Abstract

Daun sirih hijau (Piper betle L.) merupakan salah satu tanaman yang digunakan oleh masyarakat Indonesia sebagai obat tradisional. Ekstrak etil asetat daun sirih hijau mengandung senyawa antibakteri yang terdiri dari senyawa fenol dan turunannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak etil asetat daun sirih hijau terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus epidermidis. Sirih hijau diekstraksi menggunakan pelarut etil asetat dan diuji aktivitas penghambatannya terhadap  bakteri Staphylococcus epidermidis dengan metode difusi agar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan daya hambat ekstrak pada konsentrasi 3% dan 5%, yaitu 9,8 dan 15 mm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etil asetat memiliki aktivitas antibakteri dalam kategori sedang-kuat.Kata kunci  : Daun sirih hijau, Piper betle L difusi agar, Staphylococcus epidermidis, etil asetat

Abstract

Inflammation is a protective response on the body from injury of cell. Edema is one of inflammation sign. It was reported that Pandanus conoideus Lam. and Orthosiphon aristatus Mig. empirically used as an antiinflammation. The aim of this research was determining the combination effect of Pandanus conoideus Lam. and Orthosiphon aristatus Mig. based on formation edema volume on sole of foot male mice againts carrageenan, inflammation that occurs is measured using the pletysmometer. In the research, we used sodium CMC as a negative control and sodium diclofenac as a positive control administered topically. While combination of Pandanus conoideus Lam. and Orthosiphon aristatus Mig. with a ratio of 2:1. The result showed decrease edema with percent of inhibition 76,92% Respectively, as a conclussion the result indicate Natrium diklofenak didnt showed significant effect compare with the testing data.

Abstract

Endophytic fungi are fungi colonize internally plant tissue, without giving detrimental effect to the host plant. They act as symbiont, mediated plant resistance against biotic stress i.e. pests and diasease and abiotic stress such as drought and extreme of temperature. Endophytic fungi are one of the most creative groups of secondary metabolite producers that play important biological roles for human life. Fungi are among the most important groups of eukaryotic organisms that are well known for producing many novel metabolites which are directly used as drugs or function as lead structure for modification.Mulberry (Morus alba L.) is one of the genus species known to have secondary metabolite compound that can be used as an antioxidant, antibacterial, antiviral, antidiabetic, antihypertensive, hypolipidemic, fever, flu, cough, antiemetic and gastrointestinal disorders. This research aimed to determine antibacterial activity of Mulberry Fungi from the leaves against the bacteria Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. Isolation of endophytic fungal carried by the direct isolation techniques. Isolates which produced as much as 3 isolates the MUR1, MUR2 and MUR3. Further isolates fermented using PDY medium and extracted using ethyl acetate. The ethyl acetate extract qualitative test the activity against bacteria Escherechia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. The result of the antibacteria activity, ethyl acetat extract from fermentation medium PDY of Mulbery (Morus alba L.) inhibited growth of Escherechia coli and Staphylococcus aureus at > 12 mm Keywords: Endophytic fungi, Mulberry (Morus alba L.), Antibiotic.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Lyophilisate of cocoon silkworm (Bombyx mori L.) possess antibacterial activity against Propionibacterium acne, Staphylococcus epidermidis, and S. aureus which belong to the group of bacteria that cause acne. Therefore, this research was carried out to make a formula for anti-acne gel based on Carbopol 940®. The gel dosage form was chosen because it is easier to clean from the surface of the skin after use and contains no oil which can increase the severity of acne. The formulation was tested on the physical stability of the preparations in the form of organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, dispersibility, adhesion and viscosity tests. The results of the study showed that the anti-acne gel formulat had a good preparation quality and anti-acne activity. Keywords : Cocoon, gel, anti-acne, Propionibacterium acne, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus aureus   ABSTRAK Liofilisat kokon ulat sutera (Bombyx mori L.) memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Propionibacterium acne, Staphylococcus epidermidis, dan S. aureus yang merupakan bakteri penyebab jerawat. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk membuat formula sediaan gel antijerawat dengan basis gel Carbopol 940®. Bentuk sediaan gel dipilih karena lebih mudah dibersihkan dari permukaan kulit setelah pemakaian dan tidak mengandung minyak yang dapat meningkatkan keparahan jerawat. Hasil formulasi dilakukan uji stabilitas fisik sediaan berupa uji organoleptik, homogenitas, pH, daya sebar, daya lekat dan viskositas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa formulagel antijerawat liofilisat kokon memiliki kualitas sediaan yang baik. Kata kunci: Kokon, gel, antijerawat, Propionibacterium acne, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus aureus

Abstract

Kelor (Moringa oleifera Lam.) mengandung metabolit sekunder dan berkhasiat sebagai antibakteri. Metabolit sekunder tanaman kelor dapat diperoleh dari fungi endofit yang berasosiasi dalam jaringan tanaman. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah menentukan potensi antibakteri isolat fungi endofit daun kelor. Isolasi fungi endofit daun kelor diperoleh sebanyak 3 isolat yaitu isolat M2NG, M2NB, dan M2NW. Penelitian ini meliputi uji antagonis, fermentasi, ekstraksi dan uji aktivitas menggunakan metode difusi agar. Hasil uji antagonis menunjukkan isolat M2NG paling aktif menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri E. coli, S. aureus, P. aureginosa, dan S. typhi. Ekstrak etil asetat fermentat isolat hijau konsentrasi 4% memiliki aktivitas menghambat bakteri uji dengan diameter zona hambat tertinggi  yaitu 17,94 mm untuk bakteri E. coli dan 16,85 mm untuk bakteri S. aureus. Identifikasi metabolit  sekunder ekstrak etil asetat  mengandung  flavonoid, alkaloid dan polifenol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa isolat fungi endofit daun kelor memiliki aktivitas antibakteri spektrum luas.Kata kunci: Moringa oleifera, isolat, fungi endofit, antibakteri

Abstract

Lactic acid bacteria (BAL) is a gram-positive bacterium in the form of stems or round, not forming spores, anaerobic facultative fermentation and has the ability to ferment glucose into lactic acid. The purpose of this study was to isolate and identify lactic acid bacteria from spinach and mustard vegetable waste which can be used as food preservative. The isolation result was obtained by 10 isolates suspected as lactic acid bacteria. The isolates obtained were identified macroscopically, fermentation test, gram staining, spore staining and catalase test. From the macroscopic identification of samples of spinach and mustard, the isolates were white milk, rounded circular edges, kensitri surface and convex elevation. The fermentation test indicates that are heterofermentative and. All isolates obtained in the form of gram-positive bacteria had no negative spores and catalases and its alleged are Lactobasillus.
