Abstract

This research aim to test the effectivity of Baccilus thuringiensis as larvasida malaria vector in Subdistrict Batu Layar of Regency West Lombok, test to involve in laboratory and also in field. Data yielded by LD (Lethal Dose) 50 and LD 90 to test involve and difference sum up the larva of nopheles sp before and hereafter gift of Baccilus thuringiensis. Result of research test to involve in laboratory, Baccilus thuringiensis efektivity used by larvacide malaria vector with the analysis probit at belief storey level 95% LD 50 0,03 ppm and LD 90 0,069 ppm. Result of research test effectivity in field, Baccilus thuringiensis efektiv used as larvacide malaria vector, with the analysis t test there was difference meaning the larva amount of before and hereafter gift of Baccilus thuringiensis that was t = 0,023.

Abstract

The aim of this studyis to determine thedose of been soursop extract against larvae of Aedes sp killing activity (larvacida) that derived from dengue endemic are asin Mataram with bioas say testingin the laboratory.The research methodused wascompletely randomized experimental design. The samples used wereinstar III oflarvaeAedesspderived from eggsof Aedes sp mosquitoes that were collectedin the homes of residentsin endemic areas dengue feverin the city of Mataram.Results of bioas say testin the laboratory was obtained D56 and LD90 are 0.14 ppm and 0.20 ppm respectively. So that, the been of soursop extract is effective tokill the larvaeof Aedes sp.

Abstract

Abstrac: A worm infection can decrease sufferers’ health condition, nutrition, intelligence and their productivity thus, it can cause numerous of disadvantages economically. The immune response to worm infection begins with Th2 activation with a significant increase of IL-4, IL-5, IL-9, IL-10 and IL-13. The cytokines IL-5 that formed stimulates the growth and activation of eosinophils. The purpose of this research was to know the immune response by increasing the number of eosinophils to worm infection rate at Puskesmas Tanjung Karang. The research design was expost facto with cross sectional or transversal. The sample was communities’ faces and blood at Puskesmas Tanjung Karang as many as 50 people. The technique sampling was random from family members who have worm risk factors (poor sanitation conditions, living near animal cage, ground floor houses, pets such as dogs and cats). The correlation analysis of worm infection with eosinophils used Mann Whitney Test. The results showed that the prevalence of worm infection belong to mild category for Trichurin trichura was 10%, and the overall worm infection was 12% whereas the average number of eosinophils in the normal category was between 50-300 cells / mm². The results of statistical analysis were not significant (Asymp. Sig. 0.059) which means that there was no effect of the immune response with the number of eosinophils on the level of worminfection at Puskesmas Tanjung Karang.Keywords: Immune response, eosinophil, worm infection.

Abstract

Abstract : The quality of staining, the morphology of spermatozoon applays The Giemsa dye, is strongly influenced by the type of Giemsa thinner. The terms of diluent that can be used is having a buffer property. The solution of NaCl 0.9 %, besides having buffer properties also has a cheaper price. The research is a descriptive study that aims to determine NaCl 0.9% as the alternative of diluting solution at Giemsa staining on morphological examination of spermatozoon. This study was conducted to compare the quality of spermatozoon morphology staining by using Giemsa which was diluted with 0.9% NaCl solution and the solution of Phosphate Buffer. The result of the study indicated The Giemsa staining with NaCl 0.9% solution, is obtained the outstanding spermatozoon morphology staining absorption was 71.625% and the poor spermatozoon morphology staining absorption was 28.375%. The results of study which was applied the Phosphate Buffer solution, was obtained the outstanding spermatozoon morphology staining absorption was 81.563% and the poor spermatozoon morphology staining absorption was 18.438%. The NaCL 0.9% can be used as an alternative dilute solution at Giemsa staining on morphological examination of spermatozoon.

