Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know the difference of Senior High School student's anxiety level in facing the university enrollment selection (UMPTN), viewed from academic achievement, study program background, and their sexes. The descriptive method was used in this research in the causal comparative approach. The population of this research was students of Senior High School I in Mojogedang Karanganyar, and the samples were 90 students. The members of the samples were designed in purposive random sampling. The data were collected by using questionnaires and examination documents. To analyze the data, the Chi-square technique was used. The result of analysis showed that there was a different anxiety level of student viewed from academic achievement (Xh>Xt or 4,481>3,481); but if it was viewed from study program background there was no difference (Xh<Xt or 0,216<3,841); and if it was viewed from the sexes there was a difference (Xh<Xt or 2,58<3,841).

Abstract

Kompleksitas teknologi meringankan kemampuan siswa untuk memahami isi dan inti mata pelajaran praktikum. Hal ini disebabkan oleh fakta bahwa lingkungan komputasi dan pengembangan aplikasi merupakan alat pengajaran efektif yang mampu meningkatkan kemampuan belajar siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian pengembangan, yang desain pengembangannya menggunakan model pengembangan multimedia. Pengembangan multimedia animasi berbasis android untuk mata pelajaran produktif dilaksanakan melalui suatu pengembangan perangkat multimedia. Naskah mobile learning ditulis oleh penulis naskah dan dikaji oleh ahli materi, kurikulum, media, dan desain pembelajaran. Tahap selanjutnya adalah tahap produksi program ?MABA? disebarluaskan ke sekolah-sekolah. Hasil penilaian aspek kemudahan penggunaan (perceived of ease of use) diperoleh nilai rerata skor 4,72 dengan kategori sangat baik. Aspek manfaat (perceived  usefullness) diperoleh nilai rerata skor 4,65 dengan kategori sangat baik. Aspek sikap dalam menggunakan ?MABA? (attitude toward using) diperoleh nilai rerata skor 4,71 dengan kategori sangat baik. Terakhir, aspek realisasi penggunaan ?MABA? (actual usage)  diperoleh nilai rerata skor 4,59 dengan kategori sangat baik.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat bagaimana dan sejauh mana refleksidiri guru memiliki kontribusi terhadap upaya pengembangan profesionalismenya.Penelitian ini melibatkan sebanyak 120 guru SD di Provinsi Lampung. Pengambilansampel dilakukan secara random sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa angket persepsiguru. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode analisis regresi linier. Hasilpenelitian dapat dikemukakan bahwa refleksi diri guru secara signifikan memberikankontribusi positif terhadap perilaku profesional maupun upaya pengembanganprofesionalisme sebesar 35,1% (p<0.05). Dengan kata lain, jika refleksi diri gurudilakukan dengan baik, maka upaya yang dilakukannya untuk mengembangkanprofesionalisme juga baik.

Abstract

This research aims at describing: (1) the carrying out of literacy teachinglearning; (2) the quality of literacy teaching learning; (3) the obstacles in literacyteaching learning; and (4) the efforts of solving the problems in literacy teachinglearning. The method used is qualitative descriptive method. The sources of data includeplaces and events, informants, and documents. The data collecting technique was conductedthrough observation, interview, and document analysis. Data triangulation,method triangulation, and reviewing informant were used in data validity test. Dataanalysis technique applied interactive analysis model. The research result showed that:(1) learning literacy was conducted through three steps namely planning, implementing,and evaluating; (2) most students achieved the criteria of minimum mastery score, 7.5.Students' daily mean score in reading and writing was 7.5.; (3) the obstacles faced inlearning literacy are (a) teacher and students got difficulties in developing writingactivities; (b) school program of reading and writing fondness didn't run well, (c) media,teaching infrastructure haven't been optimally provided. (4) there were some ways toovercome the problems: (a) giving more assignments on writing especially uprightcontinual handwriting, (b) giving more assignments on reading by providing more booksat school, (c) providing sufficient infrastructure at schools.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the effectiveness of training in scientific process skills for elementary schoolteachers based on the learning organization in improving their professionalism. The scientific training based on learning organization was developed using systematic approach. This approach was in line with the school as anorganizationthatshouldproducelearners.Alearningorganizationisanorganization whose members are sensitive to problems, to overcome problems together and continuously, and to reach target that have been specified. The research method in this study was a modification of the Borg & Gall (1979) Research & Development (R&D) method. This research was done in Wonogiri regency and 34 teachers were involved. Principally, this research used a design one-group-pretest-posttest to determine the effectiveness of the research subject treatment. Based on the study, it can be concluded that the training model based on the learning organization can significantly improve the mastery of the concept, the skill processes and the ability of science learning. This training is supported by supervisor and head-masters, so it can be followed-up by the teacher activities team (KKG) in the classroom. Finally, it can be recommended that: (1) the training system based on the learning organization can be used to enhance school independence in improving the teachers' professionalism; (2) sources of learning available in school require to motivate teacher in training activity; (3) training of science teaching is better done step by step in order to run well; (4) headmaster and supervisor involved in socializationshouldsupportthetrainingactivitytotally.

