Abstract

Islamic boarding school (Pondok pesantren) is an effective media to transform religious and cultural values. The holistic educational system design of Islamic boarding school is able to internalize some important values to santri (Islamic boarding schools students). The tolerance on the pluralism of religiosity is an important value for the moslem young generation in facing differences. The pluralism can be grown up by using some educational activities, including muhadlaroh (training of speech). The research focuses on the religious material related to pluralism in understanding religion delivered by the students of PP. Al-Muayyad and PP. Takmirul Islam Surakarta in their speeches when joining the muhadharoh. By qualitative approach, the data analysis reveals that the students of PP. Al-Muayyad and PP. Takmirul Islam Surakarta has good understanding on the pluralism of religiosity.

Abstract

The transformation of The State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) towards State Islamic University (UIN) Surakarta is understood as a strategic step to improve the quality of the institution's education. IAIN Surakarta needs to fix several factors, both internal and external, in order to maintain its existence as a public institution in the implementation of Islamic Higher Education. The dilemma faced in the transformation of IAIN towards UIN is the dualism-dichotomic phenomenon of science developed. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. This research was conducted from June 14, 2017 to September 12, 2017. The data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed by descriptive analysis with inductive thinking methods. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that: 1) Surakarta IAIN needs to develop general study programs as well as integration between general science and Islam, including KPI Study Programs; 2) the development of study programs at IAIN Surakarta is important in order to accelerate the transformation into UIN Surakarta; 2) the rapid trend of media development needs to be addressed by the Surakarta IAIN.

Abstract

Abstract: Gender issue in  pesantren (or Islamic Boarding School) is a part of larger gender problem in Indonesia, either in education and in religion. The main indicator of this problem is vivid gap between males and females.  This issue is actually not a new thing for there are a bunch of Indonesian novels  serve  it.  Those  novels  touching  pesantren in  the  theme usually  put  the  women as  a powerless, subordinated, inferior, marginalized person. However, the novel Perempuan Berkalung Sorban(PBS) tries to empower women. In the novel, the woman is portrayed as brilliant, brave, and also critical toward the pesantren hegemony such as: the power relation between santri (students) and   kiai (teachers), the understanding on classical books (kitab kuning), social relation between men and women in pesantren ciircumstances, and many more.   Kata Kunci: Resistensi, Ideologi, Perempuan, Pesantren

Abstract

Tulisan ini membahas dinamika pengembangan kurikulum program studiKomunikasi dan Penyiaran Islam (KPI) Fakultas Ushuluddin dan DakwahIAIN Surakarta dan struktur kurikulum program studi Komunikasi danPenyiaran Islam (KPI) sesuai dengan kompetensi lulusannya.Dari duapermasalahn ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa dinamika pengembangankurikulum di prodi KPI FUD IAIN Surakarta berdasarkan3 ranah yaituranah proses, ranah factor dan ranah dampak. Pada ranah proses dibagipada 3 periode yaitu 1). Periode awal (early period), 2) periode menengah,(medium period)), 3)Periode dewasa ini (contemporary period). PadaRanah Faktor dilatarbelakangi oleh faktor-faktor sebagai berikut: 1).Faktor internal dan 2). Faktor eksternal. Faktor internal berasal dari dosenmaupun karyawan, tata dan budaya organisasi di STAIN Surakarta,input mahasiswa, alumni (output), dan sebagainya. Sedangkanfaktoreksternal adalah faktor pasar tenaga kerja, tuntutan masyarakat, isu-isudan trendlokal, nasional maupun internasional dan sebagainya. FaktorDampak Pengembangan kurikulum akan menimbulkanbeberapa dampakdiantaranyaadalah: 1). Dampak Material 2). Dampak Profesional dan,3) Dampak Sosial Kultural. Struktur Kurikulum di prodi Komunikasi danPenyiaran Islam (KPI) IAIN Surakarta dalam menghadapi kompetensilulusannya pada kebutuhanpangsa pasar mengalami perubahanperubahanmulai tahun 1998/1999, 1999/2000, 2002/2003, 2007/2008,2009/2010, 2011/2012.

Abstract

Gender issue in a pesantren (Islamic Boarding House) is a part of larger gender issues in Indonesia,either in education or religion. The main indicator of gender issue in pesantren is a striking gap betweenmen and women. Themes related to this issue actually are not new for novels in Indonesia. Some novelsrelated to pesantren usually portray women as helplessness, subordinate, inferior, and marginalized.However, in Perempuan Berkalung Sorban (PBS) novel, the author tried to empower women throughhis writings. Abstract

This is a field research using a qualitative descriptive approach. This research aims at understanding the construction of religious thought about the values of nationalism and nationalism insights by preachers at the Great Mosque of Surakarta and Sukoharjo. The results of the study indicate that the constructs of religious thought by the preachers can be divided into two types. First, fundamentalist preachers; Nationalist thought which always makes religious texts the only foothold, too idealized and normative footing, like HTI and Salafi preachers. Second, moderate preachers; Nationalist thought which do not make religious texts the only basis but also saw reality and maqashid sharia, flexible and realistic, like Tarbiyah-PKS and NU preachers. Nationalism insights cover five main points of nationalism values, namely the Pancasila, the love of the homeland and the Republic of Indonesia, tolerance and diversity, democracy and deliberation, respect for the red and white flag and the national anthem. In general the preachers accept and support those.  Only HTI and Salafi do not accept democracy which is, on their mind, contrary to Islam. HTI accepts the concept of the NKRI but under the auspices of the Caliphate.
