Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan untuk mengetahui bentuk dan makna disfemisme dan eufemisme dalam teks berita sepak bola di televisi Nasional. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif karena objek kajiannya berupa pengamatan pada manusia. Pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dalam penelitian ini adalah suatu prosedur penelitian dengan hasil sajian data deskriptif berupa tuturan wartawan dalam menampilkan hasil laporannya di lapangan dan fenomena kebahasaan yang turut mempengaruhi penggunaan bahasa wartawan dalam memaparkannya pada berita sepak bola di televisi. Sumber data penelitian adalah berupa kata dan frasa dalam teks berita sepak bola di televisi Nasional. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode simak dan teknik dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini ditemukan bentuk dan makna disfemisme dan eufemisme dalam teks berita sepak bola dalam berita olahraga di televisi Nasional. Disfemisme dan eufemisme ditemukan dalam bentuk kata dasar, kata berimbuhan dan frasa. Makna disfemisme dan eufemisme yang ditemukan dapat diketahui dengan cara menghubungbandingkan sinonim dari masing-masing makna kata berdasarkan Tesaurus Alfabetis Bahasa Indonesia (TABI) dengan cara menghubungbandingkan makna dari masing-masing kata berdasarkan Tesaurus Alfabetis Bahasa Indonesia (TABI) dapat diketahui kata yang mengalami pengasaran maupun peenghalusan makna.   Kata Kunci : disfemisme, eufemisme, teks berita, dan televisi Nasional

Abstract

Several errors in spelling and grammar were found in the students' writing on Indonesian language courses. The errors affect the quality of students' academic works. Based on the findings, this study was aimed at (1) describing the forms of misapplication of Indonesian rules and writing in the students’ writing, and (2) defining the aspects behind the application of Indonesian rules and writing in the students’ writing. The approach used in this research is descriptive qualitative. This research was carried out in data collection, data classification, data analysis, and informal data analysis presentation. There are two results in this study. First, language errors were found at three levels, namely errors in aspects of letter writing, elements of paper and use of words, and writing sentences. Second, there are some factors behind this error, both internally and externally.

Abstract

Oath is an official statement or a word used to prove the truth, and someone who takes an oath can make a curse for himself if it violates the pledge. But, in its use in the present era, the word oath no longer shows its sacredness but also indicates its use as slang in affirming something among young people. This research is focused on shifting the meaning of the word oath. This research is qualitative—research data in the form of sentences that contain the word oath. The data was obtained from social media, Twitter, and Facebook. Data collection methods used in the form of refer to the method of note-taking. Data analysis methods used in the form of a method of distribution with substitution techniques or dressing techniques. From this research, the result is that the word oath has a shift in meaning, expanding, or generalizing. The word oath, which was originally used as a sacred word, in the millennial era, is used as a word to convince others and express feelings.

Abstract

This study aims to study whether there was interest interested in learning explanatory text writing students. This type of research is quantitative with a 2x2 factorial design. Students are grouped into two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The experimental class in this study was in class XI IPA 1, while the control class was in XI IPA 3. The instruments used to collect data were reading interest questionnaires and performance tests for explanatory text writing skills. The results of this study are the following two things. First, explanatory text writing skills of students who have high reading interest in the experimental class are better than students who have high reading interest in the control class. Second, explanatory text writing skills of students who have low reading interest in the experimental class are better than students who have low reading interest in the control class.

Abstract

Membaca adalah proses berfikir, karena aspek utamanya adalah memahami makna dari bacaan. Bagian paling penting dari makna adalah ide, konsep, pola pikiran, gambaran, dan perkataan. Makna tidak hanya muncul dari kumpulan kata tetapi dari tautan makna dari setiap kata didalam sebuah konteks di pikiran pembaca. Teks bacaan disebut pasif karena pembacalah yang harus aktif menemukan makna dari sebuah teks bacaan. Pembaca harus dapat memahami sebuah pesan didalam teks berdasarkan unsur-unsur semantiknya. Salah satunya adalah kohesi. Kohesi dapat digunakan untuk mengetahui apakah sebuah teks bacaan tersebut bermakna atau tidak. Sebuah teks bacaan dikatakan baik jika ditulis dengan kohesif sehingga terbentuk jalinan makna yang tidak lepas dari konteks teks tersebut. Kohesi dapat memudahkan siswa dalam memahami sebuah bacaan karena siswa dapat mengetahui jalinan makna bagaimana kalimat ataupun paragraph terhubung didalam sebuah konteks.Key words: cohesion, reading text

