Abstract

ABSTRACTThe diversity of butterflies? family of Nymphalidae and Pieridae at Cirengganis area and Cikamal Savannah area of Pananjung Sanctuary of PangandaranThe research reported the diversity o.f butterflies of Nymphalidae and Pieridae Families at Cirengganis area and Cikamal Savannah area which located at Pananjung Sanctuary, Pangandaran. The experiment was conducted using visual encounter survey method. The butterflies were caught using sweeping technique. The butterflies were collected and identified. Abiotic factors such light intensity and temperature were measured during observation. The result showed that 13 species of nymphalidae family were identified whilst only 2 species were identified belongs to the family of Pieridae. Butterfly diversity index at Cirengganis and Cikamal Savannah categorized as moderate with value of 2.285647. Vegetation that interacted with the butterflies were Tectona grandis), Psychotria aurantiaca, and Melastoma malabathricum. Furthermore, light intensity and temperature at Cirengganis were detected at 12473.33 lux and 28.6oC, respectively. While at Cikamal Savannah, the light intensity was measured at 26900 lux and temperature reached 33.6oC.Keywords: Visual encounter survey, Abiotic factor, VegetationABSTRAKPenelitian ini melaporkan mengenai keanekaragaman Jenis Kupu-Kupu Famili Nymphalidae dan Pieridae di kawasan Cirengganis dan Padang Rumput Cikamal Cagar Alam Pananjung Pangandaran. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode Visual Encounter Survey (VES). Penangkapan kupu-kupu dilakukan dengan teknik sweeping. Kupu-kupu yang diperoleh dikoleksi dan diidentifikasi. Faktor abiotik seperti intensitas cahaya dan suhu diukur selama pengamatan. Serta diamati pula vegetasi sekitar lokasi pengamatan yang berinteraksi dengan kupu-kupu. Hasil pengamatan diperoleh total kupu-kupu famili Nymphalidae sebanyak 13 spesies dan kupu-kupu famili Pieridae sebanyak 2 spesies. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman kupu-kupu di kawasan Cirengganis dan Padang Rumput Cikamal tergolong kategori sedang yaitu 2,285647. Hasil vegetasi yang diketahui berinteraksi dengan kupu-kupu yaitu jati (Tectona grandis), ki kores (Psychotria aurantiaca), dan harendong (Melastoma malabathricum). Sementara rata-rata intensitas cahaya dan suhu di Cirengganis sebesar 12473,33 lux dan 28,6oC dan di Padang Rumput Cikamal sebesar 26900 lux dan 33,6oC.Kata Kunci: Visual Encounter Survey, Faktor abiotik, Vegetasi

Abstract

Penelitian mengenai uji aktivitas antifidan ekstrak etanol tanaman lada (Piper nigrum L.), jeringau (Acorus calamus L.), dan kayu bawang (Dysoxylum alliaceum (Blume) Blume) terhadap larva Spodoptera litura instar III telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan konsentrasi ekstrak tanaman minimum yang menghambat aktivitas makan larva S.litura instar III. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode ekperimental dengan menggunakan bioassay uji tanpa pilihan (No choice antifeedant test). Parameter yang diamati adalah jumlah luas area daun yang dimakan larva S.litura instar III. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan uji Mann Whitney U. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ekstrak tanaman lada (P.nigrum), jeringau (A.calamus), dan kayu bawang (D.alliaceum)  memiliki aktivitas antifidan terhadap larva S. Litura instar III. Ekstrak tanaman lada (P.nigrum), jeringau (A.calamus), dan kayu bawang (D.alliaceum) menunjukkan aktivitas antifidan dengan konsentrasi minimum sebesar 625 ppm.

Abstract

Pengendalian penyebaran nyamuk Aedes aegypti yang merupakan vektor Demam Berdarah Dengue (DBD) saat ini umum dilakukan dengan menggunakan bahan aktif sintetis. Dampak negatifnya menyisakan residu, bersifat racun bagi manusia, serta mempertinggi tingkat esistensi nyamuk. Riset yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk menguji crude ekstrak metanol daundan batang tanaman Begonia muricata serta jamur entomopatogen Metarhizium anisopliae, sebagai ioinsektisida alternatif yang bersifat ramah lingkungan dan aman bagi manusia. Riset menggunakan metode eksperimental bioassay dengan uji toksisitas untuk mencari mortalitas dan menentukan nilai LC50 ekstrak dan jamur entomopatogen terhadap larva Ae. aegypti instar III, serta uji hayati perkembangan untuk ekstrak daun dan batang B. muricata. Hasil ujimenunjukkan tosisitas ekstrak daun B. muricata diketahui lebih baik dibandingkan ekstrak batang, dengan LC50 24 dan 48 jam sebesar 865,31 ppm dan 733,47 ppm. Ekstrak daun dan batang B. muricata juga berpengaruh nyata dalam menghambat perkembangan larva menuju pupa dan imago (P<0,05), ekstrak daun dengan konsentrasi yang lebih rendah dapat menghambat perkembangan larva lebih besar dibandingkan ekstrak batang. Jamur entomopatogen M. anisopliae yang diinfeksikan terhadap larva Ae. aegypti bersifat larvasidaldengan LC50 48 jam sebesar 9,28 × 100 spora/ml. Dengan demikian, ekstrak daun B.muricata dan jamur M. anisopliae dapat rekomendasikan untuk pengendalian larva Ae. aegypti dalamprogram pencegahan DBD.

Abstract

Aedes aegypti is known as the main vector of dengue fever in Indonesia which causes a high number of deaths and become an outbreak every year. This disease is generally controlled by breaking the life cycle of mosquitoes with restricted breeds and using synthetic insecticides. So far biological agents from natural enemies and natural pathogens have been developed to anticipate the negative effects of synthetic insecticides. Bacillus thuringiensis is well known as entomopathogenic bacteria that can control various insect pests of cultivated plants and vector insects, such as Ae.aegypti.  B. thuringiensis can form endospores that produced toxin to Ae.aegypti, while the advatages are safe against non-target organisms such as natural predators and parasites, safe for mammals and humans and do not pollute the environment. Effective duration of B. thuringiensis in infecting Ae. aegypti is an important thing to be studied, moreover it is important to know the effectiveness of the expired formulation on the market and the residual effect. This ensures that the use of B. thuringiensis remains safe and does not create new problems such as Ae. aegypti  resistance. The experimental research was used bioassay method, toxicity test was performed B. thuringiensis expired and non expire as comparison at concentration 0 ppm (control), 0,3 ppm; 0.1 ppm; 0.07 ppm; 0.05 ppm; 0.03 ppm; 0.01 ppm. The parameters observed were mortality for 48 hours of toxicity test that results were indicated by LC 50, LC90 and recidual values. The results obtained were LC50 and LC formulations B.thuringiensis expired 0.305 ppm and 1.513 ppm much higher than the non expire LC50 and LC formulations of 0.0363 ppm and 0.8971 ppm. The recidual effect of expired B. thuringiensis on larvae Ae. Aegypti was only effective until day 12, whereas B. thuringiensis  that  non expire formulation was effectively until day 14.Keywords : Ae. aegypti, B. thuringiensis, mortality, recidual values, expired formulation