Abstract

Abstract: Cholesterol is an important element in the body, but in high quantities, it can cause atherosclerosis that will eventually possess an impact on coronary heart disease. One of the foods that can reduce cholesterol is a food contains flavonoids which is found in melon seeds (Cucumis melo l.). It contains high fiber that can reduce either of excessive insulin or blood fat levels. The objective study was to determine the effect of Melon seeds flour Toward Total Cholesterol Level in White Male Wistar Strain Rats. This research was carried out with pre-expriment research design, used One group pretest-postest with 5 male wistar strain rats. Data collected in the form of data examination results of total cholesterol level before and after introducing Melon seeds flour. The mean result of total cholesterol test in white male rats before giving Melon seeds flour was 261 mg / dL, whereas the result of total cholesterol test after giving Melon seeds flour was 190.2 mg/dL. Cholesterol levels decreased by 70.8 mg/dl. In short, presenting Melon seeds flour (Cucumis melo l.) for 14 days can decrease total cholesterol level in white male wistar rats. Keywords: Melon Seeds, wistar strain, total cholesterol.

Abstract

AbstrakInfeksi malaria menyebabkan menurunnya produktivitas kerja, menurunnya kunjungan wisata dan menurunnya kecerdasan anak, mengakibatkan menurunnya Pendapatan Asli Daerah (PAD) akhirnya  terhambatnya laju pembangunan nasional. Oleh sebab itu melalui program Gebrak Malaria, Indonesia mencanangkan eliminasi malaria pada tahun 2025 yang dilakukan secara bertahap disesuaikan dengan kondisi daerah. Propinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat dengan jumlah kasus malaria 98, 488, AMI 22,54 permil dan API (Anual Parasite Incidence) 5,08 permil merupakan daerah katagori kasus yang tinggi (Hight Incidence Area).(Dikes NTB, 2008). Salah satu kabupaten di NTB yaitu Lombok Barat mempunyai dua daerah endemis malaria yaitu Kecamatan Sekotong dan Kecamatan Batu Layar,  daerah tersebut juga merupakan kawasan pariwisata. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui kerentanan Anopheles sp terhadap insektisida karbamat dan organofosfat  di Kabupaten Lombok Barat dengan uji biokimia. Metode penelitian yang akan digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif analitik. Data yang  dihasilkan adalah peningkatan aktifitas enzim esterase non spesifik pada Anopheles sp di Kabupaten Lombok Barat secara kualitatif yaitu skor visualisasi warna dan kuantitatif berdasarkan nilai Absorbance Value (AV). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan vektor malaria rentan terhadap karbamat dan organofosfat di Sekotong dengan skor visualisasi warna 1,7 dan nilai AV 0,97; di Batu layar Anopheles sp rentan dengan skor visualisasi warna 1,6 dan nilai AV 0,89 sedangkan di Pasar Seni Senggigi mulai toleran dengan skor visualisasi warna 1,9 dan nilai AV 0,9. Kata kunci : kerentanan, Anopheles sp,  uji biokimia

Abstract

ABSTRACT Blood sugar levels are a very important factor for body activity because blood sugar is the main energy source whose metabolism is liver. High blood sugar levels are called hyperglycemic conditions. The hyperglycemic state is a symptom of diabetes mellitus. Diabetes mellitus is a problem that is often found in Indonesian society. This disease can cause microvascular and macrovascular complications. Giving traditional medicine such as avocado seeds (P. americana Mill) in the form of tea bag is expected to reduce the level of blood sugar. Objective: To find out the effect of avocado seeds (P. americana Mill.) In the form of tea bag on blood sugar levels of white mice (R. norvegicus) wistar strains that are hyperglycemic Method: This study is a Pre-experiment research with a Pretest-One Group research design Posttes, using 6 rats aged two to four months. After a week of adaptation and successfully induced with alloxan, a pretest blood sugar level was tested at the time. The treatment was given for one week and posttest blood glucose levels were examined. Results: The study showed a mean blood sugar level of hyperglycemic wistar white rats before being given avocado seeds (P. americana Mill.) In the form of tea bag 226.4 and average after being given avocado seeds (P. americana Mill.) In the form tea bag is 154 mg / dL. Abstract