Abstract

The purpose of speaking learning in school is not only to make students proficient spoke well for many purposes, but also to trigger students creativity in terms of determining the source of idea and develop ideas. It is also can make students as a good ethics speaker. For the honorable purposes, variety obstacles that come from inside and outside student, often inhibits, one of which is the lack of the students opportunity to practice and perform. The teacher as director, adviser, facility providers and motivator needs to determine the best efforts for the settlement of various constraints. One of which is choose the most appropriate learning strategies. The strategy chosen have to be adapted to implementation procedure of Learning Speaking, so the chosen strategy can be right on target and obtain maximum results.Keyword: teacher, learning, talking

Abstract

AbstractThe phatic communion is the standardized ritual repertoire in Indonesia culture, particularly in Javanese socioculture. The speech is a form of clichés which can be spoken by any Javanese speakers to the situation to start a conversation. The purposes of this research are to identify (1) the markers of phatic communion in colloquial Javanese language, (2) the types of phatic communion in colloquial Javanese language, (3) communicative functions of phatic communion (metalinguitics politeness) as the politeness markers in spoken language. In this study, I used pragmatic approach by analysing the language functions in which they are expressed in the form of speech acts. The data were colloquial Javanese language which had phatic communion. The subject of the study were standard Javanese speakers, Banyumas Javanese speakers, and East Java Javanese speakers. The data were collected by recording technique and note-taking technique. The data were analyzed by using Creswell’s steps. In this study, there were six categories of the phatic communion in colloquial Javanese language. They were congratulation, hope, humiliation, invitation, prohibition, and farewell. In their construction, the speakers used the phatic marker as the modifier and the markers of speech purposes. Abstract

This study discusses presupposition and implikature in Abdur’s Stand-up Comedy Indonesia (SUCI) Session 4 Kompas TV. SUCI uses Indonesian language as the main material of the jokes. The jokes in SUCI come from everyday life of the comics. The jokes in SUCI have some massages. It uses pragmatics analysis approach to answer the questions about (1) presupposition and (2) implicature of SUCI 4. The data are oral forms of Kompas TV’s SUCI 4 shows. The data are obtained by the observation method and by taking notes technique. The data analysis uses pragmatics equal methods. The theories used are the theory of background knowledge, presuppotition, and implicature. The analysis shows that first, Comica’s presupposition about the east of Indonesia are geographycal, society, food, technology, and pulic building condition. Secondly, implicature of Abdur stand up comedy are admit a shortage, found out attention, and critics about government role. Keywords: presupposition, implicature, Indonesian stand up comedy.

Abstract

Cerpen merupakan salah satu jenis karya sastra kreatif. Sebagi karya sastra kreatif, cerpen  mengungkapkan hidup dan kehidupan manusia yang  dikemas secara imajiner dan menggunakan bahasa yang indah. Peristiwa hidup dan kehidupan manusia yang ada dalam cerpen diungkapkan oleh tokoh. Keberadaan tokoh dalam sebuah cerpen sangatlah penting. Aneka peristiwa kehidupan yang terjadi pada tokoh dan atau antartokoh dapat diketahui melalui tindak tutur tokoh. Jalan cerita, jalinan cerita, peristiwa dalam cerita diketahui dan dinikmati oleh pembaca dari tindak tutur tokoh. Aneka macam tindak tutur tokoh yang ada dalam cerpen menunjukkan aneka peristiwa yang terjadi dalam cerpen. Salah satu daya pikat atau daya tarik cerpen adalah dari tindak tutur tokoh. Abstract

Teaching writing based on gender discourse is designed to make the creative writing process is free from discriminating, strereotyping, and marginalizing aspects, which later has negative effects for particular gender. In reality, this process focuses on the teachers’ effort in reconstructing teaching writing based on the conferencing approach. This approach is based on the guided writing process between peers and between students and teachers. This creative writing process is interfered by gender discourse. In this class, the system is affected by characters and shaped by the writer’s character in giving his/her perspectives about male-female roles so there will be no marginalized, discriminated, and labelled groups. This study uses quasi experimental research design. This study aims at finding out the model teaching writing which based on gender discourse and conferencing approach. The procedure of this studi is based on the R2D2 model which has three steps: (1) defining, (2) planning and developing, (3) and disseminating. The data of this study cover qualitative and quantitative data. The qualitative data are analyzed by using domain analysis technique with critical and reflective principles, while the quantitative data are analyzed by statistic analysis techniques with t-test. This study results teaching writing model which based on gender discourse and conferencing approach, such as (1) syllabus, (2) lesson plan, (3) learning materials/text book, (4) evaluation instruments, (5) teaching writing guide. This covers model teaching writing for (a) exposition text, (b) narrative text, and argumentative text. Based on the data analysis, the three models of teaching writing are effective and improve the PBSI (Department of Indonesian Education and Literature) Students’ writing skills at Tidar University.Keywords: conferencing approach, teaching writing, writing model
