Abstract

Musculoskeletal problems are complaints on the parts of the skeletal muscles felt by someone start complaints very mild to very sick. When the muscle receives static load repeatedly and for a long time will may cause complaints of damage to the joints, ligaments and tendons. Complaints to the damage this is what is usually termed the complaint musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) or injury to the musculoskeletal system (Grandjean, 1993; Lemasters, 1996). This study aims to know a more effective treatment of electrotherapy and deep massage with massage than picking up, in reducing pain in patients with musculoskeletal pain complaints. This study used a quasi-experimental design (quasi experimental) double blind with a value of 5% negligent. This research was conducted at the Rumah Fisio Clinic and Patient’s home. These samples included 25 patients, with medical diagnosis of musculoskeletal pain who underwent physiotherapy program from May to July 2016, was taken by randomization techniques. Pain was measured by using Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). The results of the analysis of the t test showed that electrotherapy and deep massage (mean = 3.18) more effective than Picking up (mean = 2) in reducing the patients pain..Keywords: Musculoskeletal pain , electrotheraphy , deep massage , picking up.

Abstract

A study has been conducted to test the use of electric fields to lower blood sugar levels on rats with type II Diabetes Mellitus. This study uses male rats (Rattus novergicus), aged 8-12 weeks weighing 150-200 grams, with a total of 31 rats. Therapy was conducted by putting rats in a chamber that emits an electric field every day for 1 hour for 28 days. To search for the optimum frequency of the treatment, frequency variations of 15, 30, 60, and 120 kHz were given. The electrical charge distribution of the air in the room was then measured, whereas mice blood sugar levels were also measured to reveal the effect of the treatment on cell tolerance to sugar, and to come up with the measurement of insulin levels at the end of the treatment. The results of measurements of the electrical charges in the air were very significant generally showing that the treatment with a frequency of 15 to 120 KHz for 4 weeks in the experimental animals could lower their blood sugar (fasting period), but the success rate significantly occurred at a frequency of 15 kHz. The decrease in fasting blood sugar levels after the treatment was probably due to the influence of the treatment (the influence of an electric field) that improved the regulation of insulin receptors. Improvements in the regulation of insulin receptor activities with high gluconeogenesis may be the cause of a decrease in fasting blood sugar levels that is not accompanied by improved cell tolerance to sugar. Keywords: Electric Field, blood sugar levels, insulin levels

Abstract

Management Of Activity Therapy In Activities Using Bra With Bobath Concept In Stroke Patients Hemiparesis Synthesis In Clinical Sasana Husada. Stroke is brain attack due to vascular injury that can damage the brain permanently because of neurologist disorder. The purpose of this intervention is to improve patients ability to wear bras according to Occupation Therapys view. The method that will be used to improve the patient ability who suffer from function disorder, movement, and control due to the lesion in the central nerve system is Bobath Concept. By giving eight times intervention, it can be seen that there is improvement postural control and less pain in the shoulder area when it moved. The result of this shows that there is no improvement yet in patient ability wearing bra because of fracture experienced by the patient. Keywords: Occupational Therapy, Stroke, Bras, Shoulder, Bobath Concept

Abstract

Aeromoniasis is a bacterial disease caused by Aeromonas hydrophila that affects fish and shrimps in ponds and aquariums. This is an ulcer disease that causes petechiae in scales of fish and may be fatal. It can cause economic loss if it is not treated with medication accompanied with improved sanitation. It affects numerous freshwater fish farms in East Java. A previous study has characterized an antigenic protein derived from the outer membrane protein of A. hydrophila. In order to perform sequencing of the DNA coding for this protein, we first conducted a study for isolating DNA fragments of A. hydrophila via four stages: cultivation and harvesting of bacterial cells, cell lysis, DNA purification, and the concentration of chromosomal DNA. The results will be used as a predictive immunogenic determinant by the method by Kolaskar and Tongaonkar. Keywords: Aeromonas hydrophila, chromosomal DNA, immunogenic determinant

Abstract

Background : Ultrasonography (US) is the cheaper and non invasive modality to determine Achilles tendon. Prone position is the standart position of Achilles tendon US. However, it is a discomfort for an uncooperative patient and a difficult technique too. The erect position is an alternative technique of Achilles tendon US. The goal of this study is to compare the erection as an alternative position with prone as a standart position.Material and Methode: The patient who had an injury or any inflamation process of Achilles tendon were excluded. The patient underwent two positions of Achilles tendon US, 900 and dorsoflexi. Longitudinal axis measured tendon thickness and a transversal axis which covered a cross-sectional area of the tendon.Result: From all the 21 patients coming, 13 patients were males (61,9%), and eight patients were females (38,1%). The mean of tendon thickness and cross-sectional area in 900 prone positions were 4,24±0,24 mm, 30,08±2,86 mm, respectively. The mean of tendon thickness and cross-sectional area in 900 erect positions were 4,27±0,23 mm, 31,36±2,19 mm, respectively. There was no anisotropy effect during longitudinal axis examination. Conclusion: We found that there were no significant differences between a prone and erect position (p<0.05). The erect postion could be an alternative position, uncooperative patient in particular, without reducing the diagnostic value. Keywords: Achilles tendon the US, erect position, prone position, tendon thickness, cross-sectional area

Abstract

Physiotherapy Management In Post Op Reconstruction Anterior Cruciate Ligament Sinistra Grade III Due To Rupture In RSPAD Gatot Soebroto. Therefore the role of physiotherapy is very important in optimizing the motion and function in patients with post op reconstruction Anterior Cruciate Ligament sinistra Grade III due to Rupture. Physiotherapy may begin on the first day after reconstruction, the exercises being performed depending on the phases based on the day after reconstruction of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament rupture are performed.Based on the above explanation, the authors raised cases after reconstruction of Anterior Cruciate Ligament rupture as the final task implementation. The case discussed is the condition of a patient of Post Op Reconstruction Anterior Cruciate Ligament Sinistra Grade III due to Rupture at Central Hospital of Gatot Subroto. Keywords: Physiotherapy, Anterior Cruciate Ligament Sinistra, Rupture
