Abstract

The aims of this study was (1) To find out the significant brain writing learning model using episodic memory in teaching narrative texts (2) to determine the students' interest in applying brain writing learning model using episodic memory in teaching  narrative text. This study used quasi-experimental method. This research was conducted at SMPN 30Makassar with total number population consist of 810 students. The researcher used a random sampling technique. The total sample used was 60 students. The researcher divided the sample into two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The instruments of the research were tests, questionnaires and interviews. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that brain writing learning model using episodic memory in teaching narrative texts not significantly  improve the students achievement especially in writing narrative text. Brain writing learning model using episodic memory also is very effective to be applied to avoid student boredom and make students more interest in learning process.

Abstract

Kasus kebakaran hutan dan lahan yang terjadi di indonesia semakin mendapatkan perhatian internasional dan harus segera ditindaklanjuti. Kebakaran hutan dan lahan tersebut tidak hanya menimbulkan kerugian pada negara asal tempat terjadinya kebakaran, namun juga perdampak terhadap negara lain berupa pencemaran asap lintas batas Negara terhadap Malaysia dan Singapura. dengan kejadian pencemaran asap lintas batas yang menyebabkan terganggunya lingkungan negara lain merupakan tindakan yang bertentangan dengan prinsip – prinsip hukum internasional, khususnya yang mengatur tentang hukum lingkungan internasional Dalam pencemaran lintas batas negara akibat dari kebakaran hutan ini dikarenkan Indonesia telah melakukan kelalaian dalam rangka pengelolaan hutan dan ini merupakan kegagalan dalam menerapkan standar langkah – langkah pengelolaan hutan dan pencegahan terhadap kebakaran hutan hingga menimbulkan pencemaran udara hingga keluar batas yurisdiksinya.   Kata Kunci : Transboundary haze pollution di Malaysia dan Singapura akibat kebakaran hutan di provinsi riau ditinjau dari hukum lingkungan internasional

Abstract

Assessment is one of the important parts in the teaching and learning process. For many students, assessment is something done to them by their teachers. But, students have to be involved in every assessment. Sometimes spoken interaction is scored by teachers but because of the limited time, teachers can ask students to assess their own spoken interaction. However, assessment conducted by the students still has many weaknesses even it is not trusted. This research studied about the students’ self assessment on their spoken interaction using CEFR. The researcher employed three instruments; self-assessment, a questionnaire, and open-ended questions. The participants of this study were 30 student teachers. The researcher gave the self-assessment form, a questionnaire and open-ended questions to them. The self-assessment form was used to find out their spoken interaction data while the questionnaire was used to find out their attitude toward self-assessment and open-ended questions were given to support their attitude toward self-assessment. It can be concluded that students’ self-assessment results were not too bad for new students and also they had good attitude toward self-assessment. Keywords: assessment, spoken interaction, speaking, attitude, self-confident

Abstract

Plaque control is one of the key elements in dental practice. The proper plaque controlfacilitates the health return for patients with gingival and periodontal deseases. Theconcept of using chemical agents to treat such conditions in the mouth has been widelyaccepted as part of dental practice for hundred of years. Chemotherapeutic agents forlocal use in the oral cavity are available in many forms over the years. The variousproduct categories and criteria for dental practice are reviewed, and consumer selectionsare suggested. To date, two agents have been accepted by The American DentalAssociation (ADA) for treatment of gingivitis: chlorhexidine mouthwash and essential oilmouthwash.

Abstract

Propolis, the resinous hive product by bees, is important in the defence of the hive. It is know that extract of propolisexhibits such pharmacological activities as antimicrobia,antiviral, antifungal, anti-inflamatory, immunostimulatoryand promote wound healing. The objective of this studywas to investigate the influence of the propolis on theformation of collagen in the wound healing process of thesubcutan injury of mice that were induced withActinobacillus actinomyctemcomitans (A.actinomyctemcomitans)Thisstudyapplied 24 female BALB/c mice of 2 - 3 monthsof age with the weight of 20 -30 grams. On the first day thewhole population were injected withA.actinomyctemcomitans subcutanly. The second day micewere randomly devided into two groups that was the groupwith special treatment and the controlled ones. The groupunder treatment were given the extract of propolis 100mg/kg body weight every day. While the controlled oneswere only given aquades.Histological observation was conducted upon each groupon the third, seventh and fourteenth days after A.actinomyctemcomitans injection. There-suits of theobservation was based on the density collagen fiber. Thedata obtained then analyzed by using Mann-Whitney U test.The results of the present study indicated that theadministration of 100 mg/kg BWpropolis peroral maystimulate collagen synthesis.

