Abstract

This study aims to produce an encyclopedia of biological laboratory equipment and to find out the feasibility of the encyclopedia of biological laboratory equipment developed as a biology learning resource for high school students. This study included research and development (R & D) using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) developed by Reiser and Mollenda in the 1990s. This research is limited only to the implementation stage (limited or small scale implementation), then limited testing is conducted to 1 material expert, 1 media expert, 2 biology teachers and 4 peer reviewers and 20 students' responses to the product developed to determine the quality/feasibility of the product. The research instrument was in the form of a check list questionnaire using a Likert scale. The design of this study uses a descriptive qualitative research design with the type of data in the form of qualitative and quantitative data to determine the quality/feasibility of the product being developed. the results showed that: encyclopedia products of biology laboratory equipment were developed with the ADDIE model. The quality/feasibility of the encyclopedia is developed based on the assessment of material experts with a percentage of 80% including the good category (B); media experts at 85.6% including the excellent category (SB); biology teachers at 91% including the excellent category (SB); peer reviewers at 86.8% including the excellent category (SB); and student responses of 87.6% included very feasible categories. Thus it can be concluded that the encyclopedia of biological laboratory equipment developed having very decent quality is used as a reference for teachers in biology laboratory as well as can be used by high school students as one of the learning resources of biology.

Abstract

The function of education is to prepare students through a process that takes place before students are ready to work in real life. The strategy for implementing education is carried out in the form of guidance, teaching and training activities. In line with that  national education must be able to guarantee equal opportunities for education, improvement in quality, and efficiency of education management. Improving the quality of education is directed at improving the quality of Indonesian people as a whole through cognitive, affective aspects, and psychomotor aspects. The purpose of the study was to determine the problems of teachers and students in the problem-based learning model with the use of Liquid Crystal Display Media on the results of Biology Science. The design of this study uses quasi experimental. Based on observations and interviews with Biology Science teachers that students tend to remain silent in class, pay less attention to teachers, play with their peers so that the average cognitive learning value results are 63.50%. Based on the results of interviews with students, information was obtained that the teacher had been giving a woman a monotonous method, namely lecture and lack of interaction with students so that some students felt they did not understand the material.

Abstract

Nasturtium adalah tumbuhan dari famili Cruciferae (Brassicaceae). Tumbuhan ini sebenarnya bukan tumbuhan asli Indonesia dan merupakan salah satu sayuran musim dingin. Selada air (Nasturtium sp.) adalah tumbuhan invasif yang sering digunakan sebagai sayuran atau salad. Selada air memiliki banyak sekali kandungan nutrisi dan senyawa yang berkhasiat sebagai obat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakter morfologi selada air (Nasturtium sp.) di Kabupaten Batang. Sampel diambil di Desa Deles, Kecamatan Bawang, Kabupaten Batang, dengan metode purposive random sampling. Karakter morfologi yang diamati meliputi karakter morfologi secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa selada air di Kabupaten Batang adalah spesies Nasturtium officinale W. T. Aiton.

Abstract

Orchid is one ofthe flowering plants with a very high level of diversity, including the diversity of morphological characters it has. This study aims to determine the diversity of orchids (orchidaceae) seen morphologically in the Ngalian sub-district forest in Semarang city. The method used in this study is cruise method and characterization techniques. Analysis of research data was carried out descriptively and displayed in the form of tables and photos. Orchids in the teak forest cover 940 ha, spread in 4 villages, namely Wonosari village, Gondoriyo village, Podorejo village and Wates village. The results showed that there were 3 types of orchid plants (orchidaceae). The types of orchids include Rhynchostylis retusa (L.) Bi., Rhynchostylis gigantea (Lindl.) Rindl. and Dendrobium crumenatum (L.) Sw. The diversity of morphological characters in each species of orchid such as diversity in leaf color, leafshape, leaftip shape, stem color, root type etc.

Abstract

This needs analysis aims to determine the problems that occur in Biology learning activities at SMAN1 Anggana. Application of learning models that suit students' needs. The research sample in this analysis is a class X student at SMAN 1 Anggana. The results of the observations showed that as many as 50.00% of the students' daily daily test results used the lecture method. This is because several things include students not paying attention to the teacher during the learning process, students playing with their peers, and monotonous learning. The teacher states that students tend not to ask questions in learning. In addition, the problem that is also faced is that there are still many teachers who apparently have not implemented learning models that can make students more active so students tend to be saturated. The way that can be taken to overcome this problem is by applying the team games tournament (TGT) learning model and the student teams achievement division (STAD). From the observations in the form of analysis of the problems of Biology teachers and students of SMAN 1 Anggana, it can be concluded that the ability of teachers to overcome problems in learning needs to be improved so that students are more active and happy to learn biology.

Abstract

The young generation is a development asset in the future, but many young people do not put their interest in cultivation. Especially the students of MA Manahijul Huda Ngagel who motivated by the low level of student interest on cultivation activities because the perception of students about farming is identical to the soil, dirty, requires a lot of energy, hot-pine under the sun and other things that make students reluctant to plunge In cultivation activities. The purpose of this research is to know the increase of farming interest of MA Manahijul Huda Ngagel Dukuhseti Pati students using hydroponic technology after treatment. The research method used in this research is qualitative by using descriptive analysis. The focus of this research is to focus on the interest of farming students through hydroponics. The data is taken with several methods, among others: observation, interview, questionnaire and documentation. The result of the research shows that the interest of farming students MA Manahijul Huda Ngagel Dukuhseti Pati increased after treatment, seen from the questionnaire value which increased by 6.03% from 79.17 to 85.2 with very good category. Increased interest in farming is also supported by the observation result of 12.4 with good category, interview and documentation that get the same result.

Abstract

Mangrove plant is a local plant that specific roots, because it is generally only found on the beach is relatively small wavy. Mangrove has an important role as a natural shelter of the beach, because it has solid roots that can reduce waves and resist sediment. Bedono is one of the villages in Sayung District, Demak District. This location is chosen as a place of study because it has uniqueness. Mangunharjo Beach was chosen as a research location because it is influenced by chemical factors that have the same tendency, the interaction of land and waves, hence both need to be examined. This study aims to determine the morphological diversity of mangrove plants on the beach of Mangkang Mangunharjo and Bedono Village Demak. This research is an observational research with exploration and field observation technique. Sampling of mangrove plants was conducted at Mangkang Mangunharjo beach in Semarang and Bedono village of Demak. The study was conducted in January - April 2017. The results obtained from this study from Mangkang Mangunharjo Beach are Avicenia marina and Rhizopora mucronata. While 5 species are from Bedono Demak Village: Sonneratia caseolaris, Acanthus ilicofiolis, Rhizopora mucronata, Rhizopora apiculata, and Avicenia marina.
