Abstract

A study about formulation Handwash liquid soap which contain etanol extract of occimum folium (Ocimum basilicum L.). Has been conducted. This study aims to product the stable formulation of handwash liquid soap which contain etanol extract of occimum folium (Ocimum basilicum L.).This study was conducted using three variations of viscosity agent. Then do some test with storage method with organoleptic parameters, pH, foaming test, viscosity and type of flow, before and after imposed conditions.Organoleptic test result showed theres no change at II and III, test showed that is stable because still at soap pH before and after imposed condition. Statistical analysis of viscosity test showed there is difference for each formula before and after storage condition. Yield value showed difference yield value before and after strorage condition and at formula there no difference. At rheogram curve theres coincides at formula III before and after imposed condition. For foaming test , three formula is stable because theres have a good foam. The conclusion is the stable handwash liquid soap is formula III. Key words : Formulation, Handwash Liquid Soap, Occimum folium

Abstract

Antibacterial activity of taro leaves ekxtract has been conducted. The Recearch aimed to determine the antibacterial activity and concentration of ethanol extract of taro leaves (Colocacia esculeta) inhibited the growth of either Salmonella thypi and Staphylococcus aureus by agar diffusion. The result of the antibacterial activity screening in concentration of 1% showed that the ethanol extract of taro leaves by solid dilution provided activity againts Salmonella thypii and Staphylococcus aureus. Based on the test results of antibacterial activity by agar diffusion using concentration of 1% , 2% and 4 % showed that the ethanol extract of taro has the largest inhibition zone diameter againts Staphylococcus aureus of 4% was 15 mm.

Abstract

The aim of the research was to determine the optimum stable physically of the hand wash.Three formula were made in vary emulsifying agents that are Span 60-Tween 60, TEA-Stearic acid and Sodium lauryl sulfate respectively. The assays carried out by accelerated condition on 5oC and 35oC for 10 cycles by which the parameter were emulsion type, creaming volume, viscosity and type of flow and dispersed globule measuring.Result showed that according to emulsion type all formula exhibited o/w indicated by blue color that even before and after conditioned. There were nothing of creaming volume in all formula.Statistic analyse in viscosity and flowing type showed that formula A insignificant before and after conditioned, and has small dispersed globule. Rheogram showed close curve so that conclusion that might be taken that formula A was the optimum one.

Abstract

Studies have been conducted testing the antimicrobial activity of leaf extracts gamal (Glyricidia sepium (Jacq.) Steud.). Preliminary research conducted by the screening test using the test microbe Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella typhi, Streptococcus mutans, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Vibrio sp, Bacillus subtilis and Candida albicans to extract ethanol, diethyl ether and n-butanol from leaf gamal (Glyricidia sepium (Jacq.) Steud.) with levels of 1 mg / ml. The results showed that the diethyl ether extract active has hampered the growth of microbes Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Streptococcus mutans, Salmonella typhi, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.Tests for antimicrobial activity against diethyl ether extracts of leaves gamal (Glyricidia sepium (Jack). Steud.) Carried out by liquid dilution method to determine the value of MIC at a concentration of 0.025%, 0.05%, 0.1%, 0.2%, 0, 4%, 0.8% and 1.6%, followed by etching in a solid medium to determine the price of teaching. The results showed that the MIC could not be determined due to turbidity test solution, while the price KBM 0.05% for Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhi 0.4%, 0.8% for Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Streptococcus mutans and 1.6% for Staphylococcus aureus,To estimate the class of compounds that provide antimicrobial activity test carried out TLC-Bioautografi. Obtained the best results from the separation of compounds by TLC using the eluent n-hexan: ethyl acetate (2:1). TLC-Bioautografi test results showed that the spots with Rf 0.27 and Rf value of 0.363 provides antimicrobial activity against Escherichia coli, Rf 0.363 against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Rf 0.45 against Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella typhi, and Streptococcus mutans. The results of identification of chemical components showed that the active compounds gave positive results in spotting penampak phenol group at Rf 0.27 and Rf 0.36 and Rf 0.45 on steroids.Key word: antimicrobial activity, screening, TLC-Bioautografi, Gamal (Glyricidia sepium (Jack).Steud.)

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic diseases caused by impaired insulin secretion. The prevalence of DM in pets increased from 2006 until 2015.Therapy by using insulin feared can be worse for patient, so yhat alternative medicine is needed like banana peel. The aims of this study isto determine the effect ofethanol extract of Mas banana peel (Musa acuminata (AA Group)) to decrease level of glucose in mice?s blood (Mus musculus) were induced by alloxan. This research was conducted in June 2017 at Biopharmaceutical Laboratory Faculty of Pharmacy, Hasanuddin University. This study uses 24 male mice which divided into 6 groups where the normal control (standard diet), negative control (Na.Cmc 1%), positive control (Metformin 140mg/KgBB) and treatment group by ethanol extract of Mas banana peel 1%, 5%, and 25%. The treatment was given for 10 days. Data were analyzed using one way Anova. The result of this study showed that ethanol extract in banana peel decrease the level of blood glucose which the decrease percentage are 43,15%, 54,61%, 74,28%. The summary of this research is the treatment by using variant concentration of ethanol extract of Mas banana peelfor 10 days give the significant effect for decreasing the level of blood glucose (p<0,05) and the activity of ethanol extract of Mas Banana Peel 25% are not give the significant effect with metformin dose 140mg/KgBB (p>0,05).

