Abstract

The study of the audience is one of the key studies in communication science. Audience studies are growing along with the development of communication technology itself, from face to face communication to the use of digital technologies in communications. The audience can not be separated from its context as a member of society and social environment. Therefore it can be understood that many factors influence the process of framing the audience (frames) an issue of the media, not only from personal knowledge and experience possessed by individual audience itself, but also other factors of the environment such as the opinion of a reference group in which the individual also be part of technology use in accessing the media. The process of forming a frame issue in the minds of the audience referred to as the process of framing by the audience (audience framing).

Abstract

Conflict occurs between two or more parties with different interests. Media related to conflict. The ability of the media to influence public opinion is the biggest element in the relationship between media with conflict. The media in this context can be a party that sparked the conflict but could also act as resolutor conflict. Media as a provocateur when play became an arm of one of the conflicting parties, while a conciliator conflict when showing neutrality and information that tends to peace (peace narrative). And theoretical studies should be conducted searches empirical facts on this subject, to clarify the position, the position and role of media in conflict situations. The results can also be used to see the extent to which the media contribute to creating conditions of public space and democratic deliberative. Against this, the choice to stick with journalism be the most appropriate choice for the media in an effort to maintain its position as an agent of democracy in society.

Abstract

Multiculturalism brings blessing and a negative potential. Blessed are the guidelines to respect the identity and rights of every community. Negative potential appears when the award is meant as a legitimacy to the arrogance of certain communities. This multicultural society dilemma accompany growth and development of Community Radio in Indonesia. On the one hand, the community is responding positively presence as a grassroots media speaker. But on the other hand, these conditions led some groups to disseminate the ideology of the group through the use of publicly owned frequencies. If the other side is more prominent, the potential for conflict between groups also became stronger.

Abstract

Power works in a network where each actor in it is always in a position of power to run and run. Power can not be owned, but circulated, disseminated each other, and exchanged in a wide distribution network. Each of these actors want to remain in the circulation of inter-and intra network so as to follow the current is to survive. Decentralization efforts the network has changed the balance of political power. However, forms of social network communication technology today, although it has tremendous value to be used as power and political consolidation, also risk a backlash. Decentralized system that exists today, in some ways has a crack and centralized, in some aspects still looks centralized: they are too vulnerable to state retaliation and control.

Abstract

This article is based on research into intercultural communication competence Bangka ethnic Chinese business relations with ethnic Malay Bangka. Interesting phenomenon of the existence of ethnic Chinese Bangka and business activity is related to the reaction shown by an ethnic Chinese as willing as this ethnic group dominant culture that is ethnic Malay Bangka like learning a language, dress etiquette, talking, hanging out with the group leaning Malay culture, thereby minimizing differences in cultural backgrounds brought by minority individuals. What was achieved ethnic Chinese and Malays Bangka Bangka be seen as something that is formed from the learning process, from the longexperience, delivered and learned through interaction in the family and the environment.

Abstract

Democratization of communication, is the starting point of mass media in promoting the achievement of a prosperous information society. But the problem, is not easy to build a democratic ideal. Because a number of people within the government still puts power in response to the message - the message conveyed by the media. On the other hand, there are still investors who interpret that identic democracy with freedom of action which is detrimental to the business is run. But democracy barriers associated with reporting transparency could have emerged from people who prefer introversion past due jargon about harmony and alignment.

Map business services banking services fickle demands creativity public relations in providing the best service to its customers get a good image.
