Abstract

The Research about the food habits and length-weight relationship of Labiobarbus leptocheilus Valenciennes was conducted from May to September 2010. The aims of this research were to find out the food habits and to analyze the growth pattern of Labiobarbus leptocheilus Valenciennes. The sampling of fishes was conducted on May 2010 in the Gajah Mungkur Reservoir, Central Java. The sampling of fishes was conducted by using survey on the landing place of fishes (TPI Mina Tirta). The methods of analysis of food habits by using the Index of preponderance. The results of this research obtained were 19 samples of Labiobarbus leptocheilus Valenciennes, the length between 15-20 cm, with the weight between 40-90 grams. Labiobarbus leptocheilus Valenciennes had the negative allometric growth pattern (b <3). The laboratory analysis of food habits showed that the food habits of Labiobarbus leptocheilus Valenciennes were detritus with Index of Preponderance (IP) 82.95% and plankton with IP 17.05%.Keywords: food, habits, length-weight, relationship, Labiobarbus leptocheilus

Abstract

Movement is an essential mechanism by which mobile animals acquire the resources necessary for the successful completion of their life-cycles. Striped catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) contributed about 384 tonnes or approximately 40,04% to the total fish production in Gajah Mungkur reservoir. Diversion of Keduang River, one of Gajah Mungkur important inlets, could affect the the movement of this fish. The objective of this research were to analyze data related to the movement patterns and growth of Pangasianodon hypophthalmus. Field works were conducted from March to December 2011 by tagging experiment of large fish with the PDS-Tags and the T Bar-Tags for the small ones. Fish samples used for the experiment were collected from fisherment catch in Gajah Mungkur reservoir. The tag numbers, the release time, and the fish size were noted before releasing the tagged fish were released. Fishermen who caught the tagged fish were advised to report the fish tag number, time of catching, and fish size. The results showed that the Pangasianodon hypophthalmus could moved as far as 200 m to 15 km in 3- 176 days. In the rainy season most of the catfish moved far into the inlet wiroko and Keduang, and some to the inlet Wuryantoro. Pangasianodon hypophthalmusin Gajah Mungkur Reservoir had growth equation of Lt= 99(1-e 0.762(t-0.15)), with the growth coeficient (K)= 0.762/year, t0=0.15 year, infinity length (L”)= 99 cm. Water diversion of Keduang river, one of Gajah Mungkur inlets, did not fully dried the River during dry season and affected striped catfish movement and growth.

Abstract

Sungai Kapuas, Kalimantan Barat mempunyai tipe ekosistem yang kompleks dan keanekaragaman jenis ikan tinggi. Sungai Kapuas ini sudah mendapat tekanan dari luar terutama dari pertanian, perkebunan, dan pertambangan. Akibatnya, beberapa jenis ikannya sudah mulai langka antara lain ringo (Datniodes quadrifsciatus), siluk (Scleropags formosus), belantau (Macrochirichthys macrochirus), dan kapas (Rohteichthys microlepis). Suatu kajian stok ikan dengan menggunakan metode akustik dilakukan pada bulan Juli dan Desember 2006 di Sungai Kapuas. Lokasi yang diambil adalah ruas Sungai Kapuas dari Pontianak ke hilir sampai Muara Jungkat, ruas Sungai Kapuas dan ruas anak sungainya sekitar Tayan, ruas anak sungai perairan banjiran di kawasan Sentarum dan satu buah danau sungai mati yaitu Danau Empangau. Untuk mengetahui komposisi jenis ikan, pengambilan contoh ikan dilakukan dan hasil tangkapan dicatat oleh enumerator. Stok ikan di hilir antara Pontianak dan Muara Jungkat adalah 1.847 ind./Ha, di Tayan pada sungai Kapuas dan anak sungainya masing-masing adalah 157 dan 403 ind./Ha, di kawasan Sentarum berkisar 1.087 - 1.634 ind./Ha, dan di Danau Empangau adalah 5.708 ind./Ha. Jenis ikan yang mendominansi di perairan antara Pontianak ke Muara Jungkat yaitu sengarat (Kryptopterus trichopterus) dan baung (Mystus nemurus), di Tayan yaitu kotol mulut (Amblyrhycnchichthys truncatus) dan kelabau (Osteochilus melanopleura), di kawasan Sentarum yaitu bauk (Labiobabrus spp.), sepat (Trichogaster trichopterus), dan toman (Channa micropeltes), serta di Danau Empangau yaitu entukan (Thynnichthys thynnoides), umpan (Puntius waandersii), dan biawan (Helostoma temminckii).  Kapuas River, West Kalimantan has various ecosystem types and high fish biodiversity. This river has been pressured by other sectors such as agriculture, plantation, and mining. Some of fish species such as ringo (Datniodes quadrifsciatus), siluk (Scleropags formosus), belantau (Macrochirichthys macrochirus), and kapas (Rohteichthys microlepis) endanger. A study on fish stock assessment using accoustic methods was done on July and December 2006 in Kapuas River. The locations selected in this study were down stream from Pontianak to Muara Jungkat, segment of Kapuas River and its tributary around Tayan area, in segment of Sentarum floodplains (Empangau oxbow lake). Average fish stock in downstream segment was 1,847 ind./Ha, around Tayan in main river and its tributary was 157 ind./Ha and 403, respectively, in Sentarum ranged 1,087 - 1,634 ind./Ha and in Empangau Lake was 5,708 ind./Ha. Fish species dominance from Pontianak to Muara Jungkat was sengarat (Kryptopterus sp.) and baung (Mystus nemurus), in Tayan was kotol mulut (Amblyrhycnchichthys truncatus) and kelabau (Osteochilusmelanopleura), in Sentarum was bauk (Labiobabrus spp.), sepat (Trichogaster trichopterus), and toman (Channa micropeltes), and in Empangau Lake were entukan (Thinnichthys thynnoides), umpan (Puntius waandersii), and biawan (Helostoma temminckii).

