Abstract

This study aimed to determine the root of the problem of low quality and image of SDN 02 and 04 Ungaran and also to define the strategie to improve the quality and to build the image of SDN 02 and 04 Ungaran. This qualitative descriptive study used fishbone analysis and data collection used Focus Group Discussion (FGD), interviews, and study of document. The results showed that the root problem of low quality of SDN 02 and 04 Ungaran were learnershad low ability, teachers provided less motivation of learning, the willingness of teachers to improve teaching skills were low, teachers were elderly, teachers did not plan learning activities by themselves, school principle had never participated in managerial training, non standard size of classrooms and the library had not been adequate. The root of the problem why the image of SDN Ungaran 02 and 04 were not good enough namely: the lack of academic supervition and extracurricular competent. Strategies to improve the quality and to build image of SDN 02 and 04 Ungaran were : a)implementing ongoing supervision by principle to raise teachers motivation, b)proposing for aid to the authorities both for the rehabilitation of classrooms and procurement of books, c) involving school committee in order to improve the school environment, and d) forming school developer team in academic achievement and extracurricular activities.

Abstract

This research is aimed to evaluate acceleration program in SMP Negeri 6 Ambon which is include four components such as: (1)Context (2)Input (3) Process, and (4)Product. This is an evaluative research using descriptive analysis. This research informants are principals, viceprincipals, program coordinators, teachers, school committees, parents, and students accelerated program. Research sites in SMP Negeri 6 Ambon. The data is collected using interview, observation and documentation study techniques. For the data validation, this research used triangulation of sources and techniques. The results shows that, from context, the implementation of the acceleration program is a school’s initiative as an effort to address the needs and provide the education services for special smart learners (IQ  130) as well as the effectiveness of school facilities and infrastructure utilization. From the point of input including: (a) the program policy, the school has permission from the department as the juridical basis for accelerated program implementation, and (b) planning program: recruitment of learners are in accordance with the criteria, curriculum acceleration program already differentiated, educators (teachers) already meets the qualifications and criteria as teacher in class acceleration, infrastructure and financing program is sufficient to support the accelerated program. In terms of Process, acceleration program in SMP Negeri 6 Ambon has been implemented in accordance with the planning program, although there are still some shortcomings and obstacles. Recruitment of learners already implemented, curriculum adjustments will only be visible on the implementation of the teaching and learning activities, educators (teachers) are still there who do not meet the qualifications and criteria as a teacher in class acceleration, infrastructure is not sufficient to support an accelerated program of activities, and financing programs that is still lacking. The implementation of the teaching and learning process in an accelerated program carried out on a daily basis according to the effective education calendar prepared by the school. The obstacles in the implementation of the accelerated program associated with government policy on the closure of the accelerated program. Product of the implementation of an accelerated program at SMP Negeri 6 Ambon that learners can complete their education exactly two years, passed 100%, and is accepted in favorite high school, both public and private. Thus, the implementation of accelerated program at SMP Negeri 6 Ambon should be continued but with improvements. For the further service, the school is suggested to improve the service toward accelerated program learners with providing the needs related to the implementation of the program, and for the education department, related to the monitoring, supervision, and evaluation toward the implementation of accelerated program, especially in SMP Negeri 6 Ambon.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve teachers competence at SMP Negeri 1 and 2 Ampel in composing classroom action research (CAR) proposals through participatory training model with intensive assistance. This school action research was conducted with the strategy of the cycles starting from problem identification,planning, action, observation, and reflection. Based on the problem identification, teachers had difficulty in composing classroom action research proposal. Action undertaken to overcome the problem in cycle 1 was applying participatory training model with intensive assistance classically and in cycle 2 was applying participatory training model with intensive mentoring individually. Data collection techniques used observation, interview and evaluation. Data analysis used comparative descriptive analysis. The results showed that there was an increasing of teachers’ competence in preparing classroom actionresearch proposal from cycle 1 to cycle 2. In cycle 1, assessment against the six classroom action research proposals presented by teachers started from the background, formulation of the problem, research objectives, the benefits of research, theoretical study, frame of mind, hypothesis, research methods,research schedule, and bibliography, each rated with good (3), sufficient (2), and less (1)criteria. In cycle 2, the assessment of the six proposals presented by teachers was all rated by good criteria. Observation towards the training process showed that the teachers had seriousness, willingness, and high reactivity to develop classroom action research proposals. The active participation of teachers in the process of intensive training and mentoring both in classical and individuals supported the success of this school action research that the teachers could prepare classroom action research proposals with good criteria.