Abstract

The fulfillment of national education standards has become mandatory for all educational institutions in the national law of the Republic Indonesia, which of course includes madrasah. Many efforts have been made both by the government and madrasah, yet the fulfillment of national education standards (SNP) still has not been successful. Problems do not only appear internally; they also appear externally, from supervisors. There is no doubt that supervisors also must be responsible in guiding and fulfilling the requirements of the national education standards (SNP). The reality found by the research shows that supervisors are not yet successful in guiding and mentoring systematically in order to support the national education standards (SNP) in the Madrasah. The awareness of SNP by supervisors still appears to be low; this is evident in the ineffectively-designed supervising and guidance program that is below the expectations of the SNP. The documents, related to guidance and mentoring, ]designed by the supervisor are considered mediocre based on the administrative procedures. Hence, many Madrasah(s) are still struggling in fulfilling the SNP that has become a national agreement. Pemenuhan Standar Nasional Pendidikan adalah suatu keharusan bagi semua lembaga pendidikan di wilayah hukum Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia, tidak terkecuali madrasah. Berbagai upaya telah dilakukan oleh pemerintah maupun masyarakat madrasah, namun pencapaian Standar Nasional Pendidikan (SNP) masih tetap saja menghadapi berbagai kendala. Selain kendala internal madrasah dengan berbagai keterbatasannya, juga dihadapkan pada kendala eksternal dari pihak pembina madrasah seperti pengawas. Sesuai dengan fungsinya seyogianya pengawas juga dapat berperan penting dalam membimbing dan membina madrasah dalampemenuhan  SNP  tersebut.  Dalam  realitas  di  lapangan  ternyata  menunjukan  bahwa  pengawas  belum  dapat melakukan pembinaan dan pemantauan yang terencana dalam upaya membantu madrasah dalam pemenuhan SNP. Pemahaman pengawas tentang SNP masih sangat terbatas, antara lain ditandai dengan cara mereka menyusun desain program dalam pelaksanaan pembinaan yang belum sesuai dengan yang diharapkan. Seperangkat kelengkapan dokumen yang dibuat oleh pengawas terkait dengan pembinaan dan pemantauan pemenuhan SNP baru sebatas pemenuhan persyaratan adiministratif kepengawasan.Tidaklah mengejutkan jika kemudian masih banyak madrasah yang kesulitan memenuhi SNP yang telah menjadi kesepakatan nasional tersebut.

Abstract

This paper draws on a study on Integrated Religious Education for School Education System conducted in 2013 focusing on Junior Secondary Education of Yayasan Pendidikan Shafi yyatul Amaliyyah (SMP YPSA) in Medan, using a qualitative approach comprising in-depth interviews with key informants, such as the foundation chairman, Principal, Islamic subject teachers, and the parents. This study focused on the development of Islamic Subjects (PAI) management integrated with the rest of junior high school education activities in SMP YPSA Medan. This study found that integrated PAI in the SMP YPSA Medan was implemented by integrating religious and character values into non-religious subject matters. Islamic subjects and character building here were considered the soul of all subject matters. Such integration model was applied in cobwebs construction as well as a logical consequence of YPSA vision and mission that determined that Islamic subjects and character building would be the characteristics of SMP YPSA Medan.

Abstract

This article presented the results of the research about Islamic education learning and the students’ aspiration tendencies. The case of the study was the students of the Science of Education Faculty (FIP) of Indonesia University of Education (UPI) by academic year 2015/2016. The research process had been runing for three months (October to December 2015). The results of research showed that the Islamic Education (PAI) learning at UPI conformed with the government policies and the principles of educational theories which aims to prepare the educator candidates whom according to the motto of UPI; scientific, educative, and religious.Through the multi domains of integrative learning approach that it was applied at UPI by some models and learning approaches awakened the students’ enthusiasms and developed their religious concepts and experiences more dinamically and openly. The PAI tutorials was not only in the classrooms but also in the mousque and at the Units of Students’ Activities which was supported by tutorial systems where all student has to follow it. Students’ aspirations to comprehend the religious sciences, to practiceit, and to obey it are believed to be achieved through the PAI learning system runing in UPI. Their worries just come from theirselves. According to them, the PAI learning had run well and comformed with their expectations. Keywords: Learning, Islamic education, university, UPI Bandung Tulisan ini menyajikan hasil penelitian tentang pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam dan kecenderungan aspirasi mahasiswa. Penelitian ini mengambil kasus mahasiswa FIP UPI angkatan 2015/2016. Proses penelitian berlangsung selama tiga bulan (Oktober-Desember 2015). Hasil peneltian menunjukkan, bahwa pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) di UPI berjalan searah dengan berbagai kebijakan pemerintah dan prinsip-prinsip teori kependidikan yang bertujuan untuk mempersiapkan calon tenaga pendidik yang sesuai dengan motto UPI ilmiah, edukatif, dan religius. Melalui pendekatan pembelajaran integratif multi ranah yang diterapkan di UPI dengan berbagai ragam model dan pendekatan pembelajaran telah membangkitkan antusiasme mahasiswa dalam mengembangkan wawasan dan pengalaman keagamaan yang sangat dinamis dan terbuka. Perkuliahan PAI tidak hanya di ruang-ruang kuliah saja, tetapi juga di masjid dan UKM-UKM, dengan dukungan sistem tutorial yang wajib diikuti oleh seluruh mahasiswa. Aspirasi mahasiswa mendapatkan ilmu agama serta mampu mengaplikasikan dan menaatinya diyakini dapat tercapai melalui sistem pembelajaran PAI yang berjalan di UPI. Kekhawatiran mereka justru pada faktor internal diri mereka sendiri. Mereka menilai pembelajaran PAI telah berjalan sesuai dengan harapan dan keinginan mereka. Abstract

