods. The design used in this study is correlational design. The population of this study was the eighth grade students of the SMP Negeri 7 Padang which was registered in the 2018/2019 school year, it was 254 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of 15% of the population, namely 40 students. The research data is in the form of scores on the skills test results of reading comprehention to the news and scores on the results of the test writing news text skills. The instrument of this study is an objective test to measure news reading comprehention skills and performance tests to measure news text writing skills. The results of this study are three. First, the skills to write news texts of  VIII grade students of the SMP Negeri 7 Padang is in accordance with the Good qualifications (B) with an averange value 81,25. Second, the skill of reading comprehention to the news text of VIII grade students of the SMP Negeri 7 Padang in accordance with Good qualifications (B) with an averange value 81,37. Third, there is a significant correlation betwen reading comprehention skills and news text writing skills of VIII grade students of the SMP Negeri 7 Padang on n-1 freedom degrees and 95% significant level. H0 is reject and H1is accepted because the tcount is greater than ttable (4,49>2,68).             Kata Kunci: korelasi, keterampilan membaca pemahaman, keterampilan menul   teks berita

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh kolaborasi metode guided teachingdengan team quiz terhadap Hasil Belajar beserta Aktivitas siswa pada materi pokok suhu dan kalorkelas X semester II di SMA Negeri 1 Sei Suka T.P 2015/2016. Jenis penelitian ini adalahpenelitian quasi eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMANegeri 1 Sei Suka T.P.2015/2016 yang terdiri dari 6 kelas. Sampel penelitian dilakukan dengancara cluster random sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 35 orang untuk masing-masingkelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Dari analisa data diperoleh hasil uji hipotesis diperolehthitung = 7,90 dengan ttabel = 1,669 (thitung > ttabel ) yang berarti Ha diterima, sehingga dapatdisimpulkan bahwa hasil belajar dan aktivitas siswa pada kelas eksperimen lebih baikdibandingkan hasil belajar dan aktivitas siswa pada kelas kontrol, berarti ada pengaruh kolaborasimetode guided teaching dengan team quiz terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi pokok suhu dankalor kelas x semester II SMA Negeri 1 Sei Suka T.P 2015/2016. Aktivitas siswa selama proses pembelajaran di kelas eksperimen memiliki nilai rata-rata 65,80 tergolong ke dalam kategori cukup aktif.

Abstract

Averrhoa bilimbi L., popularly known as belimbing wuluh, is a common plant used as traditional medicine and cooking ingredients in Indonesia. Averrhoa bilimbi fruit contains many active substances as antibacterial such as tannin, formic acid, flavonoids, saponins, peroxides, and triterpenoids. Streptococcus pyogenes is a pathogenic bacteria that can cause respiratory infections. This study was carried out to investigate the inhibitory activity of Averrhoa bilimbi L. fruit extract at various concentrations on the growth of Streptococcus pyogenes. This study was a true experimental with post test only control design. The inhibitory activity was assessed by the KirbyBauer’s disc diffusion method with four different extract concentrations (20%, 40%, 60%, 80%), 96% EtOH as negative control, and Amoxicillin antibiotic as positif control. The EtOH extract showed the mean diameter of inhibition zone of 20% extract was 11.43 mm (strong), 40% extract was 19.13 mm (strong), 60% extract was 24.58 mm (very strong), 80% extract was 30.99 mm (very strong), and the negative control (96% EtOH) was 0.00 mm. Least Significant Difference test showed there were significant different of inhibition zone in each extract concentrations of Averrhoa bilimbi L. against Streptococcus pyogenes with the strongest inhibitory activity is 80% extract concentration.
