Abstract

Flies are insects meperupakan fototropik is like light. At night off, but can be activated by the presence of artificial light. Fototropik properties form the basis for controlling flies fly population by using a Light Trap. Therefore, research on the effectiveness of Trap Light Lowering Population In house flies (Musca domestica) are particularly relevant to be implemented.This study aimed to calculate the population of house flies (Musca domestica) before using Light Trap, counting house fly populations (Musca domestica) after using Light Trap, counting the number of flies caught on Light Trap, counting insects can be caught light trap, calculating the effectiveness decline in house fly populations (Musca domestica) using Light Trap and calculate the effectiveness of light traps in catching flies.This type of research is experimental, by applying the tool Light Trap at the diner kitchen study sampled. Measurements of temperature, humidity, density of flies before and after the application of tools and light intensity performed at the study site. While the identification of the type and number of insects trapped done in the laboratory.The results showed that populations of the house fly (Musca domestica) on average before using Light Trap 3 tails / grill block, while the population of flies after use Light Trap is 2.67 head / block grill. Average flies caught 31 fish / trap. Insects that can trap the light caught; fly home 651 tail; 628 tail flying insects as mosquitoes 91 tail; ant 79 tail; butterfly 60 head; wasp 2 heads, spiders and beetles 1 tail. Effectiveness of light traps in catching flies 97% compared to controls.

Abstract

AbstrakDemam berdarah dengue ditularkan oleh nyamuk Aedes aegypti yang menjadi vektor utama. Cara yangpaling banyak dilakukan untuk mengurangi populasi vektor nyamuk DBD stadium larva adalah denganbahan kimia yang membahayakan kesehatan manusia. Banyak cara yang aman untuk membunuh vektorpenyakit DBD dan mencegah berkembangnya, salah satunya dengan menggunakan insektisida hayati By-Vii. By Vii adalah agen hayati yang didalamnya terdapat kandungan aktif jamur Beauveria bassianaTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis konsentrasi By-Vii yang paling efektif terhadapkematian larva Aedes aegypti. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah True Experimentdengan rancangan post test only control group design untuk menghitung kematian larva Aedes aegyptipada konsentrasi 10%, 20%, dan 30% larutan By-Vii. Hasil penelitian larutan By-Vii terhadap kematianlarva Aedes aegypti mempunyai signifikasi 0,91 (>0,05) yang berarti tidak ada pengaruh konsentrasi By-Vii terhadap kematian larva Aedes aegypti konsentrasi 10% dengan kematian 9,3%, konsentrasi 20%dengan kematian 8%, dan konsentrasi 30% dengan kematian 13,3%.Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah larutan By-Vii mampu membunuh larva Aedes aegypti sebesar 13,3%.Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa larutan By-Vii tidak efektif digunakan sebagai larvasida. Diharapkanpenelitian selanjutnya menggunakan waktu pajanan By-Vii terhadap larva lebih dari 48 jam danmenambah konsentrasinya untuk mengetahui keefektifan produk By-Vii.

Abstract

Background Industrial activity important for economic growth but also adversely affects health such as PM10 particulate emissions. Environmental Protection Agency in the World Bank, estimates that 90% of air-fired PM10 contains sulfur dioxide (SO2). From the results of several studies known dust particles (PM10) can cause inflammation of the airways and can trigger the occurrence of asthma (Darmono, 2010 and ATSDR, 2011). The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of PM10 exposure in air to respiratory system complaints. This type of research uses observational analytics. The method used is cross sectional. The sample in this study were 32 respondents exposed group and 32 respondents group not exposed. The results showed that the mean intake of PM10 was 0.16663 mg / kg / day in the exposed group and 0.04252 in the unexposed group. While percentage of respondents who have respiratory system complaints that is as much as 65.6% in the exposed group and 34.4% in the group not exposed. It is conclude based on the result of multiple logistic regression test that is variables that influence the respiratory system complaints yatu intake PM 10 with p value equal to 0,048 and history of respiratory disease with p value 0,039 (p value <0,05). Suggestion from the results of this study is expected to make some efforts to prevent particulate entry into the home and the government is expected to monitor the quality of the environment on a regular basis as material consideration of the extension of industrial permit.
