Abstract

Fishing port has very important role toward the development of marine fisheries, since fishing port is the economic center from landed fish until the fish to be marketed in the port. The purpose of this study was to determine how far the strategic role of the fishing port to the development of marine fisheries and fishing industries through qualitative descriptive methods. Fishing port as a center of economic activity of fishing in Indonesia, the conditions are very limited. Currently the number of fishing ports incomparable to vast potential of fisheries and the vast marine areas especially in eastern Indonesia. The condition of existing facilities at fishing port most unfit or sub-standard so it is difficult to expect domestic and foreign investors to come invest. Undeveloped fishing port in Indonesia is also due to weak management capabilities along with weak policy support and legal instruments. The strategic role of fishing port to marine fisheries would still not optimal. It indicated, among others, are still not done with good handling of the catch in the fishing port which result in decreased quality and selling price; still not companies that invest in industrial processing because of limited facilities and poor management and availibility of raw materials that are not continoues

Abstract

Family Atherinidae was caught mostly by beach seine method. Persentage of individu was caught 51,98 % from all catch. Habitat of Atherinidae is in sandy beach and they usually do scholling. Spesies was mostly found in Bangka Island is Gerres oyena (Gerranidae). Dwelling of this spesies is in sandy beach. This research was done on sandy beach as habitat of Gerres oyena. Diversity index of this research is 1,155. It shows that diversity of fish are low. Seagrass was discoverd on seabed of research location partially. Seagrass have function as nursery and feeding ground by fish. So that fish can be assossiated on seagrass as its dwell. Part of seabed reseach location is sandy with a lesser amount of seagrass. It cause diversity of fish become low. Nevertheless, On 1st and 2nd research location, ship of tin mining and floating mining boat were operated. Both activity are suspended solid source on water. It initiates high turbidity

Abstract

Abstract

Mineral requirements in humans can be obtained by eating food derived from vegetable or animal. One of the foodstuffs from animal that can contribute for mineral availability in green mussels. The purposes of this study were to determine the types and amounts of macro and micro minerals in green mussel, determine the solubility of Ca, Fe, Zn, and Se in green mussels with three cooking methods (boiling, frying and roasting) and recommend to the public the best way of cooking to obtain mineral nutrient content. In preliminary study conducted proximate analysis includes the moisture content, ash, fat, protein and carbohydrates, and total macro and micro minerals. In further research, green mussel samples that had cooked (boiling, toasting, and baking), were analyzed the solubility of minerals. The highest macro mineral content of the green mussel was sodium content, while the micro minerals of green mussel was selenium. Cooking that gave mineral reduction of at least up to the biggest decline in a row which is the method of cooking by boiling, roasting and frying. Frying reduced mineral content up to 80% while boiling and roasting up to 59% and 69%

Abstract

Crude oil pollution in the sediments of Balongan, Indramayu are harmful to marine ecosystems. Thus it is necessary to ameliorate with bioremediation method using bacteria. The aim of this research is to know its degradation level by Alcanivorax sp. TE-9 and they may reveal the effectiveness of Alcanivorax sp. TE-9 bacteria to degrade the crude oil. Research method was in the batch culture system. Crude oil was measured using gravimetric method and oil consentration was measured using GC/MS performed for four weeks. The result of this research show that in the 28 days of analysis show oil were degraded by Alcanivorax sp. TE-9 whereas 52.923% crude oil and control 20.04%. Bacterial growth and degradation of the oil producing trend along. Bacteria that have the highest growth, will also produce high levels of degraded oil. This indicates the oil has been exploited as a source of carbon to produce energy and growth of bacteria
