Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis dan menentukan perbedaan karakter morfometrik dan meristik ikanbaronang Siganus sp yang berada di Teluk Bone dan Selat Makassar, untuk menentukan apakah spesies Siganussp yang ada di Kabupaten Luwu memiliki perbedaan dengan daerah lain. Sampel ikan 60 ekor diidentifikasi dandianalisis dengan mengacu pada metode identifikasi Saanin (1995), Allen (2000) serta Carpenter (2001).Analisis data yang digunakan adalah Analisis Faktorial Diskriminan dengan bantuan Software microsoft exceldan SPSS Statistics 16.0, untuk menguji apakah terdapat perbedaan karakter yang nyata antar kelompokpopulasi yang ditentukan oleh sejumlah variabel kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapatduakarakter penciri untuk Kabupaten Luwu yaitu Panjang Total, dan Lebar Mata, sedangkan untuk perairan KotaParepare memiliki tiga karakter penciri yaitu Tinggi Badan, Panjang Jari-jari Sirip Perut Terakhir, dan PanjangHidung. Hasilpenelitianmenunjukkandarikedualokasimerupakanspesies yang sama. Ujitest of equality dari 29karakter yang diuji menghasilkan 24 karakater yang tidak bersifat pembeda atau sekitar (83%) karakater(cenderung sama), dan sekitar (17%) karakteristik morfometrik yang cenderung berbeda.Kata Kunci : Morfometrik, Meristik, Siganus canaliculatus

Abstract

The research was purposed to analyse genetic similarity of tiger grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus) inorder to select grouper that was resistant to Vibrio alginolyticus. In this study, fish were challenged with Vibrioalginolyticus and genetic similarity was examined by a PCR-RAPD method. Eight RAPD primers were used forPCR-RAPD analysis. The results showed that only three primers of RAPD primer (YNZ-22, UBC-456, danUBC-457) generated high number of RAPD fragments. The resistant group of tiger groupers generated higherpolymorph RAPD fragments than the susceptible groups. RAPD primer YNZ-22 and UBC-457 generated 82 %and 71 % of RAPD polymorph fragments from resistant group of fish and 71% and 60 % from susceptiblegroups, respectively. Primer YNZ-22 is a best genetic marker to analyse genetic similarity of tiger groupersproduced specific marker ranging from 1,2-2,0 kb. Genetic distances between the population of resistant fishand population of susceptible fish was 0.5091 and between individual of the resistant fish and susceptible fishwas 0.7032. Abstract

One sub-district that has the potential for marine and fisheries as well as superior tourism in Pangkajene and Islands regencies is Liukang Tupabbiring Utara sub-district.  Superior fisheries potential in Mattiro Baji Village and Mattiro Bombang Village in Liukang Tupabbiring Utarasub-district is an opportunity to invest.  Small islands in these two villages generally face various obstacles and problems as a consequence of isolation and the difficulty of access to service centers, education, and the economy.  Therefore, UNHAS in collaboration with the Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar and the Regional Government of Pangkep Regency agreed to try to overcome and reduce this problem through the Regional Partnership Program (PKW) in Liukang Tupabbiring Utara sub-district, Pangkep Districts.  The Regional Partnership Program (PKW) has produced several activities, namely: Training in making environmentally friendly fishing equipment and sustainable fisheries, post-harvest handling & processing of seaweed and fish products, PIRT management, product packaging and exhibitions, business development of souvenirs and coverage in online media, simple bookkeeping training and marketing for handicraft businesses on Saugi Island, health data mapping, training in waste processing, advocacy for the formation of cooperatives.  The implementation of this program can not only improve the economy and quality of public health, but also can encourage environmental quality improvement, so that natural resources can be managed sustainably by better human resources.

Abstract

Blue swimming crabs (Portunus pelagicus) from Makassar Strait have some variations in color and pattern of spots on the carapace. The purpose of this study was to analyze the habitat preferences blue swimmer crab species complex from Macassart Straits.  Crabs were grouping based on the difference of color and pattern of spots on the crab carapace to identify the variety of crabs.  Habitat was observed salinity, depth, and substrate type. The results of PCA analysis showed a tendency of each population occupies a different base substrates (P<0.01). Substrate type also correlated with depth and salinity. The conclusion of this study is the difference in the color and pattern on the carapace thought to be different species or varieties and they occupy different habitats.  Preferences of the different habitats for different population groups are very important information for the development of blue swimming crab aquaculture in the future. Keywords: Crab, Portunus pelagicus, morphometric, habitat, aquaculture

