Abstract

The problem of student?s misconceptions of stoichiometry is still happening even though there have been so many studies done for identify misconception experienced by students. It is because most of those research is only focused on revealing student?saomisconceptions. The purpose ofathisastudyais to identifyatheatendency ofomisconceptions experienced by studentsuanduexamineatheaappropriate learning strategies that can be applied to avoid those misconceptions. Comparative study is performed to determine misconceptions appeared in the identification process through various diagnostic instruments, namely two-tier test, three-tier test and certainty of response index. Thearesultiofothispstudy showsithatimost of misconceptions appeared because rstudents are too focused on the algorithmic aspects and put aside the conceptual aspects in solving stoichiometric problems. It is caused by the instruction process which emphasizes the success of using formulas to solve numeric problems so students ignore understanding of related concepts. The use of chemical representation visualization through student-generated sub-micro diagrams is considered capable of being a link between macroscopic and symbolic phenomena so as to enhance students?s understanding of concepts related to stoichiometry.

Abstract

The aim of Implementation of lesson study in community service are to improve the quality of teaching and learning using scientific approach. Data sources from 25 teachers of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (chemistry, biology, physics). The implementation is carried out in two cycles, each cycle consisting of the stages of plan, do, and see with the application of learning in the subjects of hydrocarbon chemistry in class XI and chemical bonds in class X. Data collection techniques used are observation with observation sheet instruments and documentation containing photos and videos. Data were analyzed descriptively. Implementation results prove how scientific learning in subjects can improve the quality of learning in chemistry subjects. In class students become more active, learning becomes more conducive, group discussion becomes more lively because all of group members prepare the discussion materials correctly. They are become more enthusiastic and active. In addition, teachers can collaborate, share knowledge and can improve teacher competency and the quality of learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this research are determining the effect of discovery learning models on science process skills and determining the student?s activities by applying discovery learning models in the experimental class and conventional learning in the control class. In this research, the writer applied quasi experimental design with non-equivalent control group design. For the sampling method, the writer used random sampling technique. XI MIA 1 with a total of 39 students as experimental design class and XI MIA 2 with a total of 40 students as a control class. Data collection used test techique, there are 10 multiple choice questions of science process skills. While, non-test technique used observation sheet of science process skills. The result of students? science process skills analysis test from the t test with the posttest result obtained sig. (2-tailed) of 0.003 < 0.05. Based from the explanation. It can be concluded that there is an effect of the discovery learning model on the students? science process skills in the salt hydrolysis material at MA Patra Mandiri. The results of the observation sheet obtained a percentage of 77% for the experimental class and 71% for the control class. So that science process skills through discovery learning models in salt hydrolysis material at MA Patra Mandiri showed a good criteria.

Abstract

The student creativity in project-based Biochemistry practicum lectures with local materials can be obtained when teaching materials support the achievement of learning outcomes. The purpose of this study is to develop teaching materials for project-based biochemical practicum with local materials that can enhance student creativity. This research is classified into Development research with the ADDIE development model and Tessmer formative evaluation. The stages of this research consisted of self-evaluation, expert reviews, one to one and small group. The results of this study indicate that teaching materials in the form of Student Work Sheets (LKM) based on projects with local materials have passed the expert review stage by obtaining a material validity score of 0.75 including eligibility criteria, pedagogical validity of 0.77 including eligibility criteria, design of 0.75 including the eligible criteria. Based on one to one trial, it was obtained a value of 90.67% included in the excellent category and a small group obtained a value of 90.67% included in the excellent category. The implementation of LKM based on local material projects has an impact on increasing the creativity of students in the high category.

Abstract

The ability to solve problems is one of the ability to learn and innovate in the face of 21st century chemistry learning but the problem is that the ability to study chemistry is still low. Learning is still teacher-centered and there is a lack of student involvement, so one model is needed to improve it, the flipped classroom model. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of problem solving through the flipped classroom model on the reaction rate material. The research method is descriptive quantitative in 34 students of MIPA 2 XI grade in one of the state high schools in Tangerang Regency. The instrument used was 16 essay test questions that were assessed using the problem solving scoring rubric according to Schoen and Oehmke on a scale of 1-10 then the scores were interpreted based on criteria according to Riduwan. The results of this study indicate that the ability to solve problems through the flipped classroom model has very good criteria with a percentage of 81.3. These results students are expected to compete and meet educational competence in the 21st century.

