Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the principal's leadership style on teacher performance. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The location of the study was conducted in MTs Asy-syafi?iyah Pinggir, Bengkalis Regency, Riau. The subjects of this research are leadership directing and teacher performance. The objects of research are the teacher and the principal. In this case the researcher took a sample of 1 principal and 17 teachers. The researcher uses a total sampling technique or takes all subjects as a sample. To capture the data in this study, the researcher use several techniques, namely observation, interviews, questionnaires, and literature review. The results showed that the implementation of leadership style influenced the quality of education in MTs Asy-Syafi'iyah Pinggir. The leadership style is often used by principals in MTs Asy-Syafi?iyah Pinggir is democratic leadership. Democratic leadership style is the style of leader who gives broad authority to subordinates. Whenever there is a problem always include subordinates as a whole team. In a democratic leadership style the leader provides a lot of information about the tasks and responsibilities of his subordinates. Teacher performance in MTs Asy-Syafi'iyah Pinggir that the performance of a teacher can be improved if there is a match between work and his expertise, as well as the placement of teachers in their assignments.

Abstract

Religion and education have strong relationship. Religion guides human to do good things and leaves bad things. Based on this reason, many schools (private and public school) apply Islamic curriculum and full day system. In full day school, learning process is not merely formal, but also a lot of atmosphere is informal. It is not stuffy. It is fun for students and requires creativity and innovation from teachers. With this system, the length of learning time will not be burden.  It is hoped to create high quality of education

Abstract

A professional teacher should master the four competencies , namely 1. Pedagogic competence is the ability of teachers to manage the learning of students . 2. Professional Competence . Namely the ability of teachers to keep abreast of  the latest science for the development of science is always dynamic . 3. Social competence it will be  be seen whether a teacher can work together with the community and the students and other teachers . 4. Competence Personality . These competencies associated with the personality of the teacher . teachers  should possess noble trait that can be a model for his students.

Abstract

In the concept of education according toMuhammad Iqbal ( Pakistani Philosopher who many engaged in the field of education ). Starting that human education should reflect the human nature itself. According to Muhammad Iqbal education must make people aware that there are two main self-worth in itself, namely sinsitivitas (sensitivity) and strength of self. The nature of senaitifitas means every child has to know the truth that is in him being born from birth. Then the nature of self power means that every child has a self reinforcing character to hold and translate the truth that is already in.

Abstract

“Metode Ceramah” can be defined as a way of presenting the lesson through oral or explanation directly to a group of students.“Metode ceramah” is a method that use until today by any teacher or instructor. “Metode Ceramah” on the subjects of Islamic Religion Education (PAI) has not been so appropriate. It just looks teacher center, while students are not active in their learning and tend to be lazy. This paper aims to apply the concept of Melvin on “metode ceramah” that can create original learning that is passive to active and improve student achievement. Melvin concept to effective teaching with “Metode Ceramah” is to arouse interesting, to maximize comprehension and recall, involving students during lectures, and reinforce what has been delivered.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah komite sekolah yang sudah dibentuk oleh masyarakat dan sekolah sudah maksimal keterlibatannya secara penuh dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan, misalnya dalam memberikan pertimbangan dalam penentuan dan pelaksanaan kebijakan pendidikan. Adapun rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana peran komite sekolah di SMPN 12 Mandau dan bagaimana implementasi fungsi dan tujuan komite sekolah di SMPN 12 Mandau. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif yang berupa penelitian dengan metode atau pendekatan studi kasus, dengan teknik wawancara. Dalam hal ini penulis mengambil sample sebanyak 13 orang masyarakat. Hasil dari penelitian adalah Komite Sekolah bertujuan untuk mewadahi dan menyalurkan aspirasi dan prakarsa masyarakat dalam melahirkan kebijakan operasional dan program pendidikan di satuan pendidikan sudah terlaksana walaupun belum maksimal dan perlu dilakukan kerjasama yang lebih baik lagi.  Peran Komite Sekolah sebagai  pemberi pertimbangan, pendukung, pengontrol, mediator sudah terlaksana walaupun belum maksimal perlu mempelajari kembali AD/ART komite sekolah. Fungsi Komite Sekolah sudah terlaksana di SMPN 12 Mandau walaupun masih perlu mempelajari lagi PP no 17 tahun 2010 ini disebutkan bahwa komite sekolah selain mandiri juga harus profesional. Artinya Komite sekolah harus benar-benar dapat menjalankan peran dan fungsi, tidak hanya menjadi alat pelengkap di sekolah, atau bahkan hanya menjadi ”tukang stempel atas kebijakan kepala sekolah.This study aims to know whether school committees that have been established by the community and schools have maximal full involvement in improving the quality of education, for example in giving consideration in the determination and implementation of education policy. The problem formulation in this research is how the role of school committees in SMPN 12 Mandau and how the implementation of the function and purpose of school committees in SMPN 12 Mandau. This research is descriptive qualitative research in the form of research with method or approach of case study, with interview technique. In this case the authors take a sample of 13 people. The result of the research is the School Committee aims to accommodate and channel the aspirations and initiatives of the community in giving birth to operational policies and educational programs in educational units have been implemented although not yet maximal and needs to be done better cooperation. School Committee's role as a consideration, supporter, controller, mediator has been implemented although not yet maximally need to re-examine AD / ART school committee. School Committee function has been done in SMPN 12 Mandau although still need to study again PP no 17 of 2010 is mentioned that the school committee other than independent also must be professional. This means that the school committee must really be able to perform roles and functions, not only be a complementary tool at school, or even just a "stamp on the principal's policy
