Abstract

Penelitian tentang aspek biologi lobster pasir (Panulirus homarus) di perairan Tabanan dilakukan pada periode Maret - Desember 2013. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aspek biologi lobster pasir meliputi nisbah kelamin, sebaran panjang, kematangan kelamin, hubungan panjang berat dan faktor kondisi. Pengamatan dan pengukuran aspek biologi dilakukan di tempat pengumpul lobster dengan sistem sampling acak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nisbah kelamin lobster pasir berada pada keadaan seimbang. Hasil tangkapan lobster didominasi oleh lobster berusia muda dengan panjang karapas antara 47,5-52,5 mm. Pemijahan terjadi sepanjang tahun dan puncak musim pemijahan lobster pasir diduga terjadi pada bulan Oktober. Persamaan hubungan panjang dan berat lobster jantan adalah W = 0,0021 L2,769 dan betina adalah W= 0,0016 L2,841. Sifat pertumbuhan lobster pasir adalah allometrik negatif. Faktor kondisi relatif rendah pada saat musim pemijahan dan semakin menurun seiring dengan bertambah panjangnya ukuran karapas lobster. Rata-rata ukuran lobster yang tertangkap lebih kecil dari ukuran matang kelamin. Oleh karena itu disarankan untuk menetapkan ukuran minimum yang boleh ditangkap yaitu diatas 68,52 mm.

Abstract

Udang windu (Penaeus semisulcatus de Haan, 1844) di perairan Kalimantan Timur saat ini diduga berada dalam tahapan lebih tangkap, sehingga kajian dinamika populasi udang windu di perairan Balikpapan merupakan informasi yang penting untuk dilakukan.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dinamika populasi dan tingkat pemanfaatan udang windu sebagai dasar dalam pengelolaan perikanan udang di Balikpapan.Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Februari – November 2016.Metode yang digunakan adalah random sampling dengan analisis menggunakan model analitik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ukuran panjang karapas asimptotik (CL∞) udang jantan sebesar 47,5 mmCL dengan laju pertumbuhan (K) 1,72 per tahun dan panjang karapas asimptotik (CL∞) udang betina 53,7 mmCL dengan laju pertumbuhan (K) 1,53 per tahun. Ukuran rata-rata pertama kali tertangkap udang (Lc) sebesar 31,5 mmCL lebih kecil dibandingkan ukuran rata-rata pertama kali matang gonad (Lm) sebesar 39,63 mmCL, menunjukkan sebagian besar udang tertangkap sebelum memijah. Tingkat pemanfaatan udang windu berada pada tahap lebih tangkap (overfishing) dengan nilai laju pengusahaan (E) sebesar 0,65 pada jantan dan 0,77 pada betina, sehingga disarankan untuk melakukan pengurangan upaya penangkapan sebesar 42% dan pengaturan jaring dengan ukuran tertangkap lebih besar dari 39 mmCL.The green tiger prawn (Penaeus semisulcatus de Haan, 1844) in Kalimantan Timur were estimated in stages of overfishing, so dynamic population of green tiger prawn was important information needed to do. Aim of this research were to study about dynamic population and exploitation rate of green tiger prawn as basis management  for shrimp fisheries in Balikpapan. This research conducted  on February – November 2016. The method used was random sampling and the analysis used was analytical model. The results showed that carapace asymptotic length (CL∞) of male green tiger prawn was 47,5 mmCL and the growth rate was 1,72 year-1. Carapace asymptotic length (CL∞) of female prawn was 53,7 mmCL and the growth rate was 1,53 year-1. Length at first captured was 31,5 mmCL, smaller than length at first matured that was 39,63 mmCL so most of shrimps captured hadn’t spawned yet. Exploitation rate of the green tiger prawn was on stage of overfishing with the value of exploitation rate was 0,65 for male and 0,77 for female, so it was suggested to reduce fishing effort by 42% and mesh size regulation with the size allowable catch was bigger than 39 mmCL.

Abstract

Tuna fish are highly migratory species. Clarifying their stock structures and migration patterns is important for tuna fisheries management. The purpose of this research was to examine the parasites of bigeye tuna (Thunnus obesus) and yellowfin tuna (Thunnus albacares) to determine which parasites may be potential stock markers for assessment of tuna migration patterns. Bigeye tuna and yellowfin tuna were collected (measured between 28-48 cm fork length) from 9 sites across Indonesia and from 2 ‘outlier sites’ (The Maldives and Solomon Islands). Organs including gills (filaments and branchial arches), stomach wall, liver, pyloric caeca, and intestines were examined. Seven types of didymozoids were distinguished including 3 Didymosulcus spp., 4 Kollikeria spp. and one acanthocephalan (Bolbosoma sp.). The results suggest these fish parasites are potentially useful markers for assessment of tuna migration pattern, contributing information needed for fisheries management in Indonesia.

