Mulya Sari village in Banyuasin Regency is a sub-optimum tidal land with sulfuric acid characteristics which utilize irrigation canal to provide water used in household, fishing, and agriculture. Information on the diversity of aquatic vegetation in the Mulya Sari village is still not much. The purpose of this research to identified and analyzed the diversity aquatic vegetation in the irrigation canal of Mulya Sari village. The method used in this research is purposive sampling method. Aquatic vegetation data are collected trough direct study and using the square of the wooden frame size of 1 m x 1 m (transect methode), then observation are made for identification. Environmental condition in the irrigation canal is still good, with the environmental parameters in the form of Temperature, DO, BOD, TSS, TDS and pH still meet environmental quality standard. The irrigation canal in Mulyasari village was found 7 species of aquatic vegetation belonging to 3 class of Liliopsida, 3 class Monocotyledoneae, and 1 class of Dicotyledoneae, with the value of diversity index between 0,57 – 1,53 and low diversity. Corellation Pearson between water quality and sediment characters of diversity has shown Temperature, DO, BOD, TDS and pH have corellation to diversity.

Mulya sari village of Banyuasin regency is the one of sub-optimal area with tidal swamp land and characteristic sulfit acid. Its have an impact on paddy fields stagnancy, and brought environment problems. The presence of aquatic vegetation abundant and diversified in irrigation canals can be waste water reduction. The purpose of this research is to know diversity of aquatic vegetation on irrigation canals of Mulya Sari Vil-lage. Methode that used in this research is survey methode with purposive sampling. Observation and mea-surement data capture done in may 2016. From the research found as many as 7 species type of vegetation aquatic from 3 types class. First class from Liliopsida as many as 3 type, second class from Monocotyledonae as many as 3 type, and third class from Dicotiledonae just 1 type. Structure of vegetation diversity is very low classified with value about 0,57 – 1,57. The results of studies also show that water quality and sediment charac-ter of the irrigation canals. According to goverment regulation No. 82 in the year 2001 that compatible with natural characteristic, water quality include not polluted until heavy polluted. The results of structure soil frac-tion research, the dominant diversity is silt soil fraction.

The objectives of this study were to find out whether or not the students’ reading habit and students’ reading strategy correlated significantly with their reading comprehension and to find out whether or not students’ reading strategy correlated significantly with their reading comprehension. The method of this research used quantitative method in correlation research. The sample of the study was seventeen of third semester students of English Education Study Program of Tridinanti University Palembang. The data were collected by administering reading test and gives two questionnaires; reading habit questionnaires and reading strategy questionnaires. The data were analyzed by using descriptive and correlational analyses. There were two results found: First, the students’ reading  habit had no significant correlation with their reading comprehension. It was found that correlation coeficient  level between reading habit and reading comprehension was (-0.099) with the sig. value was higher than 0.05 (0.705). Second, the correlation coeficient level between students’ reading strategy and reading comprehension was not correlated (-0.451) with the  sig. value higher than 0.05 (0.069).Keywords:  reading habit, reading strategy, reading comprehension.