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji keragaman genetik populasi ikan beronang di perairan Selat Makassar dan Teluk Bone dengan metode random amplified polimorphic DNA (RAPD). Sampel ikan beronang diperoleh dari tiga lokasi di perairan Selat Makassar (Polman, Barru, dan Takalar) dan satu lokasi di perairan Teluk Bone (Malili). Sebanyak 8 ekor ikan beronang dari tiap-tiap lokasi dipreservasi dengan larutan TNES urea buffer. Ekstraksi DNA genom dengan metode Phenol-Chloroform. Di antara tujuh screening primer, lima primer diseleksi untuk analisis RAPD. Keragaman genetik dianalisis menggunakan software TFPGA (Tools For Population Genetic Analysis). Kedekatan hubungan kekerabatan ditampilkan dalam dendrogram. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ikan beronang populasi Malili, Teluk Bone menghasilkan polimorfik tertinggi yaitu 63,24% dan terendah dari populasi Barru, Selat Makassar yakni 40,30%. Indeks similaritas tertinggi (0,83) diperoleh antara populasi Polman dan Barru, dan indeks similaritas terendah (0,65) antara populasi Barru dengan populasi Malili. Hubungan kekerabatan berdasarkan jarak genetik ikan beronang pada penelitian ini diperoleh dua kelompok utama yaitu populasi Selat Makassar dan Teluk Bone. Ketiga populasi ikan beronang asal perairan Selat Makassar merupakan satu kelompok dan terpisah dari ikan beronang populasi Malili, Teluk Bone.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the existing condition of waste sorting place in Makkassar City and the existing regulations in supporting the handling of waste in Makassar City in order to produce formulation of waste sorting system from household to TPS. Methods of data collection used in this study are: (1) study of literature and regulation, and waste management system in several cities and major countries to be adopted in Makassar; (2) field survey to find out the complaints in the community around the place of sorting of garbage; (3) Focus Group Discussion (FGD) from various stakeholders including the community around the place of waste segregation and related SKPD. Likert scale (as one of attitude scale) for the development of statistical analysis technique where ordinal data is converted to interval data, the result will be analyzed using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to formulate policy about septic and environmentally friendly waste separation place in Makassar City. The result of the research shows that: (1) Waste Bank and TPS3R in Makassar city can improve the economy of society and reduce unemployment, (2) Waste Bank in Makassar city acceptable to society and not cause negative impact, (3) TPS3TR in Makassar City according to people's perception around the location can make dirty air due to dust and environmental smoke, (4) TPS3TR in Makassar City according to the perception of the people around the location can disrupt the general traffic around the TPS3R location, (5) Garbage Bank and TPS3R in Makassar City can improve people's economy and reduce unemployment.

Abstract

Sabbeta Village ', Pising Village, Soppeng Regency is a pilot village for silk development in Soppeng Regency. Service activities undertaken are Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and training. Partners of this community service activity are the Sabbeta Village Farmers Group and the Mega Sutera Farmers Group. The purpose of the FGD is to examine the debates and challenges raised by silk farmers in developing women's relations in Pising Village. From the results of the FGD chose a number of problems to make training materials as a solution for farmers. In general, topics related to farmers are silk related to marketing, low productivity and eco print on silk fabrics. Monopoly-producing marketing makes the price of yarn produced very low. Until now, silk farmers in Soppeng Regency only produce silk yarn, while silk fabric production is in Wajo District. Low productivity because it is related to the importance and the product, especially the yarn produced, is not standard. In addition, women-only societies develop eco-print techniques on silk fabrics. The FGD was closed with a visit to the houses of the people which were used as caterpillars, seed gardens, spinning and souvenir galleries. Based on a review of the FGD results, the activities carried out were training on entrepreneurship, silkworm maintenance and eco print. The business of silkworm maintenance can be optimal if carried out in accordance with the procedure so as to produce threads that meet the standards. The maintenance of silkworms by farmers is very conventional, not in accordance with standard procedures. The results of the eco print technique were not satisfactory because the coloring was not optimal. The training provided is expected to increase their knowledge, so that it becomes a solution to the problem so far.Keywords: Sabbeta Village, Pising Village, silkworm maintenance, eco print. ABSTRAKKampung Sabbeta?, Desa Pising, Kabupaten Soppeng merupakan kampung percontohan untuk pengembangan sutera di Kabupaten Soppeng. Kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan adalah Focus Group Discussion (FGD) dan pelatihan. Mitra dari kegiatan pengabdian ini, yaitu Kelompok Tani Kampung Sabbeta? dan Kelompok Tani Mega Sutera. Tujuan dari FGD untuk mengkaji permasalahan dan kendala yang dihadapi para petani sutera dalam mengembang-kan persuteraan di Desa Pising. Dari hasil FGD dipilih beberapa masalah untuk dijadikan bahan pelatihan sebagai solusi dari permasalahan para petani. Secara umum, permasalahan yang dihadapi petani sutera terkait pemasaran, produktifitas yang rendah dan eco print di kain sutera. Pemasaran yang bersifat monopoli membuat harga benang yang dihasilkan sangat rendah. Sampai saat ini, petani-petani sutera di Kabupaten Soppeng hanya menghasilkan benang sutera, sedangkan produksi kain sutera ada di Kabupaten Wajo. Produktifitas yang rendah disebabkan karena ketergantungan akan bibit impor dan produk, khususnya benang yang dihasilkan, tidak standar. Selain itu, masyarakat khususnya para wanita mengem-bangkan teknik eco print di kain sutera. Kegiatan FGD ditutup dengan kunjungan ke rumah-rumah penduduk yang dijadikan tempat pemeliharaan ulat, kebun benih, pemintalan, dan galeri souvenir. Berdasarkan kajian dari hasil FGD, kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah pelatihan yaitu kewirausahaan, pemeliharaan ulat sutera dan eco print. Usaha pemeliharaan ulat sutera dapat optimal jika dilakukan sesuai dengan prosedur sehingga menghasilkan benang yang memenuhi standar. Pemeliharaan ulat sutera yang dilakukan petani sangat konvensional, tidak sesuai dengan prosedur standar. Hasil teknik eco print yang dikerjakan kurang memuaskan karena pewarnaan belum maksimal. Pelatihan yang diberikan diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan mereka, sehingga menjadi solusi dari permasalahan selama ini. Kata kunci: Kampung Sabbeta?, Desa Pising, pemeliharaan ulat sutera, eco print.
