Abstract

Two keywords in implementing Quality Management System ISO 9001:2008 are customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. Both are important and always influence each other. In the practice of library service, user satisfaction becomes an essential aspect for the library to make a continuous improvement. This means when a library puts priority on user satisfaction, it will make continuous improvement. In other words, a continuous improvement will always be made when the library concentrates on achieving user satisfaction. This study is aimed at identifying the achievement level ofuser satisfaction reached at Sanata Dharma University Library (SD UL) in the period of 2008 to 2014 and to find out continuous improvement that has been made by SDUL, especially, the result analysis on monitoring and assessing user satisfaction. This study was a survey that used descriptive method. The result of the study showed the achievement level of monitoring and assessmentof user satisfaction at SDUL in the period of 2008 to 2014 reached maximum score, that is, 3.5 to 3.8 in the scale of I to 5. Observed from the user satisfaction analysis, continuous quality improvement conducted in SDUL covered three important fields, that is, information and information access facilities, library services, and infrastucture and work environment. Abstract

This study aims to identify the utilization of repository collection at FMIPA UGM library using Eprints. It is a descriptive study with a quantitative approach. The subjects were librarians utilizing repository collection. The object was repository collection. Methods of data collection in this study were observation, documentation, and questionnaires. Data were analyzed quantitatively. The result of the study showed that the librarian managed to meet the target of uploading as many as 3100 documents in PDF file within 1 month (July 2014) but the proportion based on department was yet as expected. Average utilization of repository collections at FMIPA UGM library was 70.45%. This was considered as very good. The highest score of satisfaction was found in the quality of repository collection (87.75%) and the lowest was in the number of documents used (35.4%). Respondents used repository collection within 1-2 hours per day (80.0%). Respondents read and took notes (80.0%). As many as 87.75% of respondents considered that repository collection of FMIPA library was of good quality, particularly viewed from aspects of currency and relevance to user needs.

Abstract

The aim ofthis research are (1) to know the influence of Rembang Public Library transfer to Kartini Beach tourism area toward animo of visits to the libratyt (2) to know user perception about Rembang Public Library transfer to Kartini Beach tourism area (3) to know animo of visits to Rembang Public Library. This was a quantitative research that used correlation method between location (independent variable) and animo of visits (dependent variable). Data were collected through questionnaire, interview and documentation. Data analysis used product moment correlation and processed using SPSS version 17 for Windows. The result of the study showed there was significant correlation between location and animo of visits. Score of correlation was 0.632 at significance level 5% r table is 0.202. The Rembang public library transfer to Kartini Beach tourism area belonged to good category whereby grand mean of location variable was 2.86. Animo of visits also belonged to high category whereby grand mean was 3.01.

Abstract

Bung Hatta was the proclaimer of independence, first vice president of the Republic of Indonesia. He was also a scientist and a very prolific writer with his work in various fields of study. His works discuss economic issues, cooperation, politics, law, philosophy, religion, and others. Out of 163 titles of his writings, 69 titles (4.2(X) are available in Hatta Corner, not including translations and works that may still be issued. Bibliographic data of his works are largely obtained from the online catalog of various institutions; i.e. OCLC World Cat 46 titles, Bibliography by the Idayu Foundation 26 titles, NLA 8 titles, Hathitrust 5 titles, the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia 4 titles, JSTOR 4 titles, and Bihliotheek Arnhem 1 title. There are 8 titles ofBung Hattas works that have been translated into various languages, including Bung Hatta defense manuscript while he was in jail and would face the Hague trihunal, in March 1928, entitled 7ndonesie Vrij!". His most productive period was in the decade of 1951-1960, aged 49-58, with as many as 47 titles of writing. His greatest contributions were in the field of human rights, political and social economy. His works became guide for the governance of the Republic ofIndonesia.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the practice of book loan renewal service through Facebook social media at the Library of Faculty of Social & Political Sciences Gadjah Mada University. Type of this research is quantitative. Variable of this research is a single variable that is the utilization of loan renewal services through Facebook. The sampling technique in this research was accidental sampling. Samples in this research consisted of 4829 library users. Data collection methods in this research comprised observation, documentation, and interviews. Data analysis used a percentage formula and regression analysis to examine the results of the percentage of the data obtained The results of the study utilization of renewal service throughFacebook reached 64.43% and fine for overdue loan reached 13%. A test through simple analysis indicated r count > 0.723 0.576 table. So it can be said to be significant, which meant service throughFacebook was considered more beneficial. To conclude, theutilization of loan renewal service through Facebook social media was founduseful.

Abstract

A smile is not the movement of the lips without meaning. A smile is a facial expression that shows interest in things that make us love seeing it So a smile shows an expression, may it be happiness, satisfaction, joy or love towards something. Library services need a good interaction between users and librarians, one of these interactions through non verbal communication is smiling. This research was conducted as librarians found it difficult to smile for some reasons. Smile is done only at certaintimes. A smiling librarian will make other librarians and library users respond with a smile too, so there will be a positive interaction, with a conducive atmosphere. But there are various kinds of smile; cynical smile, the seductive smile, stoic smile and sincere smile. A sincere smile is hard to do, therefore it requires a method or trainingfor someone to get accustomed to a smile. First, look in the mirror. Two, smile in the family. Three, smile training using a Chopstick. Four, use "Grin-O-Meter". The library should prioritize a smile training programme. In the end, a smile can be familiarized in the service of every library in Indonesia. Keyword: smile, social skills, library service

Abstract

This study aims to compare the utilization of print journals against electronic journals in the information needs qfstudents at the University of Sumatera Utara Branch of Medical Library. Analysis includes the utilization of journals, journal collections according to the user needs. Research method used descriptive with comparative approach. Samples were determined using accidental sampling technique. Data were collected through observation and questionnaires distributed to the students of Bachelor's Degree General Medicine Study Program. Analyses were performed by grouping data from questionnaires and observation. The result of the study showed the majority of students used electronic journals more often than print journals. Overall electronic journals met the information needs of students rather than print journal. In general, students said that electronic journals were more sophisticated than print journals.