Abstract

Abstract: Writing Learning Tool Model-Based Text explanation Problem Based Learning (Study on the Development of Seventh Grade Students of SMPN 8 Makassar). The purpose of this research was to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the learning device to write text explanation of Problem Based Learning model based on class VII SMPN 8 Makassar. This study is a research Research and Development (R & D) development model ADDIE. The results obtained in this study were (1) the learning device declared invalid because the criterion of validity has been fulfilled, namely the average value of validity for all aspects of the minimum in the category is quite valid and the validity of every aspect of at least falls under the category valid () (2) the study revealed practically since the criteria of validity are met, namely the overall aspect of the component syntax model of Problem Based learning on the Implementation Plan lesson 1, 2, 3, and 4 are in the category of accomplished entirely (), and (3) the learning device is declared effective because the validity criteria have been met, namely mastery learning outcomes of students = 95%, the average teachers ability to manage the learning is = 3.7 are in either category (TKG ≤ 3.00 <4.00). Students gave a positive response to the implementation of learning to write explanatory text using the teaching of writing text-based explanatory models of Problem Based Learning = 93.5%.

Abstract

Background : Periodontal disease is caused by various factors.Bacterial deposit plays an important role against the occurrence of periodontal disease. One of the bacterias that contribute to the occurrence of periodontal disease is Porphyromonas gingivalis. Propolis is a natural substance contains antibacterial properties which are different depends on the type of propolis. Propolis has been used for the treatment of apthous ulcer, candidiasis, gingivitis, periodontitis, and pulpitis. Purpose : The purpose of the study is determine propolis gel Trigona sp inhibitionfrom South Sulawesi on the growth of Porphyromonas gingivalis. Methods : This research is an experimental laboratories. Inhibition test performed a diffusion method using propolis and metronidazole gel.Inhibition zone of propolis and metronidazole gel against Porphyromonas gingivalis were measured using calipers after incubation 1x24 hours, 2x24 hours, and 3x24 hours. Result :The zone of propolis gel and metronidazole gel inhibition against Porphyromonas gingivalis observed in1x24 hours, 2x24 hours, 3x24 hours.Propolis gel consecutive are6.17±0.48 mm, 5.76±0.55 mm, 5.23±0.32 mm, whereas metronidazole gelconsecutive are 13.68 ± 1.66, 13.94 ± 2:03, 12.90 ± 1.96 mm, and the difference of both inhibition zone based on time 1x24 hours, 2x24 hours, 3x24 hours are7.51, 8.18, 7.66 mm. Conclusion: South Sulawesi propolis gel have inhibitory effect on the growth of P. gingivalis bacteria. While the inhibition zone of South Sulawesi propolis gel is smaller than Metronidazole gel.

Abstract

The research aims to discover hether INSTAD learning model has influence towards motivation and mathematics problem solving ability of class VII students at SMPN 5 Wonomulyo Polewali Mandar district. The research was pre-experiment with one group only pretest-postest design. The results of the research showed that (1) the students’ motivation before implementing INSTAD learning model gained the average by 74.73 or in medium category, and the motivation after implementing INSTAD learning model gained verage by 101.83 or in very high category, also the improvement of the students’ learning motivation gained the average by 0.6 or in medium category, (2) the students’ ability in solving problem before implementing INSTAD learning model gained the average by 43.42 or in very low category, and the ability of solving problem after implementing INSTAD learning model gained verage by 78.95 or in medium category, also the improvement of the students’ ability in solving problem gained the average by 0.63 or in medium category, (3) the implementation of INSTAD learning model has influence towards the students’ motivation, (4) the implementation of INSTAD learning model has influence towards the students’ ability in solving problem.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap nilai pendidikan moral yang terdapat dalam teks M?ong Mpalo Bolong?. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah data tertulis berupa kutipan-kutipan yang menggambarkan nilai pendidikan moral yaitu kebaikan dan keburukan yang terdapat dalam teks M?ong Mpalo Bolong?. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah keseluruhan isi teks M?ong Mpalo Bolong? halaman 120-197 transliterasi dan terjemahan Nurhayati Rahman tahun 2009 yang diterbitkan oleh La Galigo Press, Makassar. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan adalah teknik baca dan teknik catat. Berdasakan hasil penelitian dan analisis data menunjukkan bahwa nilai pendidikan moral yang terdapat dalam teks M?ong Mpalo Bolong? yaitu aspek kebaikan adalah kesabaran (masabbaraq), keteguhan (agettengeng), musyawarah (assipetangngareng), kejujuran (alempureng), kesopansantunan (mappakalebbiq), saling memanusiakan (sipakatau), kedermawanan (makacoa), dan menasihati (mappangajaq). Sedangkan aspek keburukan yang terdapat dalam teks M?ong Mpalo Bolong? adalah kekikiran (masekkeq), kedendaman (nanniangi), kemubaziran (mapparinnaja), kesewenang-wenangan (makkabbo-aqbo), dan kemalasan (makuttu).