Abstract

A research on The Phenol Coefficient Test Formulation of Disinfectant with vary Concentration Of Benzalkonium Chloride to microorganisms test Salmonella thyposa and Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25922 has been done. This research was conducted to know concentration of  solution disinfectant with certain dilution which effective to destroy the pathogen microorganisms. Microbiology?s test was done with dilution methods to know dilution lower which can delay the growth of test microorganisms and Coefficient Phenol methods (Rideal-Walker Test) to know dilution of disinfectant which concentrate on five variations such as benzalkonium chloride, 0.05%; 0.1%; 0.2%; 0.4%; 0.8%, with used NB media (Nutrient Broth) which incubated for 2 x 24 hours. Result of research show that count of phenol coefficient every that concentration of Benzalconium chloride are 0.4; 0.8; 1.4; 2.2; 5.4 for Salmonella thyposa and 0.4; 0.8; 1.6; 5.4; 11.8 for Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25922. Because count of coefficient phenol are large than 0.05 according to the appointment of Ditjen POM, and then formula which standarized can as desinfectant. From dilution and properties of antimicrobe, that benzalkonium chloride 0.8% with dilution 1:108 that is very effective to two that pathogen bacteries to be as an used active agent disinfectant floor cleaner.Keywords : Phenol coefficient test, benzalkonium chloride, disinfectant, floor cleaner

Abstract

Malaria is a global human health problem and also a leading cause of death in tropical and subtropical countries. Over the past fifteen years, the prevalence of malaria has decreased by more than half. However, a new problem emerged, namely the emergence of resistance to existing malaria drugs. Therefore, efforts to develop new malaria drugs are needed to combat the malariad disease. Moringa oleifera is one of the important plants that is widely cultivated in NTT. This plant contains many important pharmacological effects such as anti-asthma, antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antimicrobial, and others. However, the pharmacological effects of MO plants as antimalarials are not yet clearly known. The aim of this study is to use the in silico approach to investigate the potential of the Moringa oleifera compound which functions as a Plasmodium falciparum dihydrofolate reductase-thymidine synthase (pfDHFR-TS) receptor inhihibitor. The research method used is the in silico approach using TCMSP web based application and molecular docking simulation using USCF Chimera. The results of pharmacological tests and molecular docking simulations show that the bioactive pyhtol compound from Moringa oleifera has potential as a new malaria drug compound. Phytol compound has a MW of 296.6; the number of Hdon and Hacc is 1; OB of 33.82%; TPSA of 20.23 and the number of HL is 2.34. While the energy affinity of pyhtol compounds is -6.4 kcal / mol.

Abstract

Johar leaf has been empirically used as malaria and hepatitis medicine. This research aims to determine hepatoprotective effect of ethanol extract of Johar leaves (Cassia siamea Lamk.) of rats liver. This  research used 15 tested rats divided into 5 groups, group I was given Na.CMC 1% (negative control), group II ethanolic extract of Johar leaves of 50 mg/kgBB, group III ethanolic extract of Johar leaves of 250 mg/kgBB, group IV ethanolic extract of Johar leaves of 500 mg/kgBB, and group V as a comparison given suspension curliv® of 42,86 mg/kgBB. Giving suspension curliv® was orally done once a day for 7 days. On the 8th day, the experimental rats were given paracetamol suspension dosage of 2,5 g/kgBB. Measurements of SGPT content was done before therapy (normal), after therapy, and after administration of paracetamol. The results showed that the ethanolic extract of Johar leaves with the dose of 50; 250; 500 mg/kgBB have a hepatoprotective effect and dose is 500 mg/kgBB which was not statistically significantly different from curliv®.

Abstract

Neem (Azadirachta indica A.Juss.) Is a plant that has medicinal benefits as malaria, antitukak stomach and is also can used as natural insecticides, fungicides, larvicides and antifertility.  This Research  aims to know the mortality rate of larvae of Aedes aegypti with LC50 values indicated. Neem fruit plucked from a tree lombok island.neem. Extracts obtained by maceration solvent with the masceration methanol. Retrieved rendamen extract as much as 25,17%, then purified with n-hexane solvent. Larvasida test used 180 larvae of Aedes aegypti first instar III. Test solutions were made in 4 concentration, positive control using powder Abate® (Themephos), and a negative control. Observations were made after 24 hours of treatment . Aedes aegypti larval mortality analyzed with probid analysis to know LC50 and obtained phytochemical components contained in the methanol extracts were saponins and tannins. LC50 obtained from the methanol extract of neem fruit flesh is 1817,18 ± 1,075 µg/ml. This shows the methanol extract of neem fruit flesh (Azadirachta indica A.Juss.) Does not have the effect toxicity against larvae of Aedes aegypti indicated by LC50 > 1000 ppm. Keywords: Flesh neem, Azadirachta indica A. Juss., Aedes aegypti, LC50.

Abstract

A research about the effect of time delays on the result of urinalysis urine sediment. This research is aimed to determine the presence or absence effect of delay on the result of urine sediment eximination. This research used cross sectional study. Total amount sample was 37 samples and using urine at the time. A microscopic examination of a sample ( urine sediment) by the method of Shih-Yung. The research result showed that the average number of leukocytes in immediate examination, 2 hour, amd 3 hour are 1,29/µl, 1.05/µl, 0,89/ µl respective, the average numberof erythroctes immediate examination,2 hour, and 3 hour are  0,70/ µl, 0.59/ µl, 0,48/µl, respective, the average number of epitheliel cell examination immediate, 2 hour, and 3 hour are 9,70/LPB, 8,51/LPB, 7,54/LPB respective. By One Way Anova statistical Test, test value P>0,05 with a value of F count < F table. Based one data the result of study then it can be conclusion that are no signifikan effect of time delay urine sediment examination immediate, 2 hours and 3 hours at room temperature.Key words: Time, Urinalisis, Urin.
