CANTILEVER merupakan jurnal penelitian dan kajian teknik sipil yang menyajikan hasil-hasil penelitian di bidang struktur, transportasi, pengembangan sumberdaya air, geoteknik, manajemen infrastruktur, dan rekayasa lingkungan serta arsitektur. Cantilever pertama kali diterbitkan pada tahun 2006 dalam versi cetak. Sejak tahun 2015, cantilever diterbitkan baik dalam versi cetak maupun online (e-journal). Jurnal ini dikelola dan diterbitkan oleh Jurusan Teknik Sipil Fakultas Teknik Universitas Sriwijaya. Cantilever terbit 2 (dua) kali dalam setahun, yaitu pada April dan Oktober.

Abstract

The soil plays an important role in a construction site. One type is the soft clay soil that has a value compressibility and high water levels so low soil shear strength that reduce the bearing capacity of the soil. In this study conducted by the method of soil improvement, soil stabilization using a mixture of urea fertilizer with percentage of 5 %, 10 %, and 15 % with a treatment period of 3 , 7, and 14 days with Triaxial test. Soft clay soil samples taken in the area around UNSRI, Inderalaya, OI, South Sumatra. The test results of soil properties, w 35.20 %; 2.53 Gs; PL 21.14 %; LL 42 % and IP 20.86 %. According to the USCS, the soil categorized CL, while according to AASHTO, the soil is categorized class A-7-6. Results of Triaxial testing , the value of cohesion (c) 5 % maximum on the addition of urea fertilizer (14 days) is 1.138 kg /cm2 . While the value of shear angle (f) and shear strength (τ) maximum on the addition of 15 % urea fertilizer (3 days) of 26,42o and 3.93 kg /cm2 .Key Words : Urea Fertilizer, Shear Strength, Triaxial, Soft Clay

Abstract

To fulfilling the demands of irrigation water in the region SWS Barito mostly farming community life is indispensable. Due to the presence of water balance studies in Sub SWS Barito is the basis for preparing the development strategy of water resources, particularly water management in irrigation area as one sub DAS Pitap Barito River. The method used to perform the analysis of the availability of water by using methods Mock and irrigation water needs analysis to see the balance of water in the water supply for paddy in Pitap Irrigation Area. Balance of water in the dam Pitap still insufficient to meet the water demands Pitap irrigation area of 4000 ha.Key Words: water availability, water demand, water balance and irrigation area Pitap

Abstract

Indonesia has a potential of renewable energy resources for mini-hydropower up to 450 MW. The energy resources development in Indonesia refers to Presidential Decree No.5/2006 on National Energy Policy, where the government aims to increase the capacity installed in micro-hydro power plants become 2,846 MW by year 2025. Pagar Alam City is a hilly area with an altitude range of 400 m – 3,400 m above sea level. The topography varies from 0° - 15°, to 45° slope. The average rainfall ranges 1,462 - 5,199 mm per year. In addition, Pagar Alam has several rivers, one of them is Lematang River. These conditions make Pagar Alam supposed to become potential area to develop micro-hydro power plants. This study deals with the planning of a micro-hydro power plant within Lematang River based on engineering and economic aspects. The study was done through several steps, i.e. 1) surveying and collecting data of river discharges, rainfall intensity, climatology parameters, and topographic map; 2) analysis of water availability, 3) hydraulic head analysis, 4) analysis of generated power for micro-hydro power plant, and 5) investment feasibility analysis for the constructions. The results of this study show that the availability of water in the river is 3.076 m3/s, the net hydraulic head is 11.442 m, the generated power is 165 kW for total efficiencies 47.9%, and the annual hydroelectricity production is 1.3 GWh/year. The investment feasibility analysis for the construction indicates that the planning of micro-hydro power plant development is feasible to implement.Key Words: hydropower, green energy, micro-hydro, engineering economics

Abstract

The paper deals with frequency analysis of irreguler framed structures. The analysis used finite element method cast in matrix formulation. Apart from frequency analysis of framed structures that assumed to be of frame with relative rigid floor system, and the mass of structure is lumped at each floor, the analysis adopted consistent mass formulation. To reduce structural degrees of freedom, static condensation and multi-point constraint algorithms where used. The natural frequency resulted out of proposed analysis was then compared to that obtained by assuming rigid floor. The difference was due to the different schemes used in the consideration of inertial mass forces.Key Words: dynamic analysis, finite element method, multi-point constraints, static condensation, natural frequency.

Abstract

This paper discussed the usage of base isolation in the form of leading rubber bearing which is applicated on steel structure of five floor. The analysis is done on steel structure by using base isolation. It is compared with steel structure without base isolation. The usage of base isolation on steel structure with loading earthquake can reduce response structure either displacement, velocity or accelaration.Key Words: base isolation, lead-rubber bearing.

Abstract

Modification technology of castellated beams of Wide Flange beam (I WF) are now varied, starting from addition high beam variation so that moment of inertia larger than origin beam, until the hole dimension variation for the aesthetic and mechanical-electrical installations. In the castellated beams design should be noted weakening effect shear forces and buckling due to the hole modified. This study was to determine the behavior of castellated beam with hexagonal holes dimensional variations using the finite element method. The method in this research is to create a numerical model of the castellated beam 225x75x7x5 mm span of 1 meter with a hexagonal hole openings using the finite element method are verified first by the results of an experimental model. Geometry, material properties and loading both models are the same. After the numerical model results closer to experimental model results, then made 9 other castellated beam numerical models with variations in the dimensions of the hexagonal holes. The results showed that the higher and the wider hole so the larger tensile stress and compressive stress. Deflection is proportional to tensile stress and compressive stress. The smaller the ratio of the hole and holes number so the smaller the shear stress.Key Words: castellated beam, finite element method
