Abstract

East Kalimantan has very much plant diversity of the various ethnic Dayak. One is a plant Tabar Kedayan (Aristolochia foveolata Merr) contained in Malinau district, empirically efficacious as antidiarrheal, antidote (anti-venom), bidder alcohol for drinkers, to the efficacy of this type of p lant Aristolochia foveolata Merr not scientifically confirmed, this is because scientific research is still at least as well as the information contained bioactive compounds in the roots of Aristolochia foveolata Merr which has not been published and similarly with bio logical act ivity is not widely studied. This study aims to determine the chemical constituents of plants Tabar kedayan phytochemical screening form, which includes the bioactivity test toxicity test method Lethaly Brine Shrimp Test, antibacterial act ivity and antio xidant activity. The results of research on phytochemical screening of chemical co mpounds are alkaloids, tannins and flavonoids. Bioactivity test results on the toxicity test method BSLT 0,5,10,25 and 50 pp m concentration with the percentage of death is 0,40,60,80 and 100% level of to xicity of the ethanol extract of the roots of Tabar kedayan 7.269 ppm LC50 values obtained and included in tinggat highly toxic toxicity is 0-250 ug / ml, to test antibakter in Escherichia co li concentration of 5%, 10%, 20%, and 30% inhibition zones formed with anaverage diameter is 4.45 mm, 6.56 mm, 7.86 mm and 8.01 mm, whereas the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus is in order, with a concentration of 5%, 10%, 20% and 30% inhibition zones formed with an ave rage d iameter is 4.49 mm, 5.83 mm, 6.61 mm and 7.55 mm. Test results obtained antio xidant yellow spots after being sprayed DPPH can be concluded that the ethanol extract has antio xidant power.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the ability of meniran ethanol extract (Phyllanthus niruri L.) in inhibiting the growth of Candida albicans. The research design is an experimental study. The extract used was herbal meniran extract made by maceration using 70% ethanol solvent, the content of ethanol extract of meniran tested against Candida albicans using disc diffusion method were 5%, 10%, 20%, 30% and 40%. Activity test conducted on Sabaraound Dextrose agar media that has been smeared with Candida albicans culture which has been standardized with Mc Farland standard. The pre-tested disc paper is first dipped into the extract with various concentrations. Incubated at 30 ° C for 24 hours and the inhibit zone formed was measured. The result showed that herbal ethanol extract of meniran resulted in drag zone diameter at Candida albicans ie 8,5 mm; 10.3 mm; 12.6 mm; 14.1 mm and 14.3 mm, for negative control 0 mm and positive control 20.1 mm. Data obtained from the results of the study were analyzed using one way anova method showed p - value <0,05, it was concluded that there was significant difference between negative control, 5%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and positive control.

Abstract

Kerehau (Callicarpa longifolia Lam) is a plant that has traditionally efficacious as a cure colds and diarrhea. Part used as medicine are the leaves. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of ethanol extract of leaves kerehau on Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. Kerehau leaf extract prepared by maceration method using ethanol 70%, with a test concentration of 10%, 25%, 50%, and 100% and chloramphenicol 0.1% (w / v) as a positive control and dimethyl sulfoxide 1% (v / v) as a negative control. The results of antibacterial activity test with extract concentrations of 25%, 50% and 100% in Escherichia coli is 9.45 mm, 12.21 mm and 17.38 mm, for the positive control is 21.85 mm. The results of antibacterial activity test with extract concentrations of 10%, 25%, 50% and 100% in Staphylococcus aureus was 7.3 mm, 9.85 mm, 13.65 mm and 20.58 mm, for the positive control was 24.05 mm. The antibacterial activity was analyzed by One Way ANOVA showed significant differences between treatments

Abstract

Indonesia has rich tropical forests will be diverse plants that can be used as a traditional medicine, ranging from roots, stems, leaves, until all fruit is of great value and can be used as a medicine for the health as well as from different tribe who were in Indonesia. Since old time sub etnic Kutai using different types of plants as a medicine because the lack of medical personnel and health care center in curing diseases. This study aims to find out the types of medicinal herbs used by tribes. Abstract