Abstract

The purpose of research is(1)to find out the chemistry learning outcomes taught using the Numbered Head Together learning model (2) knowing the chemistry learning outcomes taught using Think Pair Share learning model (3) knowing the differences in chemistry learning outcomes of students taught using the NHT model and chemistry learning outcomes taught using TPS model. This research is a quasy eksperimental with Pra-Post Test Control Group Design. Population in this study is class X IPA1-5 amounting to 180. The sampling technique was purposive sampling in class X IPA 2 and X IPA 4. Data collection techniques using observation, documentation and test questions pra-post test. Data analysis techniques are descriptive statistics, inferential statistics and analysis prerequisite tests. The results were obtained in both classes through descriptive statistical analysis namely the average learning outcomes using the numbered head together model = 72,50 while the average learning outcomes using the model Think Pair Share = 69,17. Results of inferential statistical data obtained tcount 3,508> ttable 2,004. It can be concluded that H0 is rejected which means that there are differences in Numbered Head Together learning model with Think PairShare learning model on student learning outcomes in class X IPA SMA 22 Palembang on electrolyte and non-electrolyte material. It can be concluded that H0 is rejected, which means that there is a difference between the NHT model and the TPS model towards student learning outcomes on electrolyte and non-electrolyte material in class X IPA senior high school in Palembang.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a significant difference between student chemistry learning outcomes in the solubility material and solubility results applying the Problem Based Learning learning model and Think Pair Share learning model in the solubility material and solubility results in class XII IPA SMA Negeri 1 Pangean. This research uses a quantitative approach. This type of research is Quasi experimental research (quasi-experimental) with a design that is Posttets Only, Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study were students of class XI IPA of SMA Negeri 1 Pangean which were divided into 2 classes, namely class XI IPA 1 and XI IPA 2. The sampling technique was cluster random sampling. Data collection techniques used are observation and tests. The instrument used in this study was a test namely Posttest. The data analysis technique used is the Non-parametric Mann Whitney U Test. The results of data analysis concluded the significance value = 0.278. Because the significance is> 0.05 then Ho is accepted. So it can be concluded that there is no difference in student learning outcomes with the learning model Problem Based Learning and Think Pair Share on the solubility material and the solubility results in class XI Science in SMA Negeri 1 Pangean.

Abstract

Miskonsepsi merupakan pemodelan yang salah dari suatu fenomena, dimana bagi siswa pemodelan tersebut nampak masuk akal dan berpotensi benar. Pembelajaran yang baik adalah dengan cara memunculkan pengetahuan lama untuk dihubungkan dengan pengetahuan baru.Salah satu metode pembelajaran untuk mendukung proses ini yaitu dengan menggunakan teks perubahan konseptual. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis miskonsepsi siswa yang belajar menggunakan teks perubahan konseptual mengenai materi hukum-hukum dasar kimia.Penelitian dilakukan pada 69 siswa kelas X di SMA Negeri di Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Berdasarkan hasil analisis jawaban siswa, terdapat sepuluh miskonsepsi yaitudalam hukum kekekalan massa, jika massa salah satu unsur dilipatgandakan, maka massa unsur lain juga harus dilipatgandakan dengan kelipatan yang sama (M-1); dalam hukum perbandingan tetap, massa senyawa hasil reaksi adalah penjumlahan massa unsur-unsur yang direaksikan (M-2); dalam hukum perbandingan tetap, massa unsur yang dijumlahkan adalah massa atom relatifnya (M-3); dalam hukum perbandingan tetap terdapat kesalahan matematis dalam menghitung massa unsur yang bereaksi sesuai dengan perbandingannya (M-4); dalam hukum perbandingan berganda, membandingkan salah satu unsur tanpa membuat perbandingan unsur yang lain sama (M-5); dalam hukum perbandingan berganda, menyatakan perbandingan unsur X dengan perbandingan unsur yang bukan X (M-6); dalam hukum perbandingan berganda, persentase unsur X adalah kebalikan dari persentase unsur yang bukan X (M-7); dalam hukum perbandingan volume, jumlah koefisien sebelum dan setelah reaksi adalah sama (M-8); dalam hukum perbandingan volume, jumlah volume sebelum dan setelah reaksi adalah sama (M-9); dalam hipotesis Avogadro, perbandingan koefisien menunjukkan perbandingan massa (M-10).

