Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of comics as a media in mathematics learning. This research was conducted in home schooling "Sekolah Dolan" Malang with research subjects is students of class VII. The data collection of this study uses questionnaire about media selection, questionnaires about student response and unstructured interviews. The percentage of the results media selection questionnaire obtained as much as 55% of students chose to use comics as learning media and the percentage of student responses questionnaires obtained 88.58% responses of students are positive to use comics. Based on the assessment category, it was concluded that comics were effectively used as learning media. This is because comics contain many colors and images and when changing learning material into comics, the material will become easier because the material is delivered in the daily conversation.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pemanfaatan komik sebagai media dalam pembelajaran Matematika. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Homeschooling ?Sekolah Dolan? Malang dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas VII. Pengumpulan data penelitian ini menggunakan angket pemilihan media, angket respon siswa dan wawancara tidak terstruktur. Persentase hasil data angket pemilihan media diperoleh sebanyak 55% siswa memilih menggunakan komik sebagai media pembelajaran dan persentase hasil angket respon siswa diperoleh 88,58% respons siswa positif terhadap penggunaan komik. Berdasarkan kategori penilaian, maka disimpulkan bahwa komik efektif digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran. Hal tersebut dikarenakan komik memuat banyak warna dan gambar serta apabila mengubah materi pembelajaran ke dalam komik, maka materi akan menjadi lebih mudah karena materi disampaikan dalam bentuk percakapan sehari-hari.

Abstract

Abstract: This qualitative research aims to describe students' ability to solve open-ended problems based on fluency, flexibility, and novelty aspects. The study was conducted at MTsN 1 Malang. The subjects in this study were four students. The instruments used were interview guidelines and open-ended problem test. The results of this research confirm that highly ability students are able to think broadly and apply many ideas so that they are flexible in making a flat build. He fulfils the fluency, flexibility and novelty aspects. Moderate students are less able to bring up and apply many ideas in answering open-ended problems so that they meet the fluency and flexibility or fluency aspects only. Low-ability students are unable to bring up and apply many ideas to produce many answers so that they do not fulfil all three aspects.Abstrak: Penelitian kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah open-ended berdasarkan aspek fluency, flexibility, dan novelty. Penelitian dilaksanakan di MTsN 1 Malang. Subjek dalam penelitian ini sebanyak empat siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan pedoman wawancara dan lembar tes masalah open-ended. Hasil penelitiannya siswa berkemampuan tinggi mampu berpikir secara luas dan menerapkan banyak ide sehingga fleksibel dalam membuat bangun datar. Ia memenuhi aspek fluency, flexibility, dan novelty. Siswa berkemampuan sedang kurang dapat memunculkan dan menerapkan banyak ide dalam menjawab masalah open-ended sehingga memenuhi aspek fluency dan flexibility atau fluency saja. Siswa berkemampuan rendah tidak mampu memunculkan dan menerapkan banyak ide untuk menghasilkan banyak jawaban sehingga tidak memenuhi ketiga aspek.

Abstract

This study is a qualitative and placed in UPT SMPLBN Kota Pasuruan. Subjects in this study is a blind student of class IX of the school year 2015/2016. The results showed that the thinking of blind students starts from the stimulus, stimulus in the form of problem enter into the sensory registers of blind students through the sense of tactile and auditory, and into short-term memory after previously through a phase of selective attention and perception, in the short-term memory old information in the form of concepts that are needed in solving the problem called from long-term memory (retrieval), when information leaves short-term memory, there are two possibilities occur that information will lead to long-term memory (encoding) and or will be forwarded towards the environment in the form of responses/answers to students.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dan bertempat di UPT SMPLBN Kota Pasuruan. Subjek dalam penelitian ini merupakan seorang siswa tunanetra dari kelas IX tahun ajaran 2015/2016. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses berpikir siswa tunanetra dimulai dari adanya stimulus, stimulus berupa soal masuk ke dalam sensory register siswa tunanetra melalui indra perabaan dan indra pendengaran, kemudian memasuki short-term memory setelah sebelumnya melalui tahap selective attention dan perception, dalam short-term memory informasi lama berupa konsep-konsep yang dibutuhkan dalam menyelesaikan masalah dipanggil dari long-term memory (retrieval), ketika informasi meninggalkan short-term memory, ada dua kemungkinan yang terjadi yaitu informasi akan menuju ke long-term memory (encoding) dan atau akan diteruskan menuju lingkungan berupa respon/jawaban siswa.