Abstract

Penelitian hasil tangkapan beberapa jenis alat tangkap dan kegiatan penangkapan ikan di Bengawan Solo telah dilakukan dari bulan Mei-Desember 2004. Penelitian ini dilakukan denganmetode survei pada empat stasiun pengamatan di Sungai Bengawan Solo yaituWaduk Gajah Mungkur dan Bendung Colo (bagian hulu), Cemeng (bagian tengah) dan Ngablak (bagian hilir). Hasil tangkapan dan jenis ikan yang tertangkap didapatkan dari nelayan yang dipilih sebagai responden dan dibahas berdasarkan pada musim dan stasiun. Hasil pengamatan menunjukan bahwa ikan tebaran sepertiikan patin jambal (Pangasius hypophthalmus), nila (Oreochromis niloticus), dan tawes (Barbonymus gonionotus) dominan tertangkap di Waduk Gajah Mungkur, Wonogiri. Ikan sapu-sapu (Liposarcus pardalis) ditemukan di daerah Solo-Sragen, sedangkan di bagian hilir antara daerah Bojonegoro sampai Lamongan tertangkap jenis ikan lokal antara lain ikan jambal (Pangasius djambal), lumbet (Cryptopterus spp.), tagih (Mystus nemurus), dan wagal (Pangasius micronema). A study on determine of some fishing gear activities species in Solo River was conducted from May to December 2004. Observation used in this research was survey method by setting 4 station as long as Solo River, there are Waduk Gajah Mungkur dan Bendung Colo (upstream), Cemeng (middle etream), and Ngablak (down stream). Catching of gear, species was found from responden in every station based on season and station. Research shown that exotic species such as nila (Oreocromis niloticus), jambal (Pangasius hypophthalmus), tawes (Barbodes gonionotus) are commonly found in the upper reaches of the river system. Sapu-sapu (Liposarcus pardalis) is frequently found in the middle river (Cemeng). Native species such as jambal (Pangasius djambal), tagih (Hemibagrus nemurus), wagal (Pangasius micronema), lumbet (Cryptopterus spp.) are normally found in the lower of Bengawan Solo River system (Ngablak).

