Abstract

Boyolali Regency is among districts in Indonesia, which still has poverty issues and receives direct cash assistance from the government. Yet, villages of the regency including Sruni at Musuk sub-district has been known as one of the main producers of fresh cow milk for the Central Java region.There has been no attempt to process fresh milk into food products of higher economic value at Sruni Village. Meanwhile, results of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analysis at Musuk showed that the region has the potential to be developed for dairy industry. Therefore, through socialization program, community empowerment should be initiated by socializing benefits of fermenting cattle milk into yogurt as a probiotic food product. The socialization had been carried out for 12 housewives in the village of Sruni through two small-class seminars in April 2019. Evaluation was conducted by comparing the number of correct answers from participants? answers recorded on questionnaire given prior and after each of both seminars. Percentage of improved answers were presented in histograms and then analyzed. As results, the first seminar produced in average 47.4% improved answers, while the second seminar could generate in average 27.3% improved answers. The results showed that in general, the conducted socialization program was quite successful in improving understanding of Sruni villagers on the benefits of fermenting cattle milk into yogurt as a probiotic food product.

Abstract

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FINANCIAL REPORTING AND BUDGETING BASED PERFORMANCE IN STIKES MUHAMMADIYAH PALEMBANG. The purpose of this technical assistance activity were to provide knowledge and insights related to the financial management and performance based budgeting to the principal and budget user of STIKES Muhammadiyah Palembang and to help compile the work program. This activity was attended by 23 leaders from various levels.Materials that provided were, performance based budgeting, best practices, and financial reporting. The results of technical assistance for performance based budgeting indicate an increase in the ability of participants to develop budgets. Evaluation of the participants showed that they were very enthusiastic about following the activity from beginning to end.

Abstract

POTENTIAL DEVELOPMENT OF WOMAN FARMING GROUP IN THE UTILIZATION OF THE YARD FOR DRUG AND COSMETICS PLANTS USING VERTICAL GARDEN METHOD IN CIBIRU WETAN VILLAGE, BANDUNG REGENCY. The village of Cibiru Wetan is largely a rice field and swidden area with hilly contours and insufficient water availability. One of the utilization of fields with a lack of water is by growing plants that require minimal water, including medicinal plants and cosmetics. The initiation of this activity has a high prospect of success due to the high initiative and participation of the population in the form of women's farmer groups and the family welfare team as evidenced by the many achievements, awards, and skills gained by the Cibiru Wetan Village through the participation of its citizens. Therefore, the purpose of the project activity was socialization and practice at women?s farmer group of Cibiru Wetan Village through the use of medicinal plants and cosmetics with simple appropriate technology through vertical gardening. The method of implementation used in the training program for planting medicinal plants was divided two stage, that was providing information about family medicinal plants ranging from understanding to the benefits of the plants, and the last step was explaining or training and direct practice of planting medicinal plants and cosmetics using vertical planting. The results showed a positive understanding of the two groups of women?s farmer group I and II and the family welfare team, both for the stage of socialization and counseling as well as for the practice phase of planting medicinal plants and cosmetics vertically. The conclusion was the use of medicinal plants and cosmetics could increase the understanding of the target group and the compost produced by residents could be utilized through this activity.

Abstract

INTRODUCTION OF OPEN JOURNAL SYSTEM FOR SCIENTIFIC PUBLICATION OF STUDENTS. This activity is intended to provide understanding for students that according to the latest regulations, students are required to conduct scientific publications. Scientific publications are intended to communicate the results of academic research carried out to contribute to the development of science. However, many students do not understand how to publish their work properly. This training provides material on the ethics of scientific publications and how to submit articles in scientific journals. Students are introduced to ways to find accredited journals in accordance with the field of study. This is done to avoid student publications in predatory journals. As a result of this activity, students understand the business processes of journals for the scientific publication of their work. They also learned that each journal had its own unique style of environment so they had to pay close attention to the author?s guidelines.

Abstract

COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM: THE UTILIZING OF TOFU LIQUID WASTE INTO BIOGAS AT TOFU INDUSTRY OF PAK MIN, JOMBLANGAN, BANGUNTAPAN, YOGYAKARTA. The industry tofu of Pak Min is a home industry with four employees which produces 200 kg of tofu every day and generates 50 kg of liquid wastes per day. The problem that  is faced by the industrial owner is the lack of knowledge in handling liquid wastes. The disposal of waste is only discharged  into a river which results in buildup of liquid paddles on the ground surface and environmental pollution. Therefore, the objectives of this program were to socialize the hazard and management  process of tofu waste and to provide the training to convert tofu liquid waste into biogas.