Jerawat merupakan penyakit kulit yang disebabkan oleh bakteri salah satunya bakteri Propionibacterium acnes. Penggunaan obat jerawat secara terus menerus dari bahan kimia sintetik dapat menimbulkan efek samping yang merugikan berupa resistensi. Alternatif pengobatan yang digunakan untuk mengatasi masalah jerawat adalah dengan pemanfaatan tanaman glodokan tiang (Polyalthia longifolia S.). Pemanfaatan obat dari tanaman dapat mengurangi terjadinya efek samping yang berbahaya bagi kesehatan kulit dibandingkan senyawa kimia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak etanol daun glodokan tiang terhadap bakteri Propionibacterium acnes. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental. Tahapan penelitian dimulai dengan penyiapan sampel, determinasi, ekstraksi, skrining fitokimia, dan uji antibakteri ekstrak etanol daun glodokan tiang terhadap bakteri Propionibacterium acnes. Pada uji aktivitas dan uji antibakteri menggunakan metode difusi cakram dengan konsentrasi 30%, 40%, dan 50% serta kontrol positif Klindamisin 150 mg dan kontrol negatif dimetil sulfoksida 1%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ekstrak etanol daun glodokan tiang mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder antara lain alkaloid, tanin, flavonoid, dan saponin. Zona hambat yang terbentuk pada konsentrasi 30%, 40%, dan 50% secara berurut adalah 8,83 mm, 9 mm, dan 10,5 mm. Dari ketiga konsentrasi tersebut zona hambat yang paling kuat terdapat pada konsentrasi 50% yaitu sebesar 10,5 mm. Kata Kunci : Propionibacterium acnes, glodokan tiang (Polyalthia longifolia S.), metode difusi cakram.

Abstract

Masa remaja adalah merupakan periode transisi dari masa kanak-kanak menuju masa dewasa yang ditandai dengan perubahan secara fisik, fisologis, dan sosial. Seringkali remaja tidak memiliki cukup pengetahuan dan keterampilan untuk menghadapi masalah sosial dan emosional yang timbul pada masa remaja sehingga remaja melakukan hal-hal yang berbahaya seperti tawuran, merokok, minum minuman keras, penyalahgunaan narkotika dan zat adiktif, hubungan seksual pra-nikah, kehamilan tidak diinginkan, penyakit dan infeksi menular seksual, dan lain-lain.Pelatihan Apoteker Remaja yang dilaksanakan pada tanggal 21-22 Mei 2016 di SMPN 1 Samarinda menghasilkan edukator sebaya sebanyak 112 orang dan pada  tanggal 16-17 Juli 2016 di SMAN 1 Rantau Pulung menghasilkan 44 orang edukator sebaya. Tindak lanjut dari pelatihan adalah pembentukan wadah komunikasi Apoteker Remaja sebagai tempat konseling dan edukasi kesehatan.

Abstract

Abstract. The aim of this study was to formulate ethanolic extract of mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana L.) pericarp (EEMP) in the antiacne cream dosage form. The formulae were made with 3 varied concentrations of 0.5%, 1.5% and 4.5%. The tests carried out in this study were  organoleptic cream preparations (odor, color, texture), homogeneity, pH, determination of the type of cream, spreadability, and the antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus epidermidis. The results of physical property evaluations showed that the EEMP indicated the pH value of 6, the spredability of the cream increased along with the increasing length of storage time. Duncan Test on the measurement of diameter dispersibility based on storage time showed that there were significant differences between the spreadability of the cream B and C. The cream produced was easy to wash indicating oil in water (o/w) type. The results of antibacterial activity test applying agar diffusion method using Mueller Hinton medium Agar (MHA) indicated that the inhibition zones of formulae II and III were 5.2 and 6 mm, respectively. Whereas, the formula I as well as the negative control showed no inhibition zones. It can be concluded that the EEMP can be formulated as an antiacne cream. The best cream formula was the formula II with the results of physical properties test were quite stable and able to produce inhibition zone against Staphylococcus epidermidis.   Keywords: Garcinia mangostana, cream, antiacne, antibacterial, Staphylococcus epidermidis.