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop competitive strategy planning in increasing number of new students in one of private schools in Salatiga. The Design of the study is research & development, but it is limited to the product design stage alone that produce schools competitive strategy planning in increasing the number of new students. Research instruments for gathering data are observation, interviews, FGD and study documents. Data Analysis used SWOT analysis to analyze the internal and external factors such as the schools strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in determining the appropriate competitive strategies for schools. The result of SWOT analysis indicated that the school is in quadrant position SO (Strength Opportunity), which supports an aggressive strategy by using the power of the internal environment of the school to seize the opportunities from external environment. Competitive strategy planning of the school which suggested is differentiation strategy namely: making program "community service" in the form of "students service community", building cooperation and trust with the two primary schools under the same foundation, forming clubs academic achievement and non-academic, maximizing learning extracurricular through the program of "students exhibition" that can also be a program of "open house" of the school, maximizing the potential of teachers through seminars, training or workshops, maximizing the facility orphanage, making a jointly program of "parents & students fun day", socializing to public and private schools, churches and Christian communities regularly.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a competitive strategy development model based on the new 7Ss in Satya Wacana Christian High School (SMA Lab) Salatiga. Tthis study is research and development, where the study was performed only at the fifth stage, the potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, and revision of the design. This research was conducted in Satya Wacana Christian High School (SMA Lab) Salatiga. Interviews were conducted with principal, vice principals curriculum, student section, public relations, teachers, administration of the employees, students and parents to know the framework of the new strategy 7-Ss on Satya Wacana Christian High School. While study documentation was conducted to determine the profile of the school, student profile, the work program of principals, vice-principals work program of curriculum, student affairs, and public relations. After the data collected, then the data was reduced, summarized, categorized, synthesized and presented in narrative form and tables. Model-based development of competitive strategy the new 7-Ss on Satya Wacana Christian High School consists of four rare developments, the formation of the team, defining the vision and mission, the analysis of the new 7-Ss, and strategy development. Formulation of a strategy based on the analysis of the new 7-Ss on Satya Wacana Christian High School consisted of three frameworks, namely Superior Stakeholder Satisfaction which includes the satisfaction of customers and workers, positioning program, and strategic cooperative.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to: (1) Determine and analyze the boarding management strategies that have been used by STT Sangkakala; (2) to analyze the root problems in the management of a boarding high school in STT Sangkakala; (3) Design and produce strategies that can be implemented by STT Sangkakala in the management of a boarding high school. Design of this research is the development, but in this study is limited to the fifth stage, namely the revision of product design, where the product that produced a strategic plan for the management of the boarding college at STT Sangkakala Kopeng. Data analysis technique used fishbone anlysis. Data collection techniques used observation, interview, document studies, and FGD. Meanwhile, data validation was done by using tianggulasi source. The results of this analysis, a strategy that is based on the analysis fishbone, includes four factors: (1) curriculum management strategies and coaching; (2) management strategies of learners; (3)management strategies educators; and (4) strategies in the policy leader. Furthermore, the foundations, the chairman (rector), lecturers and other staff are expected to optimize the implementation of the strategic plan that has been prepared.

Abstract

This research development aimed to develop an education and training model for sociology teachers about inquiry discovery learning aided CD interactive. The steps taken were recognized the potential and problems, formulating design, construct an education and training model and the toolkits, experts test and product revison. Data collection used interview and study of document. The results of this research development indicated that the planning which was done before the education and training begun was to determine the training needs by analyzing the needs of the organization, set the goal of training, composed training programs; composed preliminary and final assessment tools, composed the criteria for successful training. The implementation of education and training development model of high school teachers about learning sociology with inquiry discovery learning aided interactive CD emphasized on training to compose lesson plans and to make CD interactive learning. Monitoring and evaluation for quality assessment needed to be done by the trainees by filling the questionnaire so that the responds toward the accomplishment of training and interviewees could be known. Whereas the evaluation of the traineescould be done through tests and assignments given about making lesson plans and CD interactive learning.

