Abstract

Nurse is one of the professions responsible for improving peoples living standards, especially in the field of health. In carrying out the roles and responsibilities, the nurse is in the patients environment for 24 hours and is faced with various characters, complaints, different responses that require. Nurses are expected to be able to be caring to provide peace to the patient in his illness. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of caring behavior of nurses perceived by nurses, patients and society when delivering nursing care at Bandung. The type of this research is quantitative descriptive research. By using accidental sampling, obtained, 95 nurses, 77 patients and 98 people general public around the faculty of Unpad nursing. Data were collected using Caring Behavior Inventory (CBI) instrument and analyzed using descriptive statistics and poured in tables, percentages and narratives. The results showed that nurse and patient perceptions related to caring nurse behavior in implementing nursing care were mostly good (56.8% and 50.8%), and public perception related to caring behavior of nurses was mostly (57.2%). It can be concluded that the perception of caring behavior of nurses in general has a different picture between nurses, patients and society in general. There needs to be an effort to improve and improve caring behavior of nurses who value directly by patients and the general public.

Abstract

Beragamnya latarbelakang klien yang menjalani perawatan di rumah sakit menjadi salah satu alasan dimana seorang perawat wajib memiliki kemampuan dalam melakukan asuhan keperawatan dengan memperhatikan aspek budaya. Proses pembelajaran tentang keperawatan peka budaya pada tingkat akademik pendidikan keperawatan sudah diberikan pada semester satu, dan pelaksanaan pendidikan profesi ners berlangsung pada semester sembilan, maka perlu diidentifikasi lebih lanjut terkait kemampuan mahasiswa dalam malakukan asuhan keperawatan peka budaya sehingga dapat memberikan palayanan yang maksimal kepada pasien dan mencegah cultural shock pada mahasiswa. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi gambaran pengetahuan tentang cultural competence pada mahasiswa program profesi Ners.Rancangan penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif yang dilakukan pada mahasiswa program profesi Ners di Bandung. Menggunakan teknik total sampling didapatkan 266 mahasiswa dalam 3 angkatan pendidikan profesi Ners. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner pengetahuan yang dikembangkan oleh team trusculturan nusing depertemen keperawatan dasar. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis distribusi frekuensi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebagian besar responden memiliki pengetahuan kurang yaitu sebanyak 204 (76,69%). Pengetahuan tentang cultural competency mahasiswa program profesi Ners perlu ditingkatkan, oleh sebab itu diharapkan adanya intergrasi yang berkesinambungan antara learning outcome dan topik cultural competence pada setiap mata kuliah keperawatan yang didapatkan mahasiswa selama program pendidikan sarjana.

Abstract

Case management is an intervention strategy used by health care providers and systems to support clients, coordinate health services, and facilitate results in both price and quality. In this model of care, the case manager plays an important role in ensuring that the case management service flow is well implemented. This study aims to see how the role of case managers in carrying out their functions such as utility assessment, planning, facilitation and advocacy, service coordination, evaluation, and post-discharge follow-up. The research method used is the mixed method sequential exploratory design. This method explores the work experience of a case manager in the field, then composes a measuring instrument, and then seeks to quantify the role and function of the case manager. The population in this study was the case managers in the Kemuning and Fresia Building at Dr. Hasan Sadikin General Hospital Bandung amounting to 36 people. The research sample was divided into two, in the qualitative stage the number of participants as many as 5 people was determined by purposive sampling technique, and the quantitative stage used a total sampling of 36 people. The results showed that the qualitative analysis of the assessment function identified indicators of ability to collect data, analysis, and stratification of patients; in the planning function the ability to determine goals, take joint decisions and identify problems were identified; in the facilitation function and advocacy, the ability to be identified as an educator, protector of patient rights and solution provider were identified; in the service coordination function, the ability for team communication and communication between lines were identified; in the evaluation function the ability to evaluate patients and self-evaluation were identified; and in the post-discharge follow-up function the ability related to continuity of service was identified. In the implementation, the case manager carries out those functions, 4 functions are still carried out improperly by most respondents such as the joint decision making, team communication, patient evaluation, and self-evaluation.
