Abstract

This study aims to investigate water domestic demand of people living in coastal area of Bandar Lampung City. The location of the study is in the Sukaraja area, Bumi Waras Sub-district, Bandar Lampung City. Data mining of household water demand is undertaken by using questionnaire to 65 households. It is indicated from the survey that every household averagely consits of 4 persons. Everry person spends about IDR 368 for 103.4 l of water domestic in daily basis. Daily water domestic demand of the people in the are study is quite different from the standard daily water domestic demand percapita. This deviation is due to the differences in the aspect of social and economy between the people in the are study and ordinary people

Abstract

The basic principles of water conservation is to prevent the water lost as surface streams and save them as fully as possible into the body of the Earth. A form of utilization of rain water can be done by way of accommodating direct rainwater that falls on the surface of the Earth or water infiltrate into the ground. The first way is the direct way to reuse the rainwater that falls onto the surface of the ground by creating a pond or tub of rainwater collectors. Ways of utilization of rain water with water infiltrate into the soil can be done by make: infiltration well; and/or the infiltration hole biopori. Infiltration Hole Biopori is one technology that has been developed by Brata, these technologies effectively to reduce the potential for flooding and increase soil water reserves through utilization of rain water. Method of making Hole Resapan Biopori it has been widely de- veloped in some area (Jakarta, Jogjakarta etc.), because the technology is so cheap, easy and effi - cient. In the city of Bandar Lampung, the utilization of rain water has not done much, only a few establishments that have been doing this activity. The Agency has articulated the rainwater uti- lization progam was TAPS and AGENCY. At the community level city Bandar Lampung, the use of biopori still sound familiar so that the required infiltration hole making biopori socialization. Making the biopori infiltration hole, it can provide convenience for people living in crowded envi - ronments with land/environment is limited given the size of the biopori infiltration small hole with a diameter of 10 cm and a depth of 100 cm. Making the biopori infiltration hole it can provide in- put infiltration rain water into the ground to become groundwater. In order to perform groundwa - ter conservation through utilization of rain water by making biopori infiltration hole.

Abstract

University of Lampung as one of the first and oldest public university in Lampung Province is one of the best universities in the region of Sumatra and continuously improve the quality of its academic, with the Accreditation A. Enhancement and infrastructure facilities university of Lampung continue, so can improving the academic quality or non-academic. The form of non-academic quality improvement is the environmental arrangement of one of its plans development of drainage system. This is intended to solve some of the flooding puddles that occurred at the time rainy season arrives because not optimal condition of existing drainage in University of Lampung region . The analysis conducted in this research includes hydrology analysis and hydraulics analysis using HEC-RAS 4.1.0 application. Hydrology analysis aims to calculate the design discharge using rational methods and modeling with HEC-RAS 4.1.0 application aims to determine the capacity of the water level existing channel. So it can be known where the position of the flood point and planning the new channel dimensions. Based on the analysis, the need for planning new drainage at some point indicating the occurrence of run off and inundation at Kantin Teknik Prasmanan. Planning of absorption wells and retention ponds is also very needed to overcome the problem of frequent flooding in Faculty of Engineering. It is also necessary to maintain channel maintenance in the form of channel normalization, garbage retaining lattice installation, and periodic cleaning of channels.Keywords: hydrology, hydraulics, HEC-RAS 4.1.0, drainage, absorption wells, andretention ponds.

Abstract

Bad water resource management caused water availability unable to be fulfiled to the maximum level throughout the year, especially in the dry season. The water crisis becomes a difficult problem because  the tendency of people’s anticipation only glued to the conventional water sources which are susceptible to dry out, such as wells and others. This study aimed to determine the condition of surface runoff resources in the Bandar Lampung city. And also to provide a solution of problems that often occur in the Bandar Lampung city, especially in the dry season. This research conducted using MWGIS software as a program for making geographical information of Bandar Lampung city conditions in general and  rivers condition specifically. In this digital era, information of rivers based on digital data are required for society and the government as an instrument to establish decisions and policies in the management of surface runoff resources, especially in case of rivers in Bandar Lampung city. The output from MWGIS is an illustration of a geographical condition of Bandar Lampung city which in simple form map contains a variety of information that related to the geographical conditions, such as land cover data, topography, slopes, rivers, districts, villages and many others depend on how far the manufacturing database / information in MWGIS required.