Abstract

SOCIALIZATION AND EDUCATION ON THE UTILIZATION OF BANANA SKIN WASTE AS ANTIOXIDANT-RICH NATURAL FACE MASKS IN MARPOYAN DAMAI DISTRICT, PEKANBARU. The fact at this time is the increasing level of consumer consumption of beauty products. It does not only occur among adult women but also teenager. But the consumptive level not accompanied by purchasing power of quality products. Based on interviews with residents of the village of East Sidomulyo, most of the citizens are among adult women and teenagers that they mostly use ready-made masks that are sold in the market because it is more practical and faster in the process of use without considering the possibility of its contents which are harmful to skin health. The problem of the partners is to encourage service in the form of socialization and education to the local community to be able to take advantage of the banana peel waste that is widely available in the environment because it is now became popular a variety of processed banana products, but in terms of waste has not been utilized at all. This education is based on several studies that banana peels contain high antioxidants so it is very good if it can be processed as a mask for a facial skin care. In addition, the utilization of waste will be able to reduce pollution that might occur in the environment due to banana peels that are not treated. The existence of this activity was very welcomed by residents, this can be seen from the enthusiasm of residents asking questions regarding the problems presented and the impression of some residents who want this activity to be carried out continuously, so that more people feel the benefits and they are very enthusiastic to directly apply the knowledge.

Abstract

CAPACITY BUILDING AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT OF THE KERUPUK BALOK INDUSTRY THROUGH A COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM IN BUKIT PENINJAUAN II VILLAGE, SUKARAJA DISTRICT, SELUMA DISTRICT, BENGKULU. Bukit Peninjau II Village, Sukaraja Subdistrict, Seluma Regency, has very good potential for the development of small industries, especially home industries in the food sector. One of the small industries in Bukit Peninjauan II Village is the block cracker processing industry which was started in 1995 and currently has 8 business units, including the Usaha Maju and the Raos Echo Community. The team together with partners agreed on several issues faced by partners, including the lack of knowledge (soft skills) and skills mastered by partners regarding product diversification technology, packaging techniques, production equipment and knowledge about financial management. The aim of the Community Partnership Program is to improve partners' skills in the field of product diversification, improvement of packaging and labeling techniques, application of drying system mechanization technology, and increasing partner knowledge in the field of financial management of small industries. The results of the activity show that the product of processed cracker diversification has been formed in the Usaha Maju and the Raos Echo Community, with 3 variants namely original, spinach and carrots crackers. Furthermore, improvements have also been made to the quality of packaging and labeling, through training and providing assistance with labeling equipment. To overcome the problem of drying which has so far been using sunlight, the team provided cabinet drying assistance to the two partners.

Abstract

INCREASED KNOWLEDGE ABOUT DESMINOREA GYMNASTICS TO REDUCE PAIN IN HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN DENPASAR CITY. Menstrual pain or dysmenorrheal is a physical disorder that is often felt by women every menstruation. Dysmenorrheal is often reported to interfere with daily activities. The incidence of dysmenorrheal shows that the experience of dysmenorrheal is mostly experienced by adolescents, including adolescent in high school. To reduce the menstrual pain every menstruation requires sufficient knowledge and understanding of the actions that can be done to reduce menstrual pain, one of them is dysmenorrheal exercises. This activity aims to provide education about dysmenorrheal exercises used to reduce menstrual pain. The method used is to provide health education about menstrual pain and training about dysmenorrheal exercise. Before and after counseling pre test and post test. The results of counseling showed an increase in teenagers understanding of dysmenorrheal exercise to reduce menstrual pain, from 52.5% to 80%. Based on these results it is expected that teenagers are able to practice dysmenorrheal exercises to reduce menstrual pain.

Abstract

MAKING AND TESTING OF SKEWERS CUTTING MACHINES. In Indonesia there are more than 100 types of bamboo that can be used by craftsmen, one of which is skewers. Skewers are promising commodities for business opportunities. The process of producing skewers are started from cutting down the bamboo, cutting bamboo, splitting bamboo, shriveling bamboo to become a stick skewer after that is done cutting the skewer sticks, drying sticks, polishing the sticks skewers and chopping sticks. The process of cutting a stick skewer which is done at this time is still using a simple tool, so the results are bad and the cutting time is very long. To maintain the quality of the results of a good stick skewer sticks and to increase the productivity of the stick skewers, the process of producing and testing of a skewer stick cutting machine is done. The method to produce a skewer stick cutting machine is done by designing the tool, determining the material to be used then making it. This skewer stick cutting machine is made with a press system and vertical cutting directions. From the results of testing the skewer stick cutting machine obtained that the quality of skewer cutting is good and the time required to cut is only 10 seconds. the difference is about 50 seconds faster than the hand saws used, so as to increase the productivity of the skewer sticks. The cutting machine was impelemented at home industry at Sidomulyo of South Lampung. Using the machine has increased productity and also quality of skewers.

Abstract

ABSTRACT: COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT THROUGH RURAL LITERACY MOVEMENT IN CIMANGGU VILLAGE, BANDUNG BARAT DISTRICT. The community in Cimanggu Village, Bandung Barat Regency has a low literacy culture. This is due to various factors starting from the factor of the village government that does not support the literacy movement aimed at policy instruments, the cultural factors of the community who regard literacy as not a necessity and the factors that come from academics who do not disseminate information about the importance of literacy. Based on the above problems, the students of Cimahi School of Public Administration (STIA Cimahi) in the community engagement service launched a program in the form of rural literacy movement. To realize this, various activities were carried out starting from visits to village governments to encourage literacy policies at the village level. Conducting counselling to the community about the importance of literacy. Conducting literacy activities in children`s play environment that encourage children to make literacy activities a necessity and culture, as well as renovating a library in the village to make it easier for the community to access literacy infrastructure in the village.
