Abstract

AbstractThis research was aimed to find out the feasibility of a pocket book as a sub-media for learning the benefits of biodiversity in 10th grade. This research was arranged with descriptive method and quantitative approach. The feasibility of pocket book was tested by two lecturers of Biology Education Study Programme FKIP Untan and three senior high school biology teachers in Ngabang, Landak regency. The results of the ethnobotany research were then implemented in the form of biodiversity pocket book learning media. Based on the evaluation of validators from SMAN 1 Ngabang, Pelita Ngabang High School and MAN 1 Ngabang obtained an average value of total validation of 3.81. This research was attempted to prove that the pocket book was valid and suitable to be used as a learning media in the sub-material for biodiversity benefits in 10th grade. Keywords: Biodiversity, Media, Pocket Book, Ngabang

Abstract

AbstractThis research aims to know the influence of lesson model Teams Games Turnament (TGT) by using Leaflet on the lesson Monera for grade X in SMAN 1 Sungai Pinyuh. The research method was Quasi Experimental Design with research design Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Technique of data collecting used was intact group whether grade X MIA 3 as the experiment class and grade X MIA 2 as control class. The instrument was 25 numbers of multiple choice test. Based on the data analysis, it has been gained the average of students? study result which have been taught by using Teams Games Turnament (TGT) using Leaflet was 20,39, meanwhile the students? which have been taught by using conventional learning was 17,78. From the U Mann Whitney test, it has been gain  Zhitung < Ztabel was -2,75 < -1,96 which meant there was significant differences between students? study result which have been taught by using Teams Games Turnament (TGT) using Leaflet and students? which have been taught by using conventional learning. The effect size number that has been gained was 0,69 and has been categorized as moderate and given influences 25,49%.Keywords: influence, model Team Games Turnament (TGT) using Leaflet, Monera lesson

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to measure the feasibility of smart card media on the sub-material Indonesian Biodiversity Utilization Class X on the benefits of medicinal plants by community in Seberkat village.. This study was conducted in a form of qualitative research using the descriptive method. The sample was taken using a purposive sampling technique. Based on the analysis of the syllabus, the results of the research were implemented into smart card media. The smart card was tested by five validatory  using the Likert scale and was analyzed using the Lawshe method (1975). Two lecturers of the Biology Education Study Program of FKIP UNTAN and three Biology teachers from SMAN 1 Tebas, SMAN 2 Tebas, and SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Pontianak participated in testing the media feasibility. The smart card media obtained Content Validity Index (CVI) scores by 0,96 from five validatory with a valid category and is suitable to use on the sub-material Indonesian Biodiversity Utilization, yet still needs to be tested into the classroom. Abstract

One of the traditional utilization forms using diverse plants was a self-care ritual, which was anciently previously found in the tradition performed by women in the Qadriyah Palace of Pontianak Sultanate. The self-care ritual was aimed to treat either health-related problems or common diseases. Therefore, this ethnobotany study of the women self-care ritual was purposely implemented through a folding poster media in the tenth-grade sub-material of Senior High Schools, regarding the utilization of biodiversity in the field of cosmetics and medicines. The learning activity was collaboratively carried out with the teachers, so that students can recognize and preserve the varieties of beneficial plants in their environmental surroundings. The class selected as the subject of this study was class of X IPA 2. The collaborative learning process took place in two meetings; beginning with plan 1, performance 1, reflection 1; and plan 2, performance 2, and reflection 2 simultaneously in each meeting, with a duration of 90 minutes. The first cycle successfully implemented the ethnobotanic self-care-based folding poster media, previously performed by women in the Qadriyah Palace of Pontianak Sultanate?s environment, which had previously been validated by lecturers and teachers and was declared fit for use. Meanwhile, in the cycle 2, the media used was a flipbook. The results showed that collaborative learning using ethnobotany-based media can promote an environmental caring attitude amongst the tenth-grade students of SMAN 10 Pontianak.

