Dewey requires that education must involve students directlywith investigation and experimentation. The material is taught to be somethingpractical in life. In addition, the school must be democratic so that it reflects thesocial system represented the school. Abstract

Chitosan can be obtained from chitin isolated from shrimp waste through the process of deacetylation of chitin. Chitosan can be used as a patch base material because of its biocompatibility and biodegradability, and has antibacterial activity. The combination of Chitosan and Aloe vera extracts may be useful in patch dosage forms as wound dressings that have antiinfective activity. The research methods was laboratory experimental which consists of : chitosan was obtained from shell waste sequentially by deproteinisation, demineralisation, and deacetylation processes, and analyzed its characteristic, respectivel; Aloe vera gel was extraction by maceration methods using ethanol as solvent; patches were formulated using 2 % chitosan in 1.5 % glacial acetic acid,  1.6 %  Aloe vera extracts and 10 % glycerin and evaluated its physical propoperties,  skin iritation test, and antibacterial test against S.aureus. The results showed that percentage yield of chitosan was 32.67%, with characteristics; Its viscosity 93.33 cps, pH 4, 30 % deacetylation degree.  Percentage yield of Aloe vera  extract was 22.73%, containing acemannan, and had antibacterial activity against S.aureus.  The result of patch evaluation showed that the thickness of patch was 0.45 mm, 114 times folding endurance, moisture uptake of 45.03%, moisture content of 23.64%, safe to use, and  diameter of inhibition zone was 6.39 mm against S.aureus. So, combination of Aloe vera and Chitosan from shrimp shell as patch may use as antiinfection wound healing.  Keywords : Aloe vera L.; chitosan; wound dressing; patch; shrimp shell waste

Abstract

Historically, the surau has become an important means (institution/agency) in terms of community development and enlightenment, particularly in religious learning and cultivation of moral values. In addition, the surau-based education had a significant reputation with regard to the spread of Islam to various regions and the area around an island and beyond, and probably to other countries. As a means of religious education, we can still find surau until now, although its role and function are no longer the same as they were in the past, in which educational activities of Islam in the early days of its growth were carried out under the surau educational system. Thus, since the beginning of the spread of Islam to Indonesia, surau has contributed the shape and pattern of its own in the Islamic educational system

Abstract

History of the leadership at the time of the Caliph Abu Bakr Al-Shiddiq has a very important meaning in the history of the Islamic Ummat. The reasons for this, among them are: first, the leadership or the Caliph at that time could not be separated from power and if it was not in accordance with the wishes of the people, then it might have caused a conflict; second, a leader is not just a matter of like or dislike, but many factors play an important role such the viewpoint or approach that is used, whether it is his personality, skills, talent, characters or authority he has; third, regardless of the differences of opinion about who is entitled to occupy the office of the Caliphate, which history has proven clearly that Abu Bakr became the First democratically elected Caliph in the history of Islam. The "Riddah" war was as evidence of the accomplishment of Caliph Abu Bakr Al-Shiddiq, by displaying two prominent characters i.e. his gentleness that he showed to the Muslims who committed sin, and his firmness in dealing with Muslims who rebelled. Not only did he manage to uphold the Government of Medina that was on the brink of collapse and reunite the divided tribes, but he also managed to Islamize the tribes that were previously hostile to Islam.

Abstract

The article reveals the concept of dualism in unity along with ma?rifah in KH. Asrori Ishaqi?s perspective. This article finds that dualism in unity to reach ma?rifah in Kiai Asrori?s perspective rests in his conception about God through what so-called al-Ah}ad and al-Wâ?id as well as al-Wujûd and al-Kawn. He emphasizes that there is no al-Wujûd (existence) but Allah?s. It is, therefore, all creatures? existence is embraced within God?s existence. Al-Kawn?on the other side?is everything which exists and will exist, in which God has known them already and determined their fate. The concept of al-A?ad emphasizes that Allah is All The One in His Essence in advance of His Asmâ? (Names) and Attributes. Al-Wâ?id means All The One in His Asmâ? and Attributes after the emanation of the two over His creatures. In accordance with human?s existence, Kiai Asrori states that humans are created from spiritual realm and the physical one. It seems that Kiai Asrori would emphasize that though Allah is The Almighty and unreachable, the humans can still?in another dimension?reach Him through the emanation of His Asmâ? with murâqabah using their reasons, understanding, and hearts. Kiai Asrori is an advocate to monistic Sufism and at the same time he also a proponent of dualistic Sufism.

Abstract

This writing aims to observe how Indonesian Council of Ulama (MUI) in West Kalimantan responds the appearance of Gafatar sect in West Kalimantan. In fact, the branch of MUI in Indonesia could not deliver the fatwa that Gafatar was misguided sect. Moreover, the MUI of West Kalimantan Province should firstly consult the central MUI in Jakarta before stating the misguided fatwa. Besides, the fatwas of central and regional MUI have generally the similar position and could not abort one another. Should there are some differences, both leaders of MUI (central and regional) could discuss to find the solution.