Abstract

 Based on this, the study aims to improve the activity and learning outcomes of the ability to study the exposition text in grade XI students of SMA Negeri 3 Sura­karta. This research is a class action study with two cycles. Based on data analysis, in the pre cycle, the process of learning monotonous assignments and questioning so that the activation and learning outcomes are still low. In cycle I, activity and learning out­comes experienced a significant increase but had not yet reached an achievement indi­cator. In cycle II, increased activation and learning outcomes are not very significant compared to the increase in the pre cycle to the I cycle. However, the results have reached an achievement indicator so that learning is said to be successful. It was con­cluded that the application of the Teams Games Tournament method with the media game Truth and Dare could improve the activity and learning results of the ability to study the exposition text in students XI MIPA 4 SMA Negeri 3 Surakarta.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh: (1) Model pembelajaran (inkuiri terbimbing dan model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 4E (LC 4E)) terhadap prestasi  belajar siswa pada materi kelarutan dan hasil kali kelarutan; (2) Kemampuan berpikir kritis terhadap prestasi belajar siswa pada materi kelarutan dan hasil kali ke-larutan; dan (3) Interaksi model pembelajaran (inkuiri terbimbing dan model pembel-ajaran LC 4E) dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis terhadap prestasi belajar siswa pada materi  kelarutan dan hasil kali kelarutan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperi-men dengan desain faktorial 2x2. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan  angket. Uji hipotesis menggunakan ANAVA dua jalan dengan bantuan aplikasi SPSS 18. Hasil penelitian disimpulkan: (1) Prestasi pengetahuan dan sikap siswa pada model LC 4E lebih baik dibandingkan model inkuri terbimbing. Hal ini ditunjukkan dari rera-ta masing-masing untuk aspek pengetahuan 78,85 dan 60, 82 serta aspek sikap 3,91 dan 3,27; sedangkan prestasi keterampilan tidak ada pengaruh model pembelajaran terhadap prestasi siswa; (2) Tidak ada pengaruh kemampuan berpikir kritis terhadap prestasi pengetahuan, sikap maupun keterampilan siswa; dan (3) Tidak ada interaksi antara model LC 4E dan inkuiri terbimbing terhadap prestasi pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan siswa.

Abstract

This study was evaluative in nature. The population was all the small entrepreneurs(n = 38) in the small-industrial center of foundry in Klaten regency, whoimplemented the cooperative subcontracting system. To confirm the data obtained fromthe subcontractor entrepreneurs, the researcher collected other data from six contractorentrepreneurs, using questionnaire and interview. The data were then analyzeddescriptively and presented in the form of mean score. The result of this research showedthat the capacities of the production tools used by the subcontractors were very adequate,though the foundry technology was obsolete. The preparation of the subcontractors inimplementing the cooperation was still less adequate, especially in finance and management.The level of subcontractors' entrepreneur capabilities in realizing the cooperationwas classified as high enough, and the level of constraint faced by the subcontractorsin implementing the cooperative subcontracting system was high enough,especially in the area of capital formation, supplying of raw materials and marketing.The level of contractors' involvement was classified as low, especially in terms of capitalsupport, raw material contribution, and expertise support.

Abstract

This research aims to: (1) find out the description of (a) principal's leadership,(b) work ethos, (c) perception on the teacher's teaching capability, and (d) quality ofElementary School; (2) develop and examine the effect of principal's leadership, workethos, perception of the teacher's teaching capability directly or indirectly on educationquality. This research was conducted at the elementary schools in Surakarta from Marchto September 2004. The research method employed was a descriptive correlation methodthat is expost facto in nature. The population was the principals of elementary schoolsthroughout Surakarta city. 37 respondents were selected as the sample using clusterrandom sampling technique. The instrument of data collection employed was questionnairewith Likert scale for dependent variable: education quality (Y); independentvariable: principal's leadership (X1), work ethos (X2); and mediating variable: perceptionof the teacher's teaching capability (X3). Technique of analyzing data employed wasstatistic technique with correlation regression and path analysis. From the result ofresearch, it can be concluded that: (1) the principal's leadership, work ethos, perceptionon the teacher's teaching capability, and education quality (elementary school) have apositive and significant relation; (2) there is a direct positive significant effect of principal'sleadership factor on the quality of education with effective contribution 26.57%;(3) there is a direct positive significant effect of principal's work ethos factor on thequality of education with effective contribution 24.68%; and (4) there is a direct positivesignificant effect of principal's perception of the teacher's teaching capability factor onthe quality of education with effective contribution 24.57%.

Abstract

This Class-Action Research is intended to develop students activities inlearning Biology under Contextual approach. This research is conduted on the studentsof seventh grade class E State Junior High School 1 Wungu, Madiun Regency. Thesubjects of the research were 33 students of that class. The parameters determined in thisresearch are students activity and achievement. The analysis result showed that thestudents activity is good by 77,05% in cycle I, and very good by 80,38% in cycle II. Thethresh hold level is 81,8% in cycle I and 93,3% in cycle II. The contextual approachapplied by media herbarium and insectarium is analitically proven to be effective indeveloping students learning activity and achievement.