Abstract

Sungai Kapuas memiliki keanekaragaman jenis ikan yang tinggi dilaporkan mencapai sekitar 200 spesies. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik habitat serta sebaran jenis ikan di Sungai Kapuas bagian tengah dan hilir. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan April, Juli, September, dan Nopember 2006. Parameter yang diamati meliputi kualitas air (suhu, kecerahan, daya hantar listrik, pH, CO2, oksigen terlarut, alkalinitas, BOD, PPO 4, N-NO3, N-NO2, COD, N-NH3, dan salinitas), habitat perairan, serta sebaran jenis ikan. Contoh air diambil dari sembilan stasiun pengamatan yaitu di bagian tengah Tengkidap, Pengembung, Pemerak, Bukit Tekenang, dan Sambar Indah dan di bagian hilir Muara Jungkat, Sungai Raya, Muara Sungai Tayan, dan Semitau, contoh air dianalisis menggunakan American Public Health Association (1986). Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik kualitas air bagian tengah dan hilir relatif sama dan karakteristik habitat Sungai Kapuas bagian tengah merupakan daerah rawa banjiran (flood plain) yang banyak terdapat hutan rawa danmerupakan kawasan konservasi dari Taman Nasional Danau Sentarum. Karakteristik habitat Sungai Kapuas bagian hilir dipengaruhi oleh pasang surut air laut dan merupakan kawasan industri. Jenis ikan yang dijumpai di sepanjang stasiun pengamatan terdapatsekitar 123 jenis, penyebarannya terkonsentrasi di sungai bagian tengah ± 120 jenis yang didominansi oleh ikan Cyprinidae dan Sungai Kapuas bagian hilir ±85 jenis yang didominansi oleh ikan dukang (Arius stomi) dan janggut(Polynemus longipectoralis). Kapuas River has a high diversity of fish species reported to reach about 200 species. This study aimed to characterize the habitat and distribution of fish species in the Kapuas River middle and downstream sections. The study was conducted in April, July, September, and November 2006. The parameters observed included water quality (temperature, brightness, electrical conductivity, pH, CO2, dissolved oxygen, alkalinity, BOD, P-PO4, NNO3, N-NO2, COD, NH3-N, and salinity), and aquatic habitats distribution of fish species. Water samples taken from nine observation stations are in the middle Tengkidap, Pengembung, Pemerak, Bukit Tekenang, and Sambar Indah and in the downstream Muara Jungkat, Sungai Raya, Muara Sungai Tayan, and Semitau, water samples were analyzed using the American Public Health Association (1986). The results showed that characteristics of water quality downstream of the middle and relatively similar, habitat characteristics of the Kapuas River and the middle is a swamp area flood plain that there are still a lot of swamp forest and is a conservation area of the Park Lake Sentarum. Characteristics of the Kapuas River downstream habitats are influenced by tides and is an industrial area. Types of fish that are found along the observation stations are about 123 species, its distribution is concentrated at the center of the ± 120 River dominated by fish species cyprinidae and Kapuas River downstream of ± 85 species dominated by fish dukang (Arius stomi) and janggut (Polynemus longipectoralis).

Abstract

Waduk Kedung Ombo merupakan waduk serbaguna dimanfaatkan sebagai irigasi persawahan, pembangkit tenaga listrik, sumber air minum, pariwisata, perikanan budidaya dan perikanan tangkap. Limbah aktivitas manusia tersebut akan mempengaruhi tingkat kesuburan perairan dan komunitas biota didalamnya.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kesuburan perairan di waduk Kedung Ombo di lakukan dengan metode surve dari bulan Februari hingga Desember 2010. Contoh air untuk pengamatan parameter kesuburan yaitu suhu, kecerahan, oksigen, nitrogen total, fosfor total dan klorofil a diambil dari enam stasiun pada tiga kedalaman yaitu permukaan (0 m), 3 m, 5 m dan, dasar perairan. Tingkat kesuburan perairan ditentukan dengan pendekatan   trophical index (trix). Hasil  penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas perairan waduk Kedung Ombo secara umum termasuk perairan eutrofik dengan nilai rata-rata yaitu: ’trix’ 5,5; kecerahan perairan 91 cm,  klorofil 18.37 µg/l, total N=0,37 ppm; dan total P =  0,046 ppm. Kedung Ombo reservoir is a multipurpose reservoir used as irrigation, hydrolic power, sources of drinking water, tourism, fisheries.  The trophic status of the reservoir can be affected by wastes from agricultural, human settlement  and floating net cages fish culture. Inventory field survey in order to know the trophic state of Kedung Ombo reservoir was conducted from February to December 2010..  Water samples used to measure the trophic state such as water temperature, dissolved oxygen, total nitrogen, total phosphorus and chlorophyll a, were collected from 5 sampling sites at three depth; water surface (0 m), 3 m, 5 m and closed to surface sediment. The trophic state of Kedung Ombo Reservoir was estimated with Trix index. The results revealed that Kedung Ombo Reservoir was classified as eutrophic waters with trophic index (Trix index),transparency, chlorophyll a, total nitrogen and total phosphorus mean values were  5.5, 91 Cm,  18.37µg/l, 0,37 ppm,and  0.046 ppm respectively.

