Abstract

Community learning center (PKBM) tutors should have professional pedagogic, personal and social competencies. This study aimed at investigating whether the tutors in PKBM Miftahul Jannah, East Jakarta  have such competencies. This study also investigated the learners. achievement . A survey using questionnaire was conducted for that purpose. This study reveals that the tutors have such competencies whereas the learners' achievement vary. This study also provides suggestions to improve the tutors quality.

Abstract

Symbiotic programs provide alternative solutions to improve the quality of educators and teachers of non-formal education through the cooperation of mutual assistance between them. The programs provide a positive reciprocity between students majoring in Early Childhood Education and the teachers of Early Childhood Education in schools. The programs are conducted in the form of exchanging the theory and application of various knowledge of child education, media development, and "how to teach" development. Symbiotic programs provide a lot of positive value in improving the quality of teachers of early childhood education to increase their knowledge, skills, abilities, and expertise as educators as well as early childhood

Abstract

The objective of this research is to find out the effect of leadership style, knowledge of the basic principles of non-formal education, and work motivation on organizational commitment of Community Learning Centre (CLC) Managers in Jakarta. This research was conducted in DKI Jakarta, on March to August 2009. The data was collected from 85 managers as sample and selected by simple random sampling . The result of this research are as follows: (1). The leadership style of CLC managers has direct effect on work motivation; (2). knowledge about of basic principles of non-formal education has direct effect on work motivation; (3). Work motivation has direct on organizational commitment of CLC managers; (4). The leadership style has direct effect on organizational commitment of CLC managers; (5). Knowledge about of basic principles of non-formal education has direct effect on organizational commitment of CLC managers; (6). The leadership style of CLC managers has indirect effect on organizational commitment of CLC managers, Through work motivation and (7) Knowledge about of the basic principles of non- forma/ education has indirect effect on organizational commitment of CLC managers through work motivation. Therefore, it could be concluded that the increasing of or decreasing of organizational commitment effected directly or indirectly by leadership style, knowledge about the basic principle of Non Formal Education and work motivation. This conclusion implies that when we want to improve the organizational commitment, we have to take into consideration those three variables, leadership style, knowledge about the basic principle of non formal education and work motivation as well.

Abstract

This research aimed to find out the influence of competence-based education and training (CbET) and motivation on the performance of civil service. This research was conducted from November 2008 to April 2009 at Dinas Ketrentaman dan Ketertiban DKI jakarta. A quasi method using stratified cluster random sampling was applied to involve 80 civil service out of 8000 members. The result of this study shows that (1) motivation influences the civil service's performance, (2) the form of CBET influences the civil service's performance; (3) the interaction between the training model and the motivation determines variations in civil service's performance; (4) there are differences between those who join CBET and those who do not. Those who join CBET have higher motivation to perform better. It is expected that these research findings can be used as a guidance to produce a new concept and strategy in education development and training for civil service.

Abstract

This study aims at finding out how far the English Package C curriculum meets the Package C learnerS needs Of English to pass the national examination (UN) and identify whether the learners* needs in learning listening, speaking, reading, and writing, skills are acommodated by he curriculum. The subjects Of the Study were 27 learners of Package C Program, consisting of 7 Terampil learners and 20 Mahir learners at the Community Learning Center (PKBM) 33 Malaka, East Jakarta. Questionnaires and interviews were conducted to get the data. The study revealed that the curriculum contents, though not complete, could accommodate most of the Package C learners' needs to learn reading, writing, listening and speaking skills although the tutor did not teach all the four skills. It was also found that the learners had some expectations: they needed more time to practice the four language skills in class, and sufficient teaching aids to SUDDort the Jearning-teaching process so that the learning would be more efficient.

Abstract

Policy for non formal education educators and personnel program (pamong belajar and penilik) covered on national education regulations. The objective of this policy analysis is to find out the substance and consistency of policy implementation for non formal education educators and personnel (pamong belajar and penilik). This study analyse the national, provincial and district government level policy on nonformal education educators and personnel on national level. This study concludes that the policy of nonformal education not comprehensif educators and personnel in national, provincial and district lever are not yet consistent.

Abstract

The instruction ofP4 was found not satisfactory to meet the instruction objectives employing the traditional ,nuuel. lt71S research developed a creative model for P4 instruction particularly for life skills using descriptive methods. Instruments to collect data included check list, evaluation sheets for tryout and implementation. After try out process and revision, this research could developed P4 Instruction Model for Life Skill to Produce Mushroom. This mode/ has been able to solve the instructional problems in UPTD SKB in Bekasi District.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to know the correlation between tutuor's performance and the learner's motivation. The study was conducted at the Learning Center of Nurul Fikri in Petukangan, South Jakarta as from July through November 2008. The population covered 115 with 50 learners selected by cluster technique. The data were collected by using questionairs, observation, and document study. Employing correlation formula of Rank Spearman, the study proved the positive correlation between tutor's performance and learner's learning motivation. Besides this study also indicated the tutor's low performance in instructional process, and the tutor's poor knowledge in tutor's functions and competencies. The study also provides a set of recommendations to improve the tutor's performance.

Learning civil competency improvement is needed in order to support implementation of the basic task. Educators on Learning as a civil nonformaJ channels also need to learn. This requires a systematic and continuous efforts to innovate learning for Civil Education. one of them is by using e-learning programs for the improvement of civil competence study. Need to be prepared carefully to develop e-learning, that can be utilized by the Civil Learning.

Abstract

Mathematics is a boring and difficult subject for many learners. The situation challenges mathematics tutors to look for the solution and to change the learners perception about mathematics — from a frightening subject to an interesting one. Learning mathematics through games is one of the solutions. Games is a creative method that can help to create a more enjoyable atmosphere for the learners to study mathematics. Games also helps the learners memorize better than that of the other methods because the learners are not only passive listeners but they are more involved in the learning.
