Abstract

This paper proposes a new method for image segmentation is hybrid multilevel thresholding and improved harmony search algorithm. Improved harmony search algorithm which is a method for finding vector solutions by increasing its accuracy. The proposed method looks for a random candidate solution, then its quality is evaluated through the Otsu objective function. Furthermore, the operator continues to evolve the solution candidate circuit until the optimal solution is found. The dataset used in this study is the retina dataset, tongue, lenna, baboon, and cameraman. The experimental results show that this method produces the high performance as seen from peak signal-to-noise ratio analysis (PNSR). The PNSR result for retinal image averaged 40.342 dB while for the average tongue image 35.340 dB. For lenna, baboon and cameramen produce an average of 33.781 dB, 33.499 dB, and 34.869 dB. Furthermore, the process of object recognition and identification is expected to use this method to produce a high degree of accuracy.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi keterampilan metakognitif mahasiswa calon guru pada mata kuliah Ekologi Tumbuhan dan menganalisis hubungannya dengan pola pembelajaran dosen. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah gabungan antara pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif (metode campuran). Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah simple random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengukur keterampilan metakognitif adalah tes essay keterampilan metakognitif yang terintegrasi dengan hasil belajar kognitif dan lembar wawancara dosen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan skor rata-rata keterampilan metakognitif mahasiswa yang mengikuti matakuliah Ekologi Tumbuhan hanya 37,97. Kemudian, hasil penelitian juga mengungkap bahwa terdapat hubungan antara keterampilan metakognitif mahasiswa dan pola pembelajaran dosen. Pola pembelajaran yang diterapkan dosen pada matakuliah Ekologi Tumbuhan belum berbasis pada model pembelajaran tertentu dan belum memperhatikan perbedaan kemampuan akademik mahasiswa. Oleh karena itu, pola pembelajaran yang diterapkan tidak mendukung upaya permberdayaan keterampilan metakognitif. This study aimed to identify the metacognitive skill of stuedents of teacher candidate in plant ecology subject at University of Muhammadiyah Palembang and to analyze its relationship with lecture’s learning system. The research method used was mixed quantitative-qualitative approach (mixed methods). The technique sampling used was simple random sampling. The instrument used for measurement of metacognitive skill was the essay test integrated by cognitive learning outcomes and lecturer’s interview sheet. The result showed that the average score of students’ metacognitive skill who attended the plant ecology subject was 37,97. Then, the result also showed that there was a relationship between student metacognitive skill and lecture’s learning system. The learning system applied by the lecturer in plant ecology subject was not based on the certain learning model yet, and was not paid attention to the differences in students academic ability yet. Therefore, it did not support the empowerment of student metacognitive skills.

Abstract

Kebersihan gigi dan mulut merupakan salah satu perawatan menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut untuk menghindari perkembangbiakan mikroorganisme pada gigi dan mulut. Masalah kebersihan gigi dan mulut merupakan kegiatan sehari-hari yang harus dilakukan, tetapi masih dianggap kurang penting dan kurangnya perhatian tentang pelaksanaan menjaga kebersihan gigi dan mulut seperti cara menyikat gigi, pola makan yang sehat, flossing, dan rutin memeriksakan gigi ke dokter, jika tidak menjaga kebersihan gigi dan mulut maka akan terjadinya masalah pada gigi dan mulut seperti karies, bau mulut, plak pada gigi, peradangan pada mukosa mulut, dan bibir pecah-pecah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan pengetahuan orangtua tentang penatalaksanaan kebersihan gigi dan mulut anakusia sekolah. Jenis penelitian ini deskriptif correlative dengan desain cross sectional study. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh orang tua siswa/i anak yang bersekolah di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah sebanyak 470 orang tua, dengan teknik pengambilan sampel proportional sampling, didapatkan sampel sebanyak 83 responden. Pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara dengan kuesioner. Hasil analisis data dengan menggunakan chi-square didapatkan ada hubungan pengetahuan orangtua dengan penatalaksanaan kebersihan gigi dan mulut (p-value 0,026), ada hubungan pengetahuan orang tua dengan pelaksanaan cara menyikat gigi (p-value 0,007), dan tidak ada hubungan pengetahuan orang tua dengan pelaksanaan pola makan yang sehat pada anak usia sekolah(p-value 0,507). Diharapkan pihak sekolah untuk membuat kegiatan pemeriksaan kesehatan gigi dan mulut satu bulan sekali anak untuk mendapatkan gigi dan mulut yang sehat, dan dengan mengadakan UKGS di sekolah sehingga kesehatan gigi dan mulut sehat dan terjaga.

Abstract

Community in the 21st  was faced with a number of challenges, one of which was environmental problems and how to survive in the 21st century. For this reason, there were two important things to be developed, namely an environmentally caring attitude and an interest in entrepreneurship. The development of both should be facilitated by lectures on Environmental Knowledge. This research is intended to analyze the environmental care attitude and interest in student entrepreneurship. The research method used was descriptive qualitative and data were collected through questionnaires and interviews. The results of this study are 1) The attitude of caring for the student's environment needs to be improved; 2) The interest in student entrepreneurship is very high so it needs to be facilitated through learning that invites students to practice the skills that have been taught. The results of this study are expected to be a foothold in how to develop learning to support the development of environmental awareness and interest in student entrepreneurship.

Abstract

Abstract One of the crucial element should be mastered by prospective teacher-students is the content of the material. A low score cognitive learning outcomes can adversely affect future teaching careers. The academic ability factor is believed to be influential in this regard. Applying the right learning model can be the solution. This study aimed to determine the increase in cognitive learning outcomes of pre-service teachers with lower academic abilities after using the RQA learning model. This quasi-experimental research with pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design involved pre-service of Biology Education Study Program Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang as research samples. The research instrument was in the form of an essay test, and its rubric and the results were analyzed using ANCOVA. The research finding that the pre-service teachers who have the lower academic ability who taught by using RQA learning model got an average score of cognitive learning outcomes that were higher than pre-service teacher who have high academic ability who taught by using conventional learning. Thus, RQA can be used as a powerful alternative learning model to improving cognitive learning outcomes of pre-service teacher.   Keywords :  academik ability, cognitive learning outcome, RQA learning model, pre-service teacher, teacher education
