Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of a Science Technology Society model accompanied with Mind Map to empower the ability to science procces skills. This study was a quasi-experimental study. The study used a one-group pretestposttestdesign.The populationofthestudywasallstudentsofgradeXofPublicSeniorHighSchool 7 Surakarta in the academic year of 2013/2014. Sample was take nusingcluster random sampling technique with a sample of 27 students. The instrument usedwas questionnaire, observation sheets, interviews, and tests. The ability to KPS data wastested with the Paired sample t-test and calculated by N-gain. The results showed theeffectiveness of STS models accompanied with MM, in whichit had been successful inincreasing the ability to KPS with a value of N-gain of 0.54 and the result was significanceat p = 0.000, making the ability be long to “medium” category. Based on the results ofresearch and hypothesis testing, it can be concluded that STS model accompanied withMM was effective in empowering the ability to KPS of the tenth graders of Senior HighSchool 7 Surakarta in the academic year of 2013/2014.Keywords: Science Technology Society (STS), Mind Map (MM), ScienceProccesSkills

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas lembar kerja untuk memberdayakan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam eksperimen semu dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Desain penelitian adalah Posttest Only Control Group Design dengan menggunakan lembar kerja mahasiswa pada kelompok eksperimen. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh mahasiswa semester 5 program studi Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar Universitas PGRI Madiun tahun akademik 2016/2017. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah cluster random sampling, sehingga diperoleh semseter 5 kelas D sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan semester 5 kelas F sebagai kelompok kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes essay, lembar observasi, serta dokumen akademik. Uji hipotesis menggunakan uji-t. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh nilai sig. 0,000 hal ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa lembar kerja efektif untuk memberdayakan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar.

Abstract

The population of the study was all students of grade X of Public Senior High School 7 Surakarta in the academic year of 2013/2014. Sample was taken using cluster random sampling technique with a sample of 27 students. The instrument used was questionnaire, observation sheets, interviews, and tests. The ability to KPS data was tested with the Paired sample t-test and calculated by Ngain. The results showed the effectiveness of STS models accompanied with MM, in which it had been successful in increasing the ability to KPS with a value of Ngain of 0.54 and the result was significance at p=0.000, making the ability belong to “medium” category. Based on the results of research and hypothesis testing, it can be concluded that STS model accompanied with MM was effective in empowering the ability to KPS of the tenth graders of Senior High School 7 Surakarta in the academic year of 2013/2014.

Abstract

In this 21st–century, students are expected to have current competencies in which one of them is science process skills. The aim of this research was to empower science process skills through the SETS-based guided experiment book. This Posttest Only Control Group Design study involved 50 students of fifth grade which divided into two groups i.e. 25 students as the experimental group and 25 students as the control group. The activities were carried out for three months outside of school. The empowerment of science process skills was measured from the increasing scores before and after the implementation of the SETS Guided Experiment Book. The results showed that there was a significant different between experimental group and control group as the significancy value was 0.01 (sig. < 0.05). This means that the SETS-based guided experiment book can empower Science process skill of elementary school students.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the effectiveness of Problem Based Instruction model on science process skills of students in the subject of science concepts II PGRI Madiun University. This research was a quasi experiment with quantitative approach. The research design was Posttest Only Control Group Design by using model Problem Based Instruction in the experimental group and the lecture method varies in the control group. The study population was the whole second semester students Prodi PGSD PGRI Madiun University. The sampling technique used cluster random sampling, in order to obtain semeseter 2 class 2D as an experimental group and 2C as a control group. The data collection technique using a multiple choice test and essay, observation sheets, as well as their academic papers. The hypothesis testing using t-test. Normality test was performed using Kolmogorov-Smirnov test with significance of control class 0,332 and experiment class 0,538. Homogeneity test using Levene's test with significance level of 0.532. Hypothesis test results obtained a significance level of 0.00 so that the results of this study concluded that the learning model Problem Based Instruction is effective against science process skills of students in the subject of science concepts II PGRI Madiun University.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk upaya meningkatkan keaktifan dan pemahaman konsep gaya magnet melalui modul kartun berbasis experiential learning pada siswa kelas VI. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan April 2019 di SDN Gelanglor, Kecamatan Sukorejo, Kabupaten Ponorogo. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang terdiri dari tiga siklus yaitu siklus 1, siklus II dan siklus III. Penelitian ini dilakukan enam kali pertemuan dengan materi gaya magnet.Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas VI dengan jumlah peserta didik 29 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan cara observasi dan tes. Hasil menujukkan keaktifan dan pemahaman konsep melalui penerapan modul  kartun berbasis experiential learning meningkat dengan sangat baik. Prosentase peningkatan keaktifan 100% dengan nilai rata-rata keaktifan 93,10 dan pemahaman konsep mencapai 100% dengan nilai rata-rata pemahaman konsep 92,76. Sehingga bisa dilihat kelebihan penerapan modul kartun berbasis experiential learning adalah menjadikan peserta didik lebih aktif, kekurangan dari modul ini adalah membutuhkan waktu yang sangat lama untuk menyiapkan materi pembelajaran yang akan diajarkan. This study aims to improve the activity and understanding of the concept of magnetic force through cartoon modules based on experiential learning in class VI students. The study was conducted in April 2019 at SDN Gelanglor, Sukorejo District, Ponorogo Regency. This type of research is a class action research consisting of three cycles, namely cycle 1, cycle II and cycle III. This study was conducted six times with magnetic force material. Subjects were class VI students with 29 students. Data collection techniques by observation and tests. The results showed activeness and understanding of the concept through the application of experiential learning-based cartoon modules improved very well. The percentage increase of 100% activeness with an average value of 93.10 activeness and understanding of the concept reached 100% with an average value of 92.76 concept understanding. So that it can be seen that the advantages of the application of cartoon modules based on experiential learning is to make students more active, the disadvantage of this module is that it takes a very long time to prepare learning material to be taught.

Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil observasi awal peneliti di kelas V SD Negeri Tawangrejo 05 Kecamatan Gemarang Kabupaten Madiun menunjukkan masih rendahnya hasil belajar peserta pada mata pelajaran IPA. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik pada mata pelajaran IPA materi gaya magnet dengan menggunakan model inquiry berbantuan LKS. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas. Prosedur penelitian tindakan kelas ini berbentuk siklus. Dimana setiap siklus terdiri dari lima tahap yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, refleksi dan rekomendasi. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini yaitu melalui observasi dan tes. Pengumpulan data ini menggunakan instrument berupa lembar observasi keaktifan dan keterampilan peserta didik selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung, sedangkan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar dari peserta didik digunakan tes. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik dari siklus I ke siklus II yaitu pada skor keaktifan peserta didik meningkat sejumlah 21,42%, skor keterampilan peserta didik sejumlah 14,28%, dan tes hasil belajar peserta didik sejumlah 28,57%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa model inquiry dengan berbantuan LKS mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik pada mata pelajaran IPA materi gaya magnet. Based on the results of preliminary observations of researchers in class V SD Negeri Tawangrejo 05 Gemarang District, Madiun shows the low learning outcomes of participants in natural science subjects. This study aims to improve student learning outcomes in science subjects' magnetic force material by using the LKS-assisted inquiry model. This research method uses classroom action research methods. This class action research procedure is in the form of a cycle. The cycle consists of five stages, namely planning, implementing action, observation, reflection, and recommendations. Data collection techniques in this study are through observation and tests. This data collection uses an instrument in the form of an observation sheet of activeness and skills of students during the learning process, while to know the learning outcomes of students using a test. The results of this study indicate an increase in student learning outcomes from cycle I to cycle II, namely the student activity score increased by 21.42%, student skills scores by 14.28%, and student learning outcomes test amounted to 28.57 %. Based on the results of research and discussion, it can be concluded that the inquiry model with LKS-assisted learning can improve student learning outcomes in science subjects' magnetic force material.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop a learning module based Science Technology Society (STS) complete with Mindmap. This research is a development (Research and Development) or the so-called R and D research which refers to the Borg and Gall modified. The research sample development includes: 1) sample field trials beginning some 6 validators; 2) Samples major field trial a number of 10 students of Grade X at Public Senior High School and operational field testing samples of up to 27 students of Grade X at Public Senior High School. The instrument used was a questionnaire, observation sheets, and interviews. Operational field trials using the one group pretest-posttest design. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded learning modules based STS with Mindmap were developed using a development model Borg and Gall through the stages of research and information collecting, planning, develop preliminary form of product, preliminary field testing, main product revision, playing field testing, operational product revision, field operational testing, final product revision, and dissemination and implementation.