Abstract

Lampung University as one of the first and oldest universities in Lampung Province is one of the best universities in Sumatra and continues to improve its academic quality, and have A Accreditation. The improvement of Lampung University facilities and infrastructure is continuously conducted in order to improve both academic and non-academic quality. The form of non-academic quality improvement is environmental arrangement with the drainage system planning. It is intended to solve some of the flood puddles that occurred during the rainy season due to the lack of optimal condition of existing drainage in the University of Lampung.The analysis conducted in this research includes hydrological analysis and hydraulics analysis. Hydrological analysis aimed to calculate the discharge plan using rational method and hydraulic analysis aims to calculate the capacity of existing drainage channels. So we can know the position of the flood point and planning the new channel dimension.Based on the analysis of the flood point occurred at DN15 cross section with 9.5 m long overflow which is located in front of the entrance portal of Faculty of Mathematics and Sciences. There are also some new drainage section design at DN63 point along 56 m, DN64 along 45 m and DN65 along 67 m as they are still a natural drainage. It is also necessary to give the drainage channel maintenance by channel normalization, garbage retaining lattice installation, and periodic cleaning of channels.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk memberikan informasi dan gambaran umum kepada masyarakat tentang air tanah yang ada dengan cara menginventarisasi, mengeksploitasi, mengeksplorasi dan konservasi air tanah di Kota Bandar Lampung. Studi ini menggunakan program Geographic Information System (GIS) yang didukung dengan data sekunder berupa peta Bandar Lampung, data air tanah serta data curah hujan. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan digitasi terhadap peta yang terdiri dari peta kondisi eksisting Bandar Lampung yang selanjutnya dioverlay dengan titik lokasi sumur bor menggunakan program GIS. Selain proses digitasi, dilakukan pula analisa neraca air tanah yakni antara tinggi air pengambilan sumur bor dengan tinggi hujan yang terinfiltrasi. Hasil dari penelitian didapatkan nilai keseimbangan air di tiap zona infiltrasi pada tahun 2006 yakni untuk zona infiltrasi <1.10-2 cm/detik selisihnya sebesar 7,909 m/tahun, zona infiltrasi antara 1.10-2 - 2.10-2 cm/detik selisih 7,896 m/tahun dan zona infiltrasi > 2.10-2 cm/detik 7,881 m/tahun. Jika diasumsikan setiap tahun mengalami peningkatan jumlah sumur sebesar 10% maka pada tahun 2016, untuk zona infiltrasi <1.10-2 cm/detik selisihnya sebesar 7,896 m/tahun, zona infiltrasi antara 1.10-2 - 2.10-2 cm/detik selisih 7,863 m/tahun dan zona infiltrasi >2.10-2 m/detik 7,823 m/tahun. Dari hasil analisa tersebut bisa disimpulkan pada tahun 2016 air tanah masih mencukupi untuk kebutuhan Kota Bandar Lampung, namun jika di lanjutkan sampai tahun 2079 kemungkinan akan mengalami krisis air tanah.Kata kunci : air tanah, neraca air, Geographics Information System (GIS)

Abstract

Way Besai river is located in Sumberjaya subdistrict, West Lampung district, Lampung. It is one of the sub river from Tulang Bawang river. Way Besai river has been used as a the electric power source, known as Besai hydropower. Besai Hydropower has decreased energy supply of 40 MW from the supply optimum can reachs 90 MW. his is due to the catcment area conditions of the Way Besai rivers are "metastable" so which effected in the shallowing of the cross-section quickly. So it needs the capacity increased of the cross-section of the river until the early condition where is the supply can reachs 90 MW.For the first step in improving the capacity of the Way Besai river needed hydraulics river simulation process that facilitated by using Hydrologic Engineering Center-River Analysis System (HEC-RAS) Program. HEC-RAS program can help to modeling the flow of cross-section of the river on the existing condition and normalization using the steady flow options and data input including maximum discharge data. The output of modeling using HEC-RAS program can be seen in the form of pictures and a table that presents the characteristics of a cross-section of the river.From the result of the analysis founded that to reach the normalization condition, needs the dredging until the elevation +713,00 level, with 2.435.590,09 m3 of volume capacity of dredging. When the water level of the river reachs Full Supply Level (FSL) elevation that is on elevation +722,00 level founded that the maximum discharge in the downstream in the amount of 57,19 m3/s, with water volume capacity in the 1.471.185,77 m3. For the Reservoir Surface Area in Way Besai river has increased with 28,6% from the exsisting condition that recorded from Sta 0+000 level until sta 3+391,45 level Keywords: Debit ,HEC-RAS, Manning calibration , Normalization, River.