Abstract

Kegiatan  ini  bertujuan  untuk  mengidentifikasi  kemampuan  siswa SMP Negeri 4 Siantan dalam menyusun karya ilmiah tentang penjernihan air untuk mengatasi permasalahan lingkungan lokal berbasis potensi daerah di Kecamatan Siantan. Subyek kegiatan ini adalah siswa SMP Negeri 4 Siantan kelas VIII yang terdiri dari 27 siswa yang terbagi menjadi 9 kelompok. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan lembar penilaian kualitas karya ilmiah dan angket tanggapan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karya ilmiah yang dibuat oleh kelompok siswa kelas VIII dalam mengatasi permasalahan lingkungan lokal memiliki rata-rata skor 2.8 dengan persentase 71.3%, dan kriteria yang diperoleh adalah cukup baik. Rata-rata kemampuan siswa dalam membuat karya ilmiah dari 9 indikator sebesar 91.78%.Kata Kunci: kemampuan siswa, permasalahan lingkungan lokal, potensi lokal ABSTRACTThe aim of this action is to identify the student's ability SMP Negeri 4 Siantan in desain of scientific papers about purifier water for resolve local environmental problems based on  potential in District Siantan. The subjects of this action were students of SMP Negeri 4 Siantan VIII class consisted of 27 students divided into 9 groups. Data were collected through form scientific work quality sheet and responses questionnaire. The results showed that the scientific work created by a group of VIII class students in desain scientific papers about purifier water for resolve local environmental issues based on  potential in District Siantan had an average score of 2.8 with percentage of 71.3 %, and the criteria obtained are quite good. The average student's ability to desain of scientific work from 9 indicators obtained 91.78 %.Key word:students ability, local environmental problems, local potency.

Abstract

AbstractThis research aims to know the effectiveness of cooperative learning model Team Games Tournament (TGT) toward students learning outcomes on blood circulation system in class VIII SMP Koperasi Pontianak. The research was quasi experimental design. The research done in class VIII A and VIII B year 2010/2011 with 42 students VIII A and 40 students VIII B, class VIII A as experiment and VIII B as control. The research divided into two sessions. Instruments form was 20 item multiple choice. The result of the research shown the average post-test score of experiment class was 13,25 and control class was 11,74. Mann Whitney test result with significant ?=5% obtain Zscore< Ztable -3,56< 1,96. It can conclude that was a learning outcomes difference between students teach use cooperative learning model TGT and student teach use conventional learning model on blood circulation system in class VIII SMP Koperasi Pontianak. Keywords: Effectiveness, TGT Learning Model, Learning Outcomes, Blood Circulation System

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the effectiveness of comic media on student learningoutcome in material environmental pollution in grade VII SMP Negeri 1 Air Besar Kabupaten Landak. The method of this research is Quasi-Experimental Design with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The study sample consists of two classes namely grade VIIA as class experiment and grade VIIB  as grade control. The sampling technique is intact group. The sampling technique is intact group. Instruments used in this research is 20 items of multiple choice test. The average student learning outcomes are taught using the medium comic is 16.17  higher compared to the average student learning outcomes are taught using the media charta is 14.33. After doing analysis with U Mann-Whitney test, it is resulted that Zcount < Ztabel (-3.80 < -1.96) thus it can be concluded that is significance between the average score of students which were taught by using comic media an charta. Based on the calculation of effect size of 1.20 means the effectiveness of learning by using comic media on environmental pollution material is high and can improve student learning outcomes by 38.49%.Keywords: Effectiveness, Comic Media, Learning Achievement, Environmental Pollution

Abstract

This research is aimed to determine the effectivity of cooperative learning model through Numbered Heads Together (NHT) by visual media on students? achievement in material life organization of VII grade SMP Rehoboth. The research is quasi experimental design, with nonequivalen control group design. The research samples are VIIa and VIIb grade. The technique of data collecting is by using random sampling. The average score of the students? achievement that has been teach by using Numbered Heads Together (NHT) of cooperative learning model with visual media is 14,89 as higher than the conventional model of 11,29. The t-test in standard 5%  shows tcount= 5,023 bigger than its comparation to ttable = 1,679, it means there is a significant difference in the post-test result.  The counting of effect size is 1,27 it includes high, so the concluded that Numbered Heads Together (NHT) of cooperative learning model with visual media gave 39,80% of contribution on students? achievement.Key words : Numbered heads together, visual media.

The method used in this study was qualitative research using the descriptive. Validation sheet was used as the instrument of research. Each statement item is divided into categories Very Good is worth 4, Good is worth 3, Less Good is worth 2, and Not Good is worth 1. Since the data is in qualitative form, then to calculate it needs to be converted into a quantitative form using the Lawshe formula. Validation results from the validator can be analyzed using Content Validity Ratio (CVR) analysis. The flashcards feasibility as a learning media was then being verified by two lecturers of Biology major in Faculty of Teachers Training and Education Tanjungpura University and three Biology teachers for Senior High School tenth grader from three high schools in Landak Regency. Based on the verifier assessments, the flashcards are valid with the total average validation value 0.99 and feasible to be used as learning media in the benefits of biodiversity sub material.