Abstract

The determine of this study is explain the thinking process of high and low performing students in solving mathematical problems, so classified in qualitative research. The data collection is done by the provision of initial tests, giving the final test, and interviews with the study subjects after solving mathematical problems. The results showed that high-ability student fulfills the know, want, and introduce at the stage of entry. In the attack phase fulfills the try, maybe, and why. At this stage of the reviews meet the check and reflect aspects. Low-ability students meet aspects know and want the entry stage. In the attack phase fulfills the try and do a review on the stage of mathematical problem solving.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses berpikir siswa berkemampuan tinggi dan rendah dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika, sehingga tergolong dalam penelitian kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pemberian tes awal, pemberian tes akhir, dan wawancara terhadap subjek penelitian setelah menyelesaikan masalah matematika. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa berkemampuan tinggi memenuhi aspek know, want, dan introduce pada tahap entry. Pada tahap attack memenuhi aspek try, maybe, dan why. Pada tahap review memenuhi aspek check dan reflect. Siswa berkemampuan rendah memenuhi aspek know dan want pada tahap entry. Pada tahap attack memenuhi aspek try dan tidak melakukan tahapan review pada penyelesaian masalah matematika.

Abstract

Abstract: Mathematics is a science that is rich concept, where the concept of one another have relevance. In connection with the concept, there is a common mistake made by students are misconceptions. The misconception is that most fatal errors compared to other errors. Because he tends to defend himself when he was given awarning. So the study has the aim to describe misconception that occurs in radical numbers. Subjects in this study were junior high school students of class IX who have misconceptions on radical numbers based on the results of diagnostic tests misconception comes with a confidence level of students in working on the problem. The results showed that students have misconceptions on the concepts and properties that exist in the form of roots.Abstrak: Matematika merupakan suatu ilmu yang kaya akan konsep, dimana antara konsep yang satu dengan yang lain memiliki keterkaitan. Berkaitan dengan konsep, terdapat suatu kesalahan yang biasa dilakukan oleh siswa yaitu miskonsepsi. Miskonsepsi merupakan kesalahan yang paling fatal dibandingkan dengan kesalahan yang lainnya. Karena ia cenderung membela dirinya ketika ia diberi peringatan. Maka penelitian memiliki tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan miskonsepsi yang terjadi pada materi bentuk akar. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP kelas IX yang mengalami miskonsepsi pada materi bentuk akar berdasarkan hasil tes diagnostik miskonsepsi yang dilengkapi dengan tingkat keyakinan siswa dalam mengerjakan soal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa mengalami miskonsepsi pada konsep dan sifat-sifat yang ada pada bentuk akar.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to describe students writing mathematical communication of high-ability (ST), medium (SS), low (SR) in solving problem. The research data was obtained by analyzing the answer sheets of three subjects based on writing mathematical communication indicators. The result of this research are, (1) ST can write what is known and asked, construct Venn diagram and do the calculation correctly, (2) SS can write what is known and asked, construct Venn diagram and do the calculation of problem 2 correctly, but on problem 3 SS still make any mistake on constructing Venn diagram and doing the calculation, (3) SR can write what is known and asked, but SR has not made Venn diagram and done the calculation appropriately.Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan komunikasi matematis tulis siswa berkemampuan tinggi (ST), sedang (SS), rendah (SR) dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Data penelitian diperoleh dari analisis lembar jawaban tiga subjek dianalisis berdasarkan indikator komunikasi matematis tulis. Hasil penelitian adalah, (1) ST dapat menuliskan apa yang diketahui dan ditanya, membuat diagram Venn dan melakukan perhitungan dengan tepat, (2) SS dapat menuliskan apa yang diketahui dan ditanya, membuat diagram Venn dan melakukan perhitungan pada masalah 2 dengan tepat, namun pada masalah 3 SS masih melakukan kesalahan dalam membuat diagram Venn dan perhitungan, (3) SR dapat menuliskan apa yang diketahui dan ditanya, tetapi SR belum membuat diagram Venn dan melakukan perhitungan dengan tepat.