Abstract

Bawang tiwai (Eleutherine bulbosa (Mill.) Urb.) acts as an antibacterial because it contains a class of alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, glycosides, triterpinoida / steroid, anthraquinone glycosides.Bawang tiwai onions can be used as an antibacterial active ingredient formulated in a gel hand sanitizer. The purpose of this study to determine the effect of varying concentrations of alcohol on the physical properties of gel preparation and inhibition of E.coli bacteria which are formulated in the form of a gel hand sanitizer bawang tiwai extract. Research conducted on fomula gel hand sanitizer bawang tiwai extract with various concentrations of alcohol F1 0%, F2 10%, F3 20%, F4 60% include (organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, dispersive power, consistency and viscosity) and continued with test inhibition of E. coli using disc diffusion method (Kirby-Bauer) in F1 0%, 10% F2, F3 20%, K (-) 60% and K (+) Triclosan 0.1%. Data were analyzed with SPSS 16.0 using Kruskal Wallis test with a level of 95%, ? = 0.05. Abstract

Acne is one of the skin diseases that disturbs the appearance especially of teenagers. Some types of bacteria that cause acne is Propionibacterium acnes. An alternative natural ingredient that can be used to treat acne is kecombrang flowers (Etlingera elatior (Jack) R.M.Sm.). The purpose of this study was to determine whether the kecombrang ethanol extract has antibacterial activity against the bacteria that caused acne, and to know the effective concentration of the ethanol extract of the kecombrang flower on the bacteria that caused the acne. The research conducted was experimental research. The stages of the study began from the determination of the sample, the manufacture of simplicia powder, extraction of kecombrang flowers using the maceration method, phytochemical screening and antibacterial activity test using the disc diffusion method. The concentrations of extract used in the testing of antibacterial activity were 20%, 40%, 60% and 80%. The results showed that the ethanol extract of the kecombrang flower contained secondary metabolites in the form of flavonoids and saponins. The results of the testing of the antibacterial activity showed that the ethanol extract of the kecombrang flowers had a medium activity at a concentration of 80% against the Propionibacterium acnes bacteria with a inhibition zone of 7,67 mm. Keywords:       Kecombrang flowers (Etlingera elatior (Jack) R.M.Sm.), Antibacterial activity test, Propionibacterium acnes

Abstract

Daerah padat penduduk di Samarinda Kalimantan Timur salah satunya adalah Kelurahan Teluk Lerong. Didaerah ini terdapat banyak pedagang bakso, nasi goreng dan jajanan gorengan. Sebagian besar pedagang ini menggunakan bahan pelengkap berupa saus baik saus cabai maupun saus tomat. Mahalnya saus kemasan, mengakibatkan sebagian besar pedagang menggunakan saus kiloan dengan harga murah. Permasalahan yang dihadapi adalah minimnya pengetahuan mengenai dampak kesehatan penggunaan saus kiloan yang tidak terjamin mutu dan kualitasnya, mengakibatkan terjadinya penurunan derajat kesehatan di masyarakat. Hal ini juga menjadi perhatian bagi para ibu rumah tangga dalam mensiasati pembuatan saus dengan kualitas baik, aman bagi kesehatan keluarga dan harga murah.Solusi yang diberikan dari masalah diatas adalah dengan memberikan pelatihan kepada para ibu-ibu yang berada di Kelurahan Teluk Lerong (Jalan Raudah RT. 10) dalam pembuatan saus dari limbah kulit buah naga merah sebagai saus sehat untuk keluarga. Adapun peserta dari pelatihan ini adalah para ibu-ibu yang tergabung dalam kelompok pengajian Raudhatul Khair. Pelatihan ini dibagi menjadi 3 materi, yaitu materi mengenai nilai gizi dan kandungan dari saus dan buah naga merah, praktek pembuatan saus dari kulit buah naga merah dan pelatihan pengemasan saus.