Malaria merupakan penyakit infeksi yang disebabkan oleh Parasit. Masuknya penyakit malaria dapat diketahui salah satunya dengan adanya peningkatan protein pada urine. Kadar protein dalam urin lebih dari 150 mg dapat dijumpai pada kerusakan- kerusakan membran kapiler glomerulus atau karena gangguan mekanisme reabsorbsi tubulus atau kerusakan-kerusakan pada kedua mekanisme tersebut. Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi infeksi malaria terhadap positivitas protein urine pada penderita malaria. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian yang besifat observasional analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional, jumlah sampel menggunakan sampel jenuh, teknik pengambilan sampel dengan cara Accidental Sampling, variabel penelitian berupa variasi infeksi malaria dan positivitas protein urine. Jenis malaria yang banyak menginfeksi di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Meninting dan Puskesmas Penimbung adalah Malaria Falsiparum (Malaria Tropika) Malaria Vivaks (Malaria Tertiana) dan Malaria Mix dengan positivitas protein urine berbeda beda. Hasil uji Chi Square menunjukkan p = 0,892 Karena probabilitas lebih dari 0,05 (p<? = 0,05) artinya Ho diterima dan Ha di tolak. Tidak ada pengaruh variasi infeksi malaria terhadap positivitas protein urine pada penderita malaria

Abstract

Malaria adalah penyakit infeksi parasit yang disebabkan oleh Plasmodium di dalam eritrosit, Penyakit malaria disebabkan oleh protozoa genus Plasmodium yang ditularkan oleh nyamuk Anopheles betina, Malaria mempengaruhi hampir semua komponen darah, dan trombositopenia merupakan salah satu kelainan hematologis yang ditemui, dan banyak mendapat perhatian di literatur ilmiah. Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis Plasmodium penyebab infeksi malaria terhadap hasil hitung jumlah trombosit. Penelitian ini bersifat observasional analitik dengan pendekatan case control, jumlah sampel menggunakan sampel jenuh, teknik pengambilan sampel  dengan Accidental Sampling yaitu mengambil kasus atau responden yang  kebetulan ada atau tersedia di suatu tempat sesuai dengan konteks penelitian. Hasil analisis dari 32 sampel pasien didapatkan 12 sampel positif yaitu 4 pasien terinfeksi Plasmodium falciparum dengan rerata jumlah trombosit 86.250 sel/µl darah , 2 pasien terinfeksi Plasmodium vivax dengan rerata jumlah trombosit 73.000 sel/µl darah, dan 6 pasien terinfeksi Plasmodium mix dengan rerata jumlah trombosit 88.700 sel/µl darah.

Abstract

Kolesterol adalah zat yang dibutuhkan oleh tubuh. Namun, jika terdapat dalam jumlah yang tinggi atau melebihi batas normal akan menyebabkan penyakit jantung koroner (PJK) akibat dari arterosklerosis. Salah satu faktor yang dapat menurunkan kadar kolesterol adalah mengonsumsi buah pir Yali (P. bretschneideri) yang mengandung serat dan vitamin C. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah diketahui pengaruh pemberian jus buah Pir Yali (P. bretschneideri) terhadap kadar kolesterol total pada darah hewan coba kelinci (O. cuniculus). Rancangan penelitian ini bersifat pra-eksperiment. Perlakuan terdiri atas pemberian campuran kuning telur ayam ras dan air gula pasir 90 % untuk hiperkolesterol, dan pemberian jus buah Pir Yali masing-masing 1 kali sehari pada 6 ekor kelinci dengan dosis sesuai berat badan hewan coba kelinci dan analisa data disajikan secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jus buah Pir Yali dapat menurunkan kadar kolesterol total darah hewan coba kelinci, sehingga dapat disimpulkan ada pengaruh pemberian jus buah Pir Yali terhadap kadar kolesterol total pada darah hewan coba kelinci. Saran pada peneliti selanjutnya apabila akan melakukan penelitian tentang pemberian buah Pir Yali  terhadap kadar kolesterol total sebaiknya menggunakan ekstrak buah Pir Yali.
