Abstract

All of the literature studies are related to the activity of interpretation. One of literature types that can be interpreted is poetry. To interpret a poem can involve the role of heuristics and hermeneutics concept. This study used several poems contained in the book of poetry Deru Campur Debu by Chairil Anwar. The problems of this study, namely 1) How do heuristic and hermeneutic reading on the poem of Chairil Anwar, and 2) What are the meaning of language and literature contained in the poem of Chairil Anwar. Heuristic and hermeneutic readings are the method to analyze literary works by using semiotic approach. Semiotics is a term that refers to the same thing that is the sign science. The relationship between signifier and signified included, icons, indices, and symbols. The results of this study are as follows: 1. In the sixth poems of Chairil Anwar always brings the themes of freedom, rebellion and adventure that are the expression of Chairils characteristic himself. 2. The unpleasant experience of dating with Hayati made him upset and dreaming of a lover who was very different from Hayati. therefore, Chairil express it with harsh words to describe the regret

Abstract

This research is a qualitative descriptive research that aims to describe item UAS students class IX SMPN 7 Palembang viewed from the level of difficulty questions, distinguishing power, and test the validity of the item. Data in the form of student values taken from the answer sheet UAS Indonesian Class IX lesson SMPN 7 Palembang. The results obtained, that is based on the level of difficulty there are 35 questions entered in the category of easy, 11 questions entered in the category of moderate, and 4 problems entered in the difficult category. Based on the differentiation of the problem, there are 0 problems that fall into the category of good, 9 questions that fall into the category is good enough, 41 problems that fall in the bad category with the percentage of the power of differentiation of the problem, falling into the category less good, because 82% of the difference power index entry in good enough criteria. Based on the criteria of question validity, the results indicate that there is 1 question included in the category of validity there are 29 problems that fall into the category of unvalidity.

Abstract

The analysis uses SPSS Version 22 and Anates program version 4. Results study, (1)  quality of multiple choice questions is very difficult with 12 questions, difficult to number 25 items, the number is 6, and easy to 7. There are 3 questions, and 2 items are easy, (2) the quality of multiple choice questions is based on the distinguishing power, there are 32 items, the questions have enough differentiating power of 16 points, and items that have a negative differentiation are 2 questions; the description of the distinguishing power is quite 3 questions, and discriminating power is 2 questions, (3) quality of multiple choice questions is based on validity; valid 31 questions, 19 invalid questions. The description problem, classified as valid 5 questions, (4) quality of multiple choice questions based on reliability, has a high reliability coefficient of 0.898, while the problem of unreliable descriptions with a coefficient of 0.093

Abstract

Study has objectives, (1) describe the mistakes in the language in the field of syntax in the essay writing of foreign students in the regular class, and (2) describe the analysis of the mistakes in the language in the field of syntax in the essay writing of foreign students in the regular class in Bina Darma University. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. Sources of data in this study iswriting of foreign students in the regular class in UBD. The data is a form of language errors in the essay writting. Analyzed using a unified method and agih. Results can be divided into nine aspects, there are (1) sentence structure not standard, (2) sentence is ambiguous, (3) sentence is unclear, (4) diction is not appropriate in forming sentences, (5) contamination sentence, (6) coherence, (7) word redundant, (8) the word uptake used in a sentence, and (9) logic sentence.