Abstract

Drainage is a way  for removal of excess water with a solution about excess of water. Nevertheless, a lot of drainage systems have a bad performance and out of its function. One of them is drainage system in Lampung University around Al-Wasi’i Mosque-Lampung University statue. One of the solution is environmental arrangement and one of the environmental arrangement is redesign of drainage system. It aim for resolve some flood inundationthat happened  in the rain because failed optimilize in drainage system aroun Al-Wasi’i Mosque-Lampung University statue. The analysis conducted in this research includes hydrology analysis and hydraulics analysis using HEC-RAS 4.1.0 application. Hydrology analysis aims to calculate the design discharge using rational, haspers and weduwen methods and modeling with HEC-RAS 4.1.0 application aims to determine the capacity of the water level  existing channel. So it can be known where the position of the flood point and planning the new channel dimensions. Based on the analysis, the need for dredging at D8-D10 indicating the occurrence of run off  and inundation at across of Al-Wasi’i Mosque. Planning of infiltration wells is also very needed to overcome the problem of frequent flooding in Faculty of Engineering. It is also necessary to decrease run-off discharge in channel around Al-Wasi’i mosque’s areas.The necessary is did concrete lining in base and two-side of channel.

Abstract

Clay is a type of soil that has high water content and generally has a low soil carrying capacity.  This can cause problems when the soil will be built a construction on it.  Clay will easily saturated when the rainy season comes so that the soil water content therein increases which makes its carrying capacity decreased.  The addition of matos and rice husk ash is one of the methods to stabilize the soil.  With this method, this research is expected to know the effect of the addition of these substances in saturation condition by reviewing the research samples on the value of CBR immersion. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Soil Mechanics Faculty of Engineering, University of Lampung by making optimum sample which has the highest CBR value then searched the effect of adding the duration of immersion in 7, 14, 21, and 28 days.  The soil samples taken from Sidorejo village, Sidomulyo subdistrict, South Lampung are clay soil which has the original soil CBR value of 7.3% and 31.8% in the CBR optimum curing soil mixture.The soil stabilization method experienced by the sample showed a decrease of CBR value from 15.5% on the duration of the immersion time of 7 days to 8% in the duration of the 28 day immersion time.  This decreased immersion CBR value indicates that the addition of the duration of the immersion time resulted in the CBR value of the soil mixed soil samples decreasing as the soaking time of the soil samples grew. Keywords : Matos, immersion CBR, Rice Husk Ash, Clay.

Abstract

Water problems consist of three types: flood, drought, and water pollution. Floods are recognized as a significant source of threat to human life. One of the flood prevention actions that can be done is to optimize the drainage channels. Drainage can be defined as a technical action to reduce excess water so that the function of the area or land is not disturbed. University of Lampung is one of the locations prone to flooding. Therefore, a research to overcome the flood that occurred at the University of Lampung has been conducted (Case Study: Zone III Rectorate Area - Faculty of Agriculture). The purposes of this research are to analyze the drainage system of University of Lampung and to design drainage system that fulfill flood discharge plan. The research was conducted by survey in the field. The analysis conducted in this study include hydrological analysis and hydraulics analysis using HEC-RAS4.1.0 application. Calculation of discharge plan using rational method.. Based on the analysis results, there are no channels that are not sufficient for flood discharge, but there are some channels that are disconnected and cause the water to not flow. The disconnected channels are located on the channel with the DN5 and DN62 codes. For that, it is recommended to create a channel connecting DN62 channel with DN63, and make a channel on channel DN5 to DN65. The budget required for the repair of this channel is Rp 207,203,725.00 (Two Hundred Seven Million Two Hundred and Three Thousand Seven Hundred Twenty Five Rupiah).Keywords: Drainage, HEC-RAS, hydrology, hydraulics, floods
