Abstract

Background: Hospitals malnutrition has been reported to occur in almost 40% of patients hospitalized. Hypoalbuminemia is one of sign of malnutrition. Hypoalbuminemia can be resolved with intravenous albumin and a high albumin diet can be done by administering an extra egg white (albumin) on diet. By feeding in the form of a refreshing juice will hopefully can increase the food intake, which is expected to help improve albumin and hemoglobin (Hb) in blood level.Objective: The aim of this research is knowing the effect of egg white juice of the albumin and Hb levels in patients hipoalbumin.Method: This type of research is experimental approach with pretest-posttest control group design. While the treatment effect assessed from differences in measurement results (albumin and Hb level) between the 2 groups. The study was conducted in Sardjito and P. Senopati Bantul Hospital. The  treatment group will be given a hospital standard diet and given extra egg white juice 3x/day for 7 consecutive days. The control group was given a hospital standard diet and extra egg white as a side dish. Data were analyzed using t-test with 95% CI.Results: The mean of albumin increase in the treatment group was higher (0.5215 ± 1.6852) than the control group (0.007 ± 0.4522) (p=0.001). The mean of Hb increase in treatment group (1.685 ± 1.5898) was higher than the control group (0.929 ± 2.3169), but not statistically significant (p=0.163).Conclusion: Giving extra egg white juice 3x/day for 7 days it can be used as an alternative to high-protein diets, they are inexpensive (low cost) and easily administered to the patient, and can increase in albumin levels.

Abstract

Praktek pemberian ASI di Indonesia masih buruk, masyarakat masih sering beranggapan bahwa menyusui hanya  urusan  ibu  dan  bayinya.  Kelompok  Pendukung  (KP)  Ibu  dilakukan  untuk  meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang ASI Eksklusif dan praktek pemberian ASI  Eksklusif, serta memungkinkan petugas kesehatan  untuk  melakukan  pendampingan  teknis  yang  akhirnya  akan  meningkatkan  cakupan  ASI Eksklusif.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas program Kelompok Pendukung (KP) Ibuterhadap  perilaku  pemberian  ASI  Eksklusif.  Penelitian  ini  merupakan  penelitian  observas ional  dengan rancangan  Kohort  yang  dilaksanakan  pada  bulan  Juli  s.d. Desember  2011  di  wilayah  kerja  Puskesmas Kasihan  II  Kabupaten  Bantul.  Sampel   ditentukan  dengan  cara  purposive  sampling,  dengan  ketentuan bayi  usia  3-4  bulan,  masih  memberikan  ASI  saja,  tinggal  di  wilayah  kerja  Puskesmas  Kasihan  II  dan bersedia mengikuti penelitian. Kriteria eksklusinya adalah ibu dengan penyakit kronis yang mengganggu pemberian ASI  eksklusif  dan menyusui lebih dari 1 bayi (bayi kembar). Jumlah tiap-tiap kelompok subyek(KP-Ibu dan Non KP-Ibu) adalah 35 orang, dengan melakukan  matching untuk umur. Penempatan kedalam kelompok  KP  dan  Non  KP  dilakukan  secara  acak.  Data  dianalisis  dengan  t  test  dan  chi  square.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat  hubungan  yang nyata  perlakuan KP Ibu terhadap pengetahuan tentang ASI untuk responden yang berpendidikan rendah, tidak bekerja (sebagai ibu rumah tangga), dan yang mendapatkan Inisiasi Menyusu Dini  (IMD). Sebaliknya untuk responden yang berpendidikan tinggi, bekerja, dan tidak mendapat Inisiasi menyusu  dini, hubungan  ini tidak nyata.  Kesimpulannya, kelompok pendukung  ibu  untuk  mensukseskan  pemberian  ASI  eksklusif  (praktek  menyusu)  sangat  bermanfaat dalam  meningkatkan  pengetahuan  ibu  tentang  ASI  pada  responden  yang  berpendidikan  rendah,  tidak bekerja (sebagai ibu rumah tangga saja), dan yang mendapatkan Inisiasi Menyusu Dini. Abstract