Abstract

Kesetimbangan kimia adalah salah satu materi kimia yang dianggap memiliki beberapa konsep sulit, sehingga harus disampaikan menggunakan model pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep peserta didik, salah satunya dengan model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E menggunakan real laboratory dan virtual laboratory. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E dengan real laboratory dan virtual laboratory terhadap kualitas proses pembelajaran pada materi kesetimbangan kimia. Rancangan penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan eksperimen semu dengan analisis data deskriptif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI MIA SMA Negeri 2 Malang, menggunakan convenience sampling dan diperoleh sampel penelitian siswa kelas XI MIA 4 (LC 5E dengan real laboratory) dan siswa kelas XI MIA 5 (LC 5E dengan virtual laboratory). Instrumen yang digunakan berupa instrumen perlakuan yang terdiri dari RPP dan bahan ajar, serta instrumen pengukuran yang terdiri dari lembar RTOP, lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, serta lembar penilaian afektif dan psikomotorik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas proses dengan model pembelajaran LC 5E menggunakan real laboratory dan virtual laboratory terlaksana dengan baik, serta penilaian afektif dan psikomotorik peserta didik mencapai ketuntasan sebesar 100%. Kata kunci: kualitas proses, real laboratory, virtual laboratory.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui kualitas kegiatan online dalam pembelajaran berbasis blended learning. Kualitas kegiatan online dinilai berdasarkan tiga kategori yaitu: jumlah tugas yang telah dikerjakan siswa, frekuensi online, nilai aktivitas; (2) mengetahui hubungan kualitas kegiatanonline terhadap pemahaman konsep laju reaksi pada pembelajaran berbasis blended learning. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan eksperimen semu.Instrumen dalam penelitian ini meliputi instrumen perlakuan (silabus, RPP, LKS, Media Online) dan instrumen pengukuran (tes pemahaman konsep laju reaksi dan wawancara). Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan uji korelasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Kualitas online pada aspek: (a) jumlah tugas, menunjukkan bahwa dari 36 penugasan, sebanyak 44% siswa telah melaksanakan tugas di kegiatan online pada rentang 31-36, disusul dengan 16% siswa pada rentang 19-24 kegiatan. Hal ini menunjukkan sebagian besar siswa telah melaksanakan penugasan pada kegiatan online. (b) frekuensionline, menunjukkan bahwa frekuensi akses siswa tidak merata. Frekuensi akses terbesar yaitu 44% pada rentang 251-500 akses, disusul dengan 24% siswa pada rentang 501-750 akses dan akses terendah 4% pada rentang 1251-1500 akses; (c) nilai aktivitas, menunjukkan bahwa beberapa aktivitas online cukup dipergunakan dengan baik oleh siswa, hal ini terlihat pada: 1. aktivitas forum diskusi dan chattingsebanyak 48% siswa tidak memberikan komentar pada forum diskusi dan chatting, dan 32% siswa kadang-kadang memberikan komentar dalam diskusi; pada aktivitas membaca handout 64% telah mengakses handout dan membacanya; pada aktivitas evaluasi 76% siswa mendapatkan nilai diatas 96; pada aktivitas upload laporan praktikum, sebanyak 88% siswa telah mengirim laporan tepat waktu(2) terdapat korelasi negatif antara hubungan kualitas kegiatan online dengan pemahaman konsep laju reaksi pada pembelajaran berbasis blended learning.