Abstract

Perairan Waduk Gajah Mungkur merupakan tipe perairan yang tergenang mempunyai dan arti penting bagi perikanan. Plankton di perairanWadukmempunyai peranan bagi sumberdaya perikanan, antara lain sebagai produsen primer dan dapat dijadikan sebagai indikator kualitas lingkungan perairan. Kelimpahan plankton di suatu perairan dipengaruhi oleh parameter lingkungan perairan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untukmengetahui tingkat kesuburan perairan, kelimpahan dan keanekaragaman plankton Penelitian dilakukan bulan Pebruari - Nopember 2010 dengan frekuensi pengambilan contoh sebanyak empat kali yaitu pada bulan Pebruari, Mei, Juli dan Nopember. Analisis tingkat kesuburan perairan dengan metode Carlon’s dapat diketahui perairan Waduk Gajah Mungkur termasuk katagori perairan dengan tingkat kesuburannya tinggi.Waduk GajahMungkur termasuk perairan dengan kelimpahan plankton tinggi dan keanekaragaman plankton rendah yang didominansi oleh Synedra ulna Gajah Mungkur reservoir is a lentic water and has significance impact for fishery. Plankton in the reservoir as the primary producer has an important role on fisheries, could be used as an indicator of aquatic environmental quality. Abundance of plankton will be influenced by environmental condition including water quality. The purpose of this study to determine the productivity level of water quality, abundance and diversity of plankton. The study was conducted from February to November 2010, with schedule of sampling was in February, May, July and November 2010. Based on analysis by Carlon’s method, the results showed that the water quality at Gajah Mungkur reservoirwas eutrophic level. Gajah Mungkur reservoir has high plankton abundance and low plankton diversity the species of plankton was dominated by Synedra ulna.

Abstract

Perairan Rawa Peningmerupakan tipe perairan yang tergenang dan mempunyai arti penting bagi perikanan. Masalah utama yang ada di Rawa Pening yaitu pendangkalan karena sedimentasi dan eutrofikasi yang disebabkan pencemaran air berasal dari limbah rumah tangga, pertanian dan budidaya perikanan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untukmengetahui tingkat kesuburan perairan dan kualitas air di Rawa Pening. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Mei, Juni, Agustus dan Oktober 2013. Frekuensi pengambilan contoh dilakukan empat kali yaitu pada bulan Mei, Juni,Agustus dan Oktober. Stasiun pengamatan meliputi:A. Tengah (Puteran); B.Muara sungai (Torong); C.Area KJA; D. Pemotongan eceng Gondok (tengah 1); E. Sungai keluar (Tuntang); F. Muara sungai (Muncul); G. Tidak ada pemotongan eceng gondok (tengah 2). Data tingkat kesuburan perairan dianalisis dengan metode Carlon’s.Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan bahwa Rawa Pening termasuk katagori perairan dengan tingkat kesuburan tinggi, nilai Thropic State Index (TSI) pada semua stasiun pengamatan berkisar antara 57,22 - 68,06. Kondisi kualitas air yang kurang baik tersebut akanmerugikan perikanan, seperti kejadian kematian ikanmasal, lambatnya pertumbuhan ikan dan penurunan daya dukung perairan.The Rawa Pening waters is a lentic water and has significance for fishery. The main problems in Rawa Pening are silting due to sedimentation and eutrophication due to water pollution from household waste, agriculture and fisheries. The study aims to examine trophic level and water quality. The research conducted on May, June, August and October 2013. There was 7 stations i.e. A. middle (Puteran); B. inlet of Torong; C. Location of aquaculture;D. locations where harvesting of water hyacinth occurred (middle1); E. outlet (Tuntang); F. inlet (Muncul); G. location where no harvest of water hyacinth (middle 2). Trophic level were analyzed by Carlon’s method. The results showed that Rawa Pening waters categorized as the high eutrophication level where the Trophic State Index (TSI) was 57. 22 to 68. 06. The low water quality will be detrimentaled to fisheries, such as mass fish death, slow fish growth and also a decline of carrying capacity of ecosystem.