Abstract

This research aimed to describe (1) Implementation of principal supervision at Tunas Gloria Elementary School, Kupang; (2) Problems in the implementation of principal supervision at Tunas Gloria Elementary School, Kupang; and (3) Creating of the academic supervision models of pedagogic competence guidance mentoring technique for homeroom teacher. This research is R & D (Research and Development) by following steps of development according to Sugiono (2009). Questionnaires, interviews and documentation studies were used as data collection techniques. Delphie technique was used as model validation. Results of research showed that (1) Implementation of principal supervision hasnot been performed according to principles of supervision performance, (2) problems in the implementation of principal supervision i.e. a written planning has not been made; purposes of supervision has not been constructed according to the needs of teachers; guidance for supervision performance was still insufficient; time demand for principal; the performance of supervision was only adjusted to the supervision of supervisor; the comprehension from principalin performing of evaluation. The final result was in the form of academic supervision models of pedagogic competence guidance mentoring technique for homeroom teacher that consists of 4 stages–planning, performance, evaluation and follow-up.

Abstract

Inclusive education program (PI) is a product of the policies of the regional government held Education Department of Palangkaraya and must be implemented by all schools. The purpose of this study was to gather information for the evaluation of the implementation of programs in SD Negeri 6 Bukit Tunggal, SMP Negeri 3 and SMAN 4. The data was collected throughinterview and documentation study. Evaluation model used in this study is the CIPP. The subjects of this study were principal, regular teachers, and Guidance and Counceling Teachers of each school. The results of the evaluation context showed that the program has met the needs of PIs and parents of students with special needs; the population served were students with special needs and is still in the category of mild to moderate; as well as helpful programs sothat school the full confidence of the public and an opportunity to increase the number of crew members who served. The results of the evaluation input indicated that the special facilities were inadequate; school involving all stakeholders in the school and some from outside; financing comes from use of the funds, scholarships, and / or budget; and the school does not have Special Guidance Teacher (SGT). The results of the evaluation process showed that newEducation Department of Palangkaraya one to monitor and evaluate; teacher competence was good enough; learning in general but the treatment given on an individual basis, and extracurricular activities reserved for the crew; facilities not helpful enough; and the obstacles encountered was no SGT, facilities not adequate, specialized training has not been evenly distributed, no further monitoring of the relevant Department, and there is no standard for theevaluation system. The results of the product evaluation showed that the academic and non academic achievement of were students with special needs good enough. In addition, there were many number of crew members who served. The implication of this study is to provide recommendations for schools and related agencies for the improvement of the sustainability of the program.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the success of marketing strategies in SMA Sedes Sapientiae Jambu which is a high boarding school in Bedono, Semarang regency with its students coming from various cities in Indonesia, such as Palembang, Lampung, Jakarta, Bogor, Semarang , Yogyakarta, Bali, Makassar and Papua. The diversity of high school students Sedes Sapientiae Jambu is becausethe success of marketing management at SMA Sedes Sapientiae Jambu Bedono, where in the executing the marketing strategy there is a special team and they did not hesitate to invite an expert in the field of marketing to teach the promotion team to do marketing. In addition, many of the activities carried out in marketing schools such as by visiting junior high schools in various regionsof Java and Jakarta region and made a presentation as Sedes Sapientiae Jambu students as keynote speaker, did a choir at churches, did a tty out for the junior and open house in SMA Sedes Sapientiae Jambu, besides that, establishing relationships with alumni who are in various cities in Indonesia. Data collection techniques in this research through interviews, participatory observationand documentation, and data analysis performed continuously throughout the study. One of the keys of the succesful of marketing in SMA Sedes Sapientiae Jambu the activities that establish a good relationship with various secondary schools in various regions, relations with alumni, parents, committee and local residents. The evidenced of it by the increasing number of high school students in Sedes Sapientiae Jambu from year to year. In this paper the writer recommend ways of marketing carried out by SMA Sedes Sapientiae Jambu that can be applied in other schools to increase student numbers.
