Abstract

Latar belakang:  Orang tua yang memiliki anak disabilitas intelektual pasti akan mengalami berbagai tantangan yang berbeda dibandingkan dengan yang memiliki anak normal. Pengasuhan orang tua yang optimal pada anak disabilitas intelektual dapat dicapai apabila orang tua mampu menghadapi tekanan, mampu menghadapi masalah, serta menjadi individu yang kuat dan optimis. Hal tersebut  merupakan karakteristik individu yang memiliki resiliensi atau ketahanan. Salah satu faktor protektif atau faktor pendukung yang dapat mengubah, mengurangi atau meningkatkan respon individu terhadap pengaruh lingkungan yang memberi kecenderungan untuk mengalami perkembangan maladaptif adalah keluarga yang stabil dan memberikan dukungan  yang ditandai adanya pertalian diantara anggota keluarga Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kualitas relasi orang tua-anak dengan resiliensi orang tua anak disabilitas intelektual. Metode: Penelitian cross sectional ini dilakukan pada bulan Juni - Juli 2015 di SLB N 1 Bantul kota Yogyakarta sedangkan uji coba instrumen dilakukan pada 20 orang tua yang memiliki anak disabilitas intelektual di SLB Darma Bhakti Piyungan, Yogyakarta. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua  orang tua dengan anak  disabilitas intelektual di SLB N 1 Bantul dari tingkat TKLB sampai SMALB. Sampel yang diperoleh sebanyak 60 responden. Hasil: Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dari uji Chi square didapatkan hasil P = 0, 427 terlihat bahwa hubungan antara kualitas relasi orang tua-anak dengan resiliensi secara statistik tidak signifikan. Disimpulkan bahwa tidak ada korelasi antara kualitas relasi ortu-anak dengan resiliensi orang tua anak disabilitas intelektual. Kesimpulan: Penulis menyarankan hendaknya variabel resiliensi tidak langsung dihubungkan dengan variabel kualitas relasi melainkan ada juga variabel lain yang menyertainya seperti dukungan sosial dan lainnya.

Abstract

PurposeThis study aimed to determine the experience and social support needs of becoming a mother in adolescence.MethodsThis study was a qualitative research with a descriptive phenomenology approach. Data collection was performed by in-depth interview method and using a semi-structured study guide. Research was conducted at health centers of Jetis, Gedong Tengen and Umbulharjo 1 in May - June 2017. The participants were 7 adolescent (18-19 years old) mothers who had a 2 weeks - 12 months baby. The sampling was conducted by purposive sampling and recorded by a tape recorder. Data analysis was done manually by using Colaizzi method.ResultsFive themes emerged from the results of data analysis: 1) variation of feelings experienced from pregnancy up to delivering the baby, 2) freedom from routine of baby care, 3) early experience of baby care, 4) social support from significant other and midwives, and 5) improved confidence in baby care.ConclusionThe variety of experiences by adolescent mothers is accompanied by social support providing increased confidence in caring for their baby.

Abstract

Background: Bullying is a form of repetitive persecution both on physical and emotional aggressions and potentially causing mental and physical disorders on perpetrators and victims. There are various factors that may affect a child to behave as bullies. These are important factors to be identified as one of prevention effort to stop bullying behavior on children. Objective: This research aims to identify the association between emotional development and bullying behavior in children at the Elementary School No 7, Banyuasin Prajin, Palembang.Methods: This was a correlation descriptive using a cross sectional design. This research has been conducted on November 21, until December 1, 2016 involving 85 children as respondents. The instruments used for this research were Bar-On Emotional Quotient Inventory: Youth Version, school-bullying questionnaire, parenting style questionnaire and peer influence questionnaire. Chi-square test was used for bivariate data analysis and logistic regression test for multivariate analysis.Results: Results from chi-square test showed a significant association between emotional developments and parenting with bullying behavior (ρ<0,05), but no significant correlation between peer influence and bullying behavior (ρ>0,05). Logistic regression test showed a significant relationship between parenting and bullying behavior (OR) 4,655 (95% CI: 1,292-16,774), which indicated that the uninvolved parenting potentially makes bullying behavior have a chance to increase 4,655 times higher.Conclusion: There is a significant association between emotional development and parenting with children bullying behavior.

Abstract

Background: Adolescents who are in transition period have high risk behavior of juvenile delinquency. Communication between parents and adolescents effectively and openly could help adolescents to avoid delinquency behavior.Objective: This study aims to examine the relationship between family communication patterns and juvenile delinquency in Junior High School.Methods: This  research employed a cross-sectional design with correlation description approach. There were 243 students selected using simple random sampling from the 7th and 8th grade students of Junior High School. A questionnaire of juvenile delinquency and family communication pattern were used in this study.  Data were analyzed using Chi Square test.Result: The research  showed that the majority juvenile delinquency category was low (65%) and  the majority of communication pattern was in functional category  (73.3%). There was a significant relationship between family communication pattern and juvenile delinquency (p<0.05).Conclusion: Communication pattern within family have significant association with juvenile deliquency.
