Abstract

Library catalogs need to demonstrate availability of its collection, the library requires for bibliographic information from is collection. Users need a tool library  catalog for retrieval of library materials. Catalogue compile in to symstematic list of library materials with descriptive information about the author, title, publisher, date of publication, the physical form, charateristic of material and place.Library of UGM PUSPAR  a support unit GMU Center for Tourism Studies, as part of supporting the smooth operation of the field of torism research and assessment. His collection of book, journals, research, proceedings, lokakarya, and other scientific publications.This study aims to : 1. simplifying and uniting PUSPAR UGM library catalog, catalogs cards and catalogs electronic into one main database in Indonesian language; 2. know the exact profile of the collection; 3. knowing the number of documents with the appropriate classification; 4. provides a rang of collection neatly arranged according to the catalog; 5. without knowing the exact collection of catalogs; 6. know the exact physical condition of the documents / collection (broken, missing, incomplete, borrowed etc.)

Abstract

The research aims to examine the effectiveness of library user education activites for new students of Faculty of Social and Political Science (FISIPOL), Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta in 2010. This study is quantitative research. The population in this study is FISIPOL Gadjah Mada University freshman 2010/2011, with retrictions on the object educational activites at the library FISIPOL Gadjah Mada University in 2010 membering 651, and the sample taken is 65 students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the quality library services based implementation of Quality Management System ISO 9001:2008 . User satisfaction and student perceptions regarding the attributes of quality library services that include : tangible , reliability , responsiveness, assuredness , and empathy associated with user satisfaction .This study uses a quantitative approach . Type a descriptive quantitative research . Ex post facto data collection by survey method . Data collection using questionnaires as the primary method , documentary and observation . The study population was a student who came to visit and use the library facilities and using samples UGM proportional stratified random sampling technique.Analysis of the data using parametric statistics , such as regression analysis to test the hypothesis regreasi first and to find out how much of each attribute independent variables contribute effectively to the satisfaction of the user and the product moment correlation and ANOVA to test the hypothesis of a single lane to two . Results indicate that the implementation of quality management system ISO 9001 : 2008 can give satisfaction to the users at the Central Library , University of Gadjah Mada . It can be seen from the results of the users perception of the quality attributes of library services that include : tangible, reliability , responsiveness , and empathy assuredness related to user satisfaction at the Central Library of the University of Gadjah Mada . It can be seen from tangible attribute indicates the coefficient b = 0.104 and p = 0.022 , attribute indicates the reliability coefficient b = 0.126 and p = 0.009, attribute indicates the responsiveness coefficient b = 0.095 and p = 0.018, showing assuredness attribute coefficient b = 0.125 and p = 0.007, attribute shows empathy coefficient b = 0.193 with p = 0.001 . Positive effect is statistically significant means that the better the user perception of service quality attributes of the higher levels of user satisfaction and conversely the perception of poor quality of service attributes pemustaka on the lower level of user satisfaction in the Library of the University of Gadjah Mada . From the estimation above regression equation, the coefficient of multiple determination ( R2 ) of 0.539 that showed statistically that the role of the variable quality of service for users satisfaction at 53.9 % . Percentage of the remaining 46.1 % are other variables not examined in this study .

Abstract

Role and function of library unit of medical faculty of Gajah Mada university prepares instrument and support facilities for student of medical education, namely preparing many kinds of information sources in health and medical unit. To fulfill the information need for student, it prepares information sources in various formats, either in printed form or digital form. Printed format is by preparing books, scholarly paper, government published, and magazine. Meanwhile, digital format includes books, scholarly paper, articles, even subscribe database in health and medical unit. Preparing this digital book collection is relevan with student tendency of medical education program in using collection. So that, this research  will evaluate the utility of digital book collection by student of medical education of medical faculty of GajahMadaUniversity. The problem formulation is how the student of medical faculty of Gajah Mada university utilize the digital book collection. The purpose oh this research are: (1) knowing the utility of digital book collection by student of medical education of medical faculty of Gajah Mada University., (2) giving opinion to library unit of medical faculty of Gajah Mada University in taking policy to develop digital book collection,  (3) giving opinion to the organizer of medical education of medical faculty of Gajah Mada University about the utility of book collection. The method in this research is by using quantitative approach with 94 respondents of  medical education student. Based on result and discussion in this research , it is known that the evaluation of digital book collection utility can be categorized good, if the score average is 85,3975 %. Almost all of the indicators get category good., except interest indicator of user. Their category is sufficient because the question for respondents in minor question form. Meanwhile recommendation based on respondents suggestions of proposals are: (1) access of digital book collection can be done from home or beyond of medical faculty area ofGajahMadaUniversity, (2) update digital book collection always be done, (3) library unit of medical faculty ofGajahMadaUniversity intensively socializes to student about the utility of digital book collection.

Abstract

This study aimed to find out: User Satisfaction on the Quality of Service of The Library Faculty of  Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Gadjah Mada University Library. Data were collected by using questionnaires as the main method, documentation and interview as a complementary method. Population taken are all users MIPA UGM Faculty Library in April 2010. Samples taken as many as 100 respondents using incidental sampling technique. The analysis used are Qualitative Analysis and Quantitative Descriptive Analysis. Based on the Quantitative Descriptive Analysis, the results obtained can be summarized as follows: The score of assessment criteria based on the average value of 3.64 overall results thus obtained can be categorized that user satisfaction on the quality of library services at the Faculty of Science, GMU is good. Of the 24 indicators under consideration are translated into five sub-variables, namely: tangible, reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, Empathy. Of the five variables into the user satisfaction in choosing a service to the Faculty of Science, Gadjah Mada University Library which became the main consideration for the variable of tangible, the average value user satisfaction is 3.77, so based on the average value is good. For the dimensions of reliability, the average value user satisfaction is 3.59, so based on the average value is good. For dimensions of responsiveness, the average value user satisfaction is 3.65, so based on the average value is good. For security dimension, the average value user satisfaction is 3.64, so based on the average value is good. For the dimensions of empathy, the average user satisfaction is 3.58, so based On the average value is good.
