Abstract

Perbedaan potensi genetik berpengaruh pada kedalaman perakaran, dan jarak pagar mengubah pola tumbuhnya dalam merespon kondisi lingkungan sehingga tanaman dapat tumbuh dan bertahan pada berbagai kondisi dan jenis tanah, maka pemilihan genotype atau varietas yang akan dikembangkan pada suatu kawasan tertentu perlu menjadi pertimbangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahuai pertumbuhan perakaran tanaman muda beberapa genotipe unggul jarak pagar. Pembibitan secara langsung pada polibag berisi media tanah-kompos (1:1 v/v) di bawah naungan paranet selama 2 bulan, sebanyak 3 ulangan (masing-masing 25 bibit). Sejumlah 20 bibit berumur 2 bulan ditanam di lapangan berjarak tanam 1.5x2.0 m diatur secara grid systim. Pengamatan akar dilakukan dengan cara membongkar media tumbuh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa selama periode 6 bulan, tidak ada perbedaan pertumbuhan akar antar genotype.Akar tunggang tumbuh geotropik dengan empat akar lateral yang tumbuh horizontal dan terkonsentrasi pada pangkal akar tunggang, sehingga membentuk sistim perakaran dangkal. Pertumbuhan (panjang dan diameter) akar tunggang tampak lebih mendominasi keempat akar lateral.Kata Kunci: arsitektur akar, biomassa akar, distribusi akar, geotropic ABSTRACTSince there are differences in genetic potential effect on rooting depth, and also Jatropha curcas change the pattern of growth in response to environmental conditions so that the plants can grow and survive in various conditions and soil types, then the selection of genotypes or varieties to be developed in a particular area should be considered. This study aims to know the growth of young plant root of superior genotypes of Jatropha curcas. Seeding directly in polybags plastic containing medium mixtures of soil-compost (1: 1 v/v) under  shade net for 2 months, as many as 3 replicates (each 25 seeds). Some 20 seedlings of 2 months old were field planting with 1.5 m x 2.0 m spacing arranged in a grid system. Root growth observations were done by dig growing medium. The results showed that during the period of 6 months, there were no differences of root growth between genotype. Tap-root grows geotropic with four lateral roots that grow horizontally and concentrated at the base of the taproot, thus forming a shallow rooting system. Root growth, length and diameter, of tap-root appeared to be greater to four lateral roots.Keywords: architectural roots, root biomass, root distribution, geotropic

Abstract

Buah kelor (Moringas oleifera L.) yang secara fisik berukuran panjang dan memiliki banyak biji di dalamnya tentu akan menyebabkan perbedaan tingkat kematangan biji dan kemudian perbedaan pada viabilitas benih yang dihasilkan. Penelitian ekperimental ini terdiri atas dua percobaan, yaitu percobaan pertama bertujuan mengetahui viabilitas biji dari tiga posisi biji dalam buah dan percobaan kedua bertujuan mengetahui pertumbuhan bibit tanaman kelor hingga umur dua bulan dari masing-masing posisi biji pada buah tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa posisi biji dalam buah kelor berpengaruh nyata terhadap viabilitas benih, namun berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap pertumbuhan bibit hingga umur dua bulan. Biji-biji pada posisi di pangkal dan tengah dari buah memiliki viabilitas lebih baik dibandingkan biji-biji pada posisi di ujung buah.Kata kunci: berat biji, pemasakan, perkecambahan, posisi biji ABSTRACTFruits of Moringas oleifera L. is physically long and has many seeds in would certainly cause differences in seed maturity level and then difference in seed viability. This experimental research consisted of two experiments, the first experiment was aimed to find out the seed viability of the three seed positions in the fruits and the second experiment was aimed to determine the growth of the Moringa seedlings up to two months age from each seed position. The results shows that the seed position was significantly affected the viability of the seeds, but were not affected to the growth of seedlings until the age of two months. The seeds in position at the base and the middle of the fruit have better viability than the seeds in position at the end of the fruit.Key words: germination, seed position, ripening, seed weight

Abstract

Salah satu keunggulan tanaman kelor adalah komponen proksimat biji, yang dapat dipandang sebagai sumber bahan tanam yaitu benih dan juga sebagai bahan dasar olahan industri, yang kualitasnya sangat ditentukan oleh bagaimana cara memproses biji-biji tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui keragaan komponen proksimat biji kelor pada berbagai cara pengeringan biji. Teknik pengeringan tersebut adalah pengeringan dengan menggunakan oven pada 60±3 OC dan pada 105±3 OC, pengeringan dengan sinar matahari, dan pengeringan dengan aliran angin (kering angin). Sebanyak 250 g sampel biji digunakan pada setiap teknik pengeringan dengan tiga ulangan. Analisis proksimat biji kelor dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode standar oleh AOAC (2000). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan teknik pengeringan berpengaruh nyata terhadap komponen proksimat biji kelor akibat ada perbedaan suhu pengeringan. Terjadi penurunan kandungan lemak dan protein biji seiring dengan semakin meningkat suhu pengeringan terutama pada teknik pengeringan oven (60 OC dan 100 OC). Teknik pengeringan kering angin dan pengeringan dengan sinar matahari adalah teknik yang lebih baik untuk pengeringan biji kelor

Abstract

One important issue of agricultural development in the dry land area of North Lombok Regency is how to increase the Planting Index (IP) supported by the availability of sufficient water, especially for the development of horticultural commodities. The increase in the Planting Index is expected to lead to an increase in community welfare, specifically an increase in farmers' incomes. The development of horticulture is intended to provide added value to farmers' income by applying environmentally friendly Good Agricultural Practices with production management in accordance with the conditions of natural resources. One area of dry land that has sufficient potential for horticultural development in North Lombok Regency is Kayangan Village. Problems faced by dry land farmers include the level of knowledge and skills of farmers, especially in the management of horticultural commodities and the relatively low level of farmer participation. To overcome these problems, innovation technology transfer is needed through the development of environmentally friendly horticultural crops by regulating cropping systems and improving cultivation technology to increase farmers' incomes. Counseling and training, as well as demonstration plots for improved cultivation technology and regulation of horticultural cropping patterns were carried out during May-November 2019. Community service activities were considered quite successful in terms of the enthusiasm and perseverance of participants in participating in counseling and training, as well as demonstration plots (tomato plants, chili peppers, melons, intercropped tomatoes and pachoi). The results of the demonstration plot showed a significant increase both in crop productivity and increased income per unit area of arable land. On going assistance from all parties, especially the local government, is expected to sustainably develop horticultural commodities in order to increase the income of dry land farmers