Abstract

Kendari Bay waters consitute a potential blue swimming crab (BSC) fishing ground in WPP NRI 714 (the Banda Sea). The intensive fishing activities have been increasing from year to year that raised concern to the fishing that will disturb resource sustainability. Therefore, an alternative sustainable management is advisable. The purpose of this research was to examine the population dynamics and exploitation rate of BSC in the Kendari Bay waters conducted between January and November 2016. The results show the isometric of BSC growth pattern and balance of male and female ratio. The length at first capture (Lc) of BSC was 116.65 mm (carapace width),smaller than the length at first maturity (Lm) at 119.7 mm (carapace width). The von Bertalanffy growth equation for the blue swimming crab was L(t) = 182.0[1-e-0.91 (t - 0)] and the fishing mortality rate (F) was higher than the natural mortality rate (M). The blue swimming crab exploitation rate calculated BSC from Kendari Bay has exceeded the optimum rate of 0.73 per year and is indicating a category “overfishing”. Therefore, to maintain the BSC stock sustainability, a management measure is needed to reduce the current fishing effort of approximately 46 % from the current effort and regulation of net mesh size.

Abstract

Parameter populasi udang dogol (Metapenaeus ensis) di Selat Bangka merupakan informasi penting sebagai bahan masukan dalam opsi kebijakan pengelolaan perikanan udang yang berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji parameter populasi dan tingkat pemanfaatan udang dogol di perairan Selat Bangka berdasarkan pada data biologi (struktur ukuran, jenis kelamin dan tingkat kematangan gonad). Pengumpulan data biologi dilakukan selama bulan Februari – November 2014 di Pusat Pendaratan Ikan Banyuasin. Pendugaan parameter populasi dilakukan dengan bantuan program FiSAT II, hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata udang dogol yang tertangkap belum melakukan pemijahan (Lc<Lm). Puncak pemijahan udang diduga terjadi pada bulan Juli. Panjang karapas asimtotik (CL∞) udang dogol jantan sebesar 45,0 mm dan betina sebesar 49,5 mm. Laju pertumbuhan (K) udang dogol jantan sebesar 1,40 per tahun dan betina sebesar 1,45 per tahun. Laju mortalitas total (Z) udang dogol jantan sebesar 4,56 per tahun, laju kematian alamiahnya (M) sebesar 2,02 per tahun dan laju kematian karena penangkapan (F) sebesar 2,54 per tahun. Laju mortalitas total (Z) udang dogol betina sebesar 3,98 per tahun, laju kematian alamiahnya (M) sebesar 2,01 per tahun dan laju kematian karena penangkapan (F) sebesar 1,97 per tahun. Laju eksploitasi udang dogol (E) di Selat Bangka yaitu 0,56 pada jantan dan 0,49 pada betina. Hal tersebut menunjukkan udang dogol jantan di Selat Bangka telah dimanfaatkan secara penuh (fully exploited) dan perlu kewaspadaan dalam pemanfaatannya. Pengaturan mata jaring, jumlah armada dan pengaturan musim penangkapan perlu dilakukan agar pemanfaatan perikanan udang dapat berkelanjutan.The estimation of the parameter population of greasyback shrimp (Metapenaeus ensis) in Bangka Strait was an important information as a fisheries management policy for sustainable shrimp fisheries. The aims of this research was to assess population parameters and exploitation rate of greasyback shrimp in Bangka Strait based on biological data (size distribution, sex ratio and gonad maturity). Biological data collected from February – November 2014 at landing base in Banyuasin. The Method to estimate population dynamic was analyzed by using FiSAT II, the results showed that the average of greasyback shrimp that was captured had not spawned yet (Lc<Lm). The spawning season occurred in July. Carapace asymptotic length (CL∞) of male shrimp was 45,0 mm and the female was 49,5 mm. The growth parameter of greasyback shrimp was 1,40/year for male and 1,45/year for female. Total mortality rate (Z), natural mortality rate (M) and fishing mortality rate (F) for male shrimp were 4,82/year, 2,06/year and 2,76/year. Total mortality rate (Z), natural mortality rate (M) and fishing mortality rate (F) for female shrimp were 3,98/year, 2,01/year and 1,97/year. Exploitation rate of greasyback shrimp in Bangka Strait were 0,57 for male and 0,49 for female. The exploitation of male greasyback shrimp was fully exploited so that it needed careful regulation. Therefore, the regulation about mesh size, amount of fishing fleet, periodicity of fishing were needed for sustainable shrimp fisheries.