This paper presents the results of research on the model of organization of character education in school, with the case of Public Senior High School (SMAN) 3 Medan. This study used a qualitative approach by conducting in- depth interviews to key informants, such as principal, teachers of religious education, the student’s parents and the Students Executive Board (OSIS) as wekk as equipped with observation or analysis of documents. This study findings that character education applied in SMAN 3 is an integrative model, involving all components of the school and teachers of religious education becomes the main actor (model) with conducive policy support from the principal. Presence and involment of campus activists through mentoring requires attention and coordination with integrated program of teachers of religious education. Keywords: Character education, religious education, Senior High School, Medan Tulisan ini menyajikan hasil penelitian tentang model penyelenggaraan pendidikan karakter di sekolah, dengan kasus di SMAN 3 Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan melakukan wawancara mendalam kepada informan kunci, seperti kepala sekolah, guru pendidikan agama, pengurus OSIS, dan orangtua siswa serta dilengkapi dengan pengamatan maupun analisis dokumen. Temuannya antara lain, bahwa pendidikan karakter yang diterapkan di lingkungan SMAN 3 Medan adalah model integratif yang melibatkan seluruh komponen sekolah dan guru pendidikan agama menjadi aktor utamanya (model) dengan dukungan kebijakan yang kondusif dari kepala sekolah. Abstract

AbstractIn the learning process in madrasah, a supervisor has an important role in achieving the learning objective. He is a partner, consultant, and an evaluator as well. Consequently, the madrasah supervisor has to have wider knowledge and experience for carrying his task and responsibilities.This research tries to describe how the madrasah’s supervisor carries his task and responsibility in teaching-learning process.The research finds out that the role of madrasah supervisor-whether as partner, consultant, or evaluator-has not fully been functional. Yhis condition is dominantly caused by the knowledge, experience, and training background of the supervisor which is mostly irrelevant to his job. Another factor is related to the age of supervisor which is approximately near to 60 years, that become a constraint to actively encourage his quality improvement.

Abstract

This research is aimed at acknowledging the breakthroughs and innovations performed by the Asih Putra Islamic Elementary School turning it into a quality and competitive Islamic school. Amidst the Islamic Elementary School education units that are still dealing with various resource limitations, particularly related to the fulfillment of the financing standards as well as facility and infrastructure standards, the Asih Putra Islamic Elementary School has been moving far forwards with various innovative breakthroughs. This research is a qualitative research. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The research results in finding that breakthroughs have been made by performing reform in management, improvement in teachers’ quality and competency as well as administration service, innovation in curriculum, diversification of financing sources, and making innovations to attract stakeholders’ support. The Asih Putera Islamic Elementary School has successfully escaped from the problems faced by Islamic schools in general. The Asih Putra Islamic Elementary School has successfully changed its image from a marginalized Islamic school into a superior Islamic school that is attractive to public and able to survive with numerous achievements.

Abstract

AbstractThis paper presents the result of the study at State High School 2 Semarang which reveals the strengthening of PAI (Islamic Religious Education) learning by playing a role of Rohis (Mosque Family Council) as the spearhead in respondingto aspirations and student participation. The study took place from February to July 2016 using a qualitative approach. Data was collected through a checklist, interview, observation and documentation. The result of descriptive data analysis shows that the role of rohis in strengthening the PAI learning has been able to foster creativity of students through an aspirative and interesting program thus it is more intriguing the students’ interest to follow the religious deepening material as the reinforcement of regular material received in a classroom. In the process, GPAI remains the main institution in charge and the main driver of PAI learning supported by principals and teachers and parents.AbstrakTulisan ini menyajikan hasil penelitian di SMAN 2 Semarang yang mengungkap penguatan pembelajaran PAI dengan memeranankan Rohis sebagai ujung ombak dalam merespon aspirasi dan partisipasi siswa. Penelitian ini berlangsungpada bulan Februari hingga Juli tahun 2016 dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui daftar isian, wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil analisis data secara deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa pemeranan rohis dalam penguatan pembelajaran PAI telah dapat menumbuhkan kreatiftas siswa melalui program yang aspiratif dan menarik sehingga lebihmenggugah minat siswa untuk mengikuti materi pendalaman agama sebagai penguatan dari materi reguler yang diterima di ruang kelas. Dalam proses itu GPAI tetap menjadi penangungjawab dan penggerak utama pembelajaran PAI yang didukung oleh kepala sekolah dan para guru serta orang tua siswa.

Abstract

Praktik pengajaran PAI di USU memunculkan keanekaragaman komentar baik dari pimpinanPerguruan Tinggi Umum (PTU) maupun mahasiswa. Model konvensional pengajaran agama, yaitumodel ceramah dan tanya jawab, dimana peran dosen lebih dominan dibandingkan dengan peranmahasiswa membuat mahasiswa mencari alternatif pendidikan agama di luar kegiatan intra kampus.Model pengajaran dan materi kajian agama kompetitor di luar intra kampus tersebut lebih “seksi” danmengundang perhatian mahasiswa dibandingkan dengan materi yang disampaikan dosen PAI di ruangkuliah. Memperkokoh penyelenggaraan MPK sebagai pengembangan dari mata kuliah agama di PTUdan penguatan kompetensi akademik serta kedudukan dosen PAI yang simpatik dan kompetitif adalahsebuah keniscayaan.