Background: Dietary pattern has changed in almost all over the world that nowadays people consume high fat and low fiber diet. These changes are responsible for the increased obesity problems in community. Ratio between waist circumference and hip circumference could become an indicator for android obesity. This type of obesity has a stronger relationship with increasing risk factor of coronary heart disease, hypertension, and diabetes mellitus, compared to gynecoid type obesity.Objective: To identify relationship between dietary pattern and waist hip circumference ratio with blood pressure at Mergangsan Primary Health Care Yogyakarta.Method: This was an observational research with cross sectional study, held at November 2008. Research population was all adult patients came to Mergangsan Primary Health Care. Independent variable including dietary pattern and hip waist circumference ratio (RLPP), and blood pressure as dependent variable. Characteristic sample data were collected using questionnaire and interview, data of waist–hip circumference ratio were collected using metlin (accuracy 0.1 cm), data of blood pressure were measured with sphygmomanometer, and data of dietary patterns were collected using semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire (FFQS). Samples were taken with judgmental technique sampling. Data were analyzed using chi-square and odds ratio.Results: Percentage samples that consumed carbohydrate source diet frequently was 91.1%, whereas samples that consumed animal and plant diet served were 71 % and 88.9%; vegetables and fruits 65.6% and 52.5%, 78.9% samples seldom consumed milk, 92.2% frequently consumed oil and others consumed frequently 90%. Female samples with obesity nutritional status were 55.6%. Mean value of waist hip circumference ratio were 1.03 ± 0.13 and 0.88 ± 0.1 for male and female, respectively. Dietary pattern of some foods and blood pressure showed significant relationship, that were vegetables (p = 0.003; OR = 0.194), fruits (p = 0.00, OR = 1.17), milk (p = 0.010; OR 5.76), and others (p = 0.047; OR 5.76). Waist hip circumference ratio also had significant relationship with blood pressure (p = 0.009).Conclusion: There were significant relationships between dietary pattern of vegetables, fruits, milk, and others with blood pressure. Waist hip circumference ratio also had significant relationship with blood pressure.