Abstract

Bengawan Solo merupakan sungai yang sudah banyak mengalami perubahan oleh Waduk, Bendungan, Sodetan, dan lain-lain. Bengawan Solo melewati Provinsi Jawa Tengah dan Jawa Timur yang padat penduduk, sekitar 15,2 juta jiwa berdomisili di satuan wilayah Sungai Bengawan Solo dan juga banyak terdapat industri. Permasalahan tersebut dapat berpengaruh langsung terhadap kehidupan organisme air kajian tentang parameter físika-kimia perairan diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi tentang status kualitas perairan di Bengawan Solo. Parameter yang diamati dalam penelitianini adalah oksigen terlarut, karbondioksida, pH, fenol, minyak-lemak, amonia, Cd, Cr, Zn, Pb, Cu, dan CN. Terdapat indikasi bahwa Bengawan Solo di daerah Solo-Sragen dan sekitarnya telah tercemar bobot dengan kualitas air buruk yaitu oksigen rendah (beberapa lokasi kurang dari 2 mg/L, karbon dioksida tinggi (8,8-34,32 mg/L), NH3-N bebas tinggi (beberapa lokasi lebih dari 0,2 mg/L), COD tinggi (1,64-172 mg/L), fenol tinggi (0,087-1,431 mg/L), minyak lemak tinggi (2,6-54,6 mg/L).Konsentrasi logam bobot pada beberapa lokasi yaitu Kampung Sewu, Bak Kramat, dan Tundungan cukup tinggi yaitu Cr= 0,180- 0,375 mg/L, Cu=0,026-0,293 mg/L, dan Zn=0,515-2,892 mg/L. Demikian juga kandungan logam bobot pada ikan sapu-sapu (Liposarcus pardalis) cukup tinggi pada beberapa lokasi Kampung Sewu, Tundungan, Bak Kramat, dan Butuh; Cr=0,856- 2,154 mg/kg, Cu=3, 69-198,48 mg/kg, Pb=1,067 - 2,006 mg/kg, dan Zn=53,516-102,285 mg/kg. Perlu dilakukan pengendalian pencemaran di Bengawan Solo dengan cara meningkatkan kesadaran bersama, pemantauan pembuangan limbah, dan penindakan bagi para pelanggaran. Bengawan Solo River is highly modified by dams, impoundment, reservoir, channelization, etc. It traverse through Central Java and East Java province in its passage from headwaters to the sea. Industries and heavy population (approximately 15.2 million people) near the river have potentially wreaked havoc upon the river. Study on physical and chemical parameters expected provide enough information on water quality condition in Bengawan Solo River. Parameters under study were disolved oxygen, carbondioxid, pH, fenol, NH3-N, oil, and grease, COD, Cr, Cd, Pb, Zn, Cu, and CN. An overview of water quality of Bengawan Solo River in Solo-Sragen region indicates that the segments is already strongly polluted as indicated as low oxygen (some location less than 2 mg/L) and high amount of CO2 (8,8-34.32), high free NH3-N (some location more than 0,2 mg/L), COD (1,64-172 mg/L), fenol (0.087- 1,431 mg/L), and oil and grease (2,6-54.6 mg/L). Heavy metals content of some location at Kampung Sewu, Bak Kramat, and Butuh were Cr=0,180-0,375 mg/L, Cu=0,026-0,293 mg/L, Zn=0,515-2,892 mg/L. Heavy metals content in fish tissue of sapu-sapu were high enough at some location (Kampung Sewu, Tundungan, Bak Kramat, and Butuh); Cr=0,856-2,154 mg/kg, Cu=3,69-198,48 mg/kg, Pb=1,067- 2,006 mg/kg, and Zn=53,516-102,285 mg/kg.

Abstract

Bengawan Solo merupakan sungai yang sudah banyak mengalami perubahan sepeni waduk, bendungan, sodetan, dan lain-lain. Bengawan Solo melewati Propinsi Jawa Tengah dan Timur yang padat penduduk sekitar 15,2 juta jiwa tinggat di satuan wjlayah Sungai Bengawan Solo dan banyak terdapat industri.