Abstract

The Mathematics students who perform truth-seeking process upon solving mathematical problems were unique. Therefore, the study deems it necessary to know students’ mental structure and mechanism so that they can make the right decision by performing truth-seeking. However, no research has delved into the mental structures and mechanisms of Mathematics students, who tend to grapple with truth-seeking processes extensively. This study was explorative qualitative because the aims to describe the types of mental structure and mechanism of Mathematics students upon the truth-seeking process in solving mathematical problems. The research subjects are four Mathematics students at the University of Jember who perform truth-seeking and can communicate fluently when performing think-aloud. Their responses in the answer sheets drove the determination of research subjects tendency in truth-seeking. Afterward, the results of think-aloud and task-based interview were put under analysis, so as to determine the types of mental structure and mechanism. The research findings have indicated that (1) all mental structures have been constructed by all research subjects and (2) two types of mental mechanism are evident among the subjects, including the process of interiorization coupled with coordination and another process encompassing interiorization, coordination, and reversal.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe the defragmentation process of SMAN 4 Malang 12th grade impulsive students’ thinking structure on solving word problem. Two selected subjects do the initial test by think aloud method, interview process, and evaluation test. The results of this study shows that students’ errors on understanding the word problem and carrying out the plan steps can be fixed through disequlibration, conflict cognitive, and scaffolding intervention; students’ errors on devising a plan step can be fixed through disequlibration intervention; students’ errors on looking back step can be fixed through disequlibration and scaffolding intervention.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses defragmentasi struktur berpikir siswa impulsif kelas XII SMAN 4 Malang dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita. Dua subjek penelitian yang terpilih melaksanakan tes awal dengan metode think aloud, wawancara, serta tes evaluasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kesalahan siswa pada tahap memahami soal cerita dan melaksanakan rencana penyelesaian dapat diperbaiki melalui intervensi disequlibrasi, conflict cognitive, dan scaffolding; kesalahan siswa pada tahap merencanakan strategi penyelesaian dapat diperbaiki melalui intervensi disequlibrasi; serta kesalahan siswa pada tahap memeriksa kembali prosedur dan hasil penyelesaian dapat diperbaiki melalui intervensi disequlibrasi dan scaffolding.

Abstract

Abstract: This development research aims to describe the process and results of student book development based on problem solving. This study uses the model of Plomp development and research subjects are students of class IXA MTs Attaraqqie Malang. The test results show that the validity of the students’ book is valid and the score obtained 3.37. The test results of practicality of the model teacher and two observers is pratical and the scores obtained respectively 3.84 and 3.32.Abstrak: Penelitian pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses dan hasil pengembangan buku siswa berbasis pemecahan masalah. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan Plomp dan subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IXA MTs Attaraqqie Kota Malang. Hasil uji kevalidan menunjukkan bahwa buku siswa memenuhi kriteria valid yaitu skor yang diperoleh 3,37. Hasil uji kepraktisan dari guru model dan dua observer memenuhi kriteria praktis yaitu skor yang diperoleh berturut-turut 3,84 dan 3,32.

Abstract

Abstract: The research purpose is to describe guided inquiry learning to improve students’ conceptual understanding and procedural fluency in trigonometry of X graders of senior high school. The research method used was Classroom Action Research. The research subjects were 34 students of X graders of MIPA 1 SMAN 7 Malang. Guided inquiry learning results were obtained through stimulation, problem identification, data collection, data processing, verification, and conclusion. The research can improve students’ conceptual understanding and procedural fluency which are indicated by students’score greater than or equal to 75 or 76% and average percentage improvement of final cycle test score based on conceptual understanding and procedural fluency indicator.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing yang dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konseptual dan kelancaran prosedural siswa materi trigonometri kelas X SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan model Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Subjek penelitian yaitu 34 siswa kelas X MIPA 1 SMAN 7 Malang. Hasil penelitian pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing melalui langkah-langkah pemberian rangsangan, identifikasi masalah, pengumpulan data, pengolahan data, pembuktian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Penelitian dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konseptual dan kelancaran prosedural ditunjukkan dengan siswa mendapatkan skor lebih dari atau sama dengan  yaitu sebesar 76% dan peningkatan persentase rata-rata skor tes akhir siklus berdasarkan indikator pemahaman konseptual dan kelancaran prosedural.