Abstract

Background: School Health Program (UKS) is agent to promote and increase health status of school children. Headmaster have  responsiblility to monitoring  school health children, including nutritional status. Objectives: to asses the effectiveness of a short course on knowledge and skills of UKS?s teachers in the assessment of children nutritional status. Methods: This was a before after  experimental quasy,  in Yogyakarta in 2015. Intervention was a short course  20 hours  designed to develop the knowledge and skill of UKS?s theacher.  Subject were 37 UKS?s teachers in Sleman Regency, with criterian complete attending. Data were analyzed by t-test using SPSS. Results: Most of the respondents were  public elementary school (68.6%), male (59.4%), 31-40 years old (34.4%), sports teachers (65,5%), managing UKS for 5 years (37.5%), never got similar short course (94.8%). There were an increase of knowledge and skills by 4.9±3.2 and 3±2.8 respectively,  statistically significant. Conclusion: The study provides evidence for effectivenes to increase  knowledge and skills UKS?s theachers in  monitoring  nutritional status of children.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Growth monitoring is one of major program of nutrition improvement that emphasizes on efforts to maintain and improve nutritional status of under? ves. Technically, some errors often occur such as the use of inappropriate and non-calibrated scale, errors in placing the scale, and in reading the result of weighing. To improve knowledge, skills, and compliance of cadres, it is necessary to conduct training on growth monitoring standard of under? ves in order that cadres can improve the capacity in evaluating growth and improve their effectiveness and ef? ciency in working at the integrated post (posyandu).Objective: To identify the effect of training to the improvement of knowledge, skills, and compliance of cadres in implementing growth monitoring standard of under? ves at Bitung Municipality, North Sulawesi. Method: The study was a quasi experiment which used non-equivalent control group design. It was carried out at Bitung Barat and Aer Tembaga Health Center of Bitung Municipality, North Sulawesi to the two groups of cadres. The experiment group consisted of 44 cadres who got training twice, each was carried out a month before the evaluation on knowledge, skills, and compliance. The control group consisted of 46 cadres that got modul of growth monitoring standard of under? ves. Research instruments used were questionnaire/checklist of knowledge, skills, and compliance. The result was analyzed using Chi-Square.Result: Training improved knowledge and skills of cadres in implementing growth standard of under? ves. This was indicated from average knowledge of the experiment group during pre test as much as 0.328+0.086, post-test 1 as much as 0.335+0.554, post-test 2 as much as 0.328+0.106. Average skills of experiment group during pre-test were 0.446+0.067, post-test 1 was 0.549+0.544, post-test 2 was 0.873±0.106. Average compliance of the experiment group during pre-test was 0.457+1.08, post-test 1 was 0.548+0.321, post-test 2 was 0.542±0.365. This was indicated from average knowledge of the control group during pre- test as much as 0.122+0.155, post-test 1 as much as 0.154+0.856, post-test 2 as much as 0.195+0.235. Average skills of control group during pre-test was 0.366+0.103, post-test 1 was 0.431+0.856, post-test 2 was 0.426+0.235. Average compliance of the control group during pre-test was 0.352+0.363, post-test 1 was 0.362+0.363, post-test 2 was 0.365±0.368. The result of statistical analysis in average difference was p=0.000 for knowledge, p=0.000 for skills and p=0.004 for compliance in post-test 2, showing that the improvement was signi? cant (p<0.05).Conclusion: There was signi? cant improvement in knowledge skills and compliance of cadres who got training on the implementation of growth monitoring standard of under? ves at Posyandu. KEYWORDS: training, cadres, posyandu, growth standard of under? vesABSTRAKLatar Belakang: Pemantauan pertumbuhan merupakan salah satu kegiatan utama program perbaikan gizi yang menitik beratkan pada upaya pencegahan dan peningkatan keadaan gizi balita. Secara teknis, sering ditemui beberapa kesalahan antara lain dalam menggunakan timbangan yang tidak layak dan tidak dikalibrasi dan dalam pemasangan timbangan dan pembacaan hasil. Untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kepatuhan kader, perlu diadakan pelatihan standar pemantauan pertumbuhan balita agar kader dapat meningkatkan kemampuan dalam menilai pertumbuhan, serta meningkatkan efektivitas dan e? siensi kerjanya di posyandu.Tujuan: Mengetahui pengaruh pelatihan terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kepatuhan kader dalam menerapkan standar pemantauan pertumbuhan balita di Kota Bitung, Sulawesi Utara.Metode:Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimental dengan rancangan non-equivalent control group design, berlokasi di Puskesmas Bitung Barat dan Puskesmas Aertembaga, Kota Bitung, Sulawesi Utara. Kelompok perlakuan adalah kader Puskesmas Aertembaga yang berjumlah 44 orang yang mendapat pelatihan standar pemantauan pertumbuhan balita 2 kali. Setiap pelatihan dilaksanakan 2 hari dan evaluasi pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kepatuhan 1 bulan setelah pelatihan. Kelompok pembanding kader adalah Puskesmas Bitung Barat berjumlah 46 orang yang mendapat modul standar pemantauan pertumbuhan balita. Hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan T-test,Chi-Square dan uji multivariat. Alat penelitian adalah kuesioner/Cheklist pengetahuan, daftar tilik keterampilan, dan kepatuhan.Hasil: Pelatihan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader untuk menerapkan standar pertumbuhan balita. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan nilai rerata pengetahuan kelompok perlakuan pada pretest sebesar 0,328±0,086, post-test 1 sebesar 0,335±0,554, post-test 2 sebesar 0,328±0,106 Nilai rerata keterampilan kelompok perlakuan pada pretest sebesar 0,446±0,067, post-test 1 sebesar 0,549±0,554, post-test 2 sebesar0,873±0,106. Nilai rerata kepatuhan kelompok perlakuan pada pretest sebesar 0,457±0,108, post-test 1 sebesar 0,548±0,321, post-test 2 sebesar 0,542±0,365. Pada kelompok pembanding, nilai rerata pengetahuan pretest sebesar 0,122±1.55, post-test 1 sebesar 0,154±856, post-test 2 sebesar 0,195±0,235. Nilai rerata keterampilan pretest sebesar0,366±0,103, post-test 1 sebesar 0,431±0,856, post-test 2 sebesar 0,426±0,235. Nilai rerata kepatuhan pretest sebesat 0,359± 0,108,post-test 1 sebesar 0,362±0,363, post-test 2 0,365±0,368. Hasil analisis statistik beda rerata antara kelompok perlakuan dan pembanding menunjukkan peningkatan yang bermakna (p<0.05). Beda rerata peningkatan kelompok perlakuan dari pretest ke post-test 2 pengetahuan dari 0,047 menjadi 0,364, keterampilan dari 0,103 menjadi 0,427 dan kepatuhan dari 0,091 menjadi -0,085Kesimpulan: Dengan pelatihan standar pemantauan pertumbuhan balita, pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kepatuhan kader meningkat secara bermakna dibandingkan hanya diberikan modul.KATA KUNCI: pelatihan, kader posyandu, standar pertumbuhan balita
