Abstract

21st century mathematics learning is learning that refers to the four learning characters formulated in 4C, namely communication, collaboration, critical thinking and problem solving, creativity and innovation. One important aspect that needs to be improved is mathematical communication skills. This can be seen from the results of initial observations that the mathematical communication skills of students are still relatively low. This type of research is classroom action research with the aim to improve students' mathematical communication skills through the cooperative learning model gallery walk type. The research subjects were 32 students of semester V offering 2017 2017 State University of Malang 2019/2020 academic year. The material used is the limit function and derived functions. The results showed that the mathematical ability test scores in cycle I and cycle II were 69.6 and 78.1. The percentage of students who completed the first cycle and the second cycle was 67.5% and 80%. Based on the results of Cycle I and Cycle II, it can be seen that studying with a gallery walk type cooperative learning model can improve the mathematical communication skills of semester V students offering E 2017 2017 State University of Malang 2019/2020 academic year.

Abstract

In this research, the writer analyzes about students' mathematical comprehension skill. The aim of this research is to know students' mathematical comprehension skill at trigonometry lesson especially in quantity and two angles deviation session. The indicator in this research are students' computational comprehension skill and functional comprehension skill. The type of the research is descriptive qualitative research by using test interview and documentation as the data collection technique. The subject of the research are 34 students of XI Science Education Class 6 MA N 1 Semarang. The result are: (1) computational comprehension skill 81.25% is included to understand category. This case shows that some students have understood the use of the formula and the appropriate concept. (2) Functional comprehension skill 86.02% is included to very understand. Most of students have understood the questions and students are able to connect the questions with the other concepts. The results of interviews with students showed that there were some students who stated that they were still confused when they encountered questions that were slightly different from the examples or those taught, but some students had no difficulty in completing the test questions given.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there are differences in mathematics learning achievement in students who use the Missouri Mathematics Project model and students who use the direct learning model in terms of initial abilities. The study population was conducted in class VII students of SMP Negeri 19 Tegal in the 2018/2019 school year. Sampling using cluster random sampling. Calculation of normality test, homogeneity, and one-way ANOVA test shows that the sample is normally distributed, homogeneous and has an equal sample. Before the hypothesis test, the hypothesis prerequisite test is normality and homogeneity. From the calculations, the samples are normally distributed and homogeneous. Testing continues using the RAK, from the statistical results, there are differences in mathematics learning achievement among students who are taught using the Missouri Mathematics Project model and students who use the direct learning model in terms of initial ability

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran Diskursus Multy Reprecentasy dan yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvesional pada materi bilangan bulat di kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Ciniru. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian eksperimen. Sampel penelitian dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrument pengumpulan data berupa tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Teknik analisis data terdiri dari teknik pengujian prasyarat analisis menggunakan uji normalitas dan homogenitas, sedangkan teknik pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ada perbedaan kemampuan matematis pada materi bilangan bulat antara siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran Diskursus Multy Reprecentasy dan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvesional.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the representation ability by using generative learning models in 31 state junior high school in Palembang. The method used in this study is a Quasi experimental design with Randomized pretest-posttest, with a sample consisting of class VII.1 as an experimental class taught with generative learning model adan class VII.2 as a control class taught with a convensional learning model. Data analysis techniques in this study used N-gain and Independent sample t-test analysis. The result of this study indicate that there is an increase in the mathematical representation ability of students who get generative learning models with a N-gain of 0.70 than those who get conventional learning models with a N-gain  of 0,38 in 31 state junior high schools in Palembang.

Abstract

This research is driven by the condition of junior high school students in agricultural area of Kabupaten Bandung that shows the mathematical representation abilities of a number of students are still low and they are less motivated to learn mathematics. It is due to the ability of each student in mathematics is not the same and they feel that mathematics learned in school is not used in everyday life, thus impacting on their lack of motivation to learn mathematics. So that students? mathematical representation abilities can be improved, this research needs to be done. This study aims to determine the differences in increasing students?mathematical representation between those who obtain ethnomathematics learning with the application of Mozart effect (PEM), and students who obtain direct learning (PL). This study used a quasi experimental non equivalent control group design for the 8th grade students of SMPN 1 Bojongsoang, Kabupaten Bandung. The results showed that there were differences in mathematical representation abilities between students who obtained ethnomathematics learning by applying Mozart effect, and students who obtained direct learning. The conclusion of this study is that learning ethnomathematics with the application of the Mozart effect can improve students' mathematical representation abilities.

Abstract

Educational city Bukittinggi has some Senior High School (SMA) and they are potential.  Learning process is doing well but not optimal yet. Mathematics teacher find the difficulties in build, solve and interprete mathematical models based and real world problem. In other case, it is one of the mathematics learning objectives for SMA. This case gives the negative impact. If teacher knows the models of a problem, she/he will use in explaining the lessson, so that the students find the benefit  of that mathematical concept. One way to solve this problem is give a workshop to teacher to construct mathematical model based on the real world context. In workshop teacher are teached how to model it, oriented to mathematical modelling. The objective of this workshop to help SMA mathematical teacher to model the real world problem, so that the problem solved. Workshop do with several analysis, they are analysis of need, orientation and discussion. Result that teacher reach are they are motivated to study how to model mathematical problem and they understand how to model it.

Abstract

The research was conducted to learn about the effect of effective learning behavior on students cognitive-psychomotor skills in class IX mathematics learning at MTs Ash-Shiddiqiyyah Sumber Cirebon. This method of research is quantitative research. The population of this research is composed of all students of class IX MTs Ash-Shiddiqiyyah, The sample of this research is class IX B with a total of 24 students taken from Cluster Random Sampling. The data collection techniques used are 2, ie questionnaires for effective behavioral data and test data for the cognitive-psychomotor skills of students. The technique of data analysis for hypothesis testing is a simple regression analysis technique. The result of this research shows that the result of t-count = 7.522 is greater than t-table = 0.404 so it means that there is an influence between an effective learning behavior towards the ability cognitive-psychomotor of the student in mathematics

Abstract

This study aims to see the improvement of problem solving abilities of mathematical students of smp with the model of assisted PBL Geometers Sketchpad, this study is quasi experimental because in this study subjects are not grouped randomly, but researchers accept the state of the subject as it aims to see the improvement of problem-solving skills and the ability of mathematical reasoning with PBL-aided model of Geometers Sketchpad. The population of this study is all students of class VIII SMPN 2 Sindangagung Kuningan, the sample of the study is a class VIII students as much as two classes. The study consisted of two groups, the group with the learning of PBL with Geometers Sketchpad and the group with conventional learning. Each group consists of thirty students. Research data were collected through problem-solving test, and observation. Data analysis is done qualitatively and quantitatively. Quantitative analysis was done by using t-test and nonparametric Mann-Whitney. Qualitative analysis is done by observing the observation data. From the plot diagram it can be seen that problem solving ability is increased in students with low category. The results of this study are (1) Improved problem-solving abilities that obtained a better learning model than students who received regular learning

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze about contextual approach to improve understanding ability in senior high school Bakti Utama. The population in this research is XI grade senior high school in Bandung Barat. This study was designed qualitative descriptive method. Based on the results and discussion students understanding ability had improved.
