Abstract

The rapid development of knowledge and technology brings learners to innovative things in their lives. Television is one of technologies lead learners to the positive things. For example, television could facilitate learners to study easily and enlarge their horizons. It, however, has a negative effect on learners’ personality. Learners assume that what they watch and listen are absolutely correct. As a result, they do all the things as what they watch. They are failed to filter the positive values on television. In order to anticipate these negative values, teachers should corporate to parents. Parents, for example, could empower leaner’s iman (faith), build their character values, and enrich their ibadah (worship) to God Almighty. By empowering parents, learner’s bad value could be minimized.Kata kunci: media massa, perkembangan, peserta didik

Abstract

This research was motivated by a fact that some of students of mathematics study program at STAIN Batusangkar have low ability in mathematics communication and mathematics disposition on Geometry subject. This is indicated by the students’ inability to answer the questions on mathematics communication. In order to solve this problem, the researcher designed a research on learning strategy using Problem-based in Geometry subject. This research applied experimental method using randomized control group only design. The population of this research was the third semester students registered in 2014/2015 academic year. They consisted of three classes. The data were taken from the final test of each sample. The research findings show that the two hypotheses were accepted. Therefore, students’ ability was better in mathematics communication by applying learning strategy using problem-based than conventional learning. In addition to this, students’ ability was better in mathematics disposition by using learning strategy using problem-based than conventional learning.Kata kunci:    Kemampuan komunikasi, disposisi matematis, dan strategi pembelajaran berbasis masalah

Abstract

Reading is a proses of involving reader’s physics and mental. The purpose of reading is not only to get new information passively but also to comprehend the text actively. In order to get good result in reading, a reader needs to apply various strategies. Kinsella (2000) offers several reading strategies such as PACA, KWL Plus, Outlining, and Concept  Building. Those strategies could be well implemented based on reader’s purpose to read. The ability to apply these strategies could lead someone to be a creative and innovative reader.Key words: Better Understanding, Creative Readers,  Reading strategies

Abstract

One of the strategies of metacognitive introduced by the listening lecturers in listening comprehension III at STAIN Batusangkar is monitoring strategies. It is assumed that these strategies can help students solve their problem in listening comprehension in order to comprehend oral text correctly. The purposes of this research are to investigate what kind of students’ monitoring strategies are used and how they applied it in listening comprehension.The research method was descriptive qualitative.The participants of the research were English students who took listening comprehension III. 91 students were involved as the respondents to answer the questionnaire, and 12 students among them were selected to be interviewed using snowball sampling technique. The data of the research were collected by using questionnaire, interview, and observation. After analizing the data, it was found that most of students used monitoring strategies. These strategies include as: ask if it makes sense, selected attend, deduction, personalizing or contextualizing, taking note, using imagery, self talk, and cooperative strategy. They had applied these strategies in many ways but some of the them did not do it properly. Based on these findings, It can be concluded thatmonitoring strategies used by the students in listening comprehension need to enhance into the correct ways to get better comprehension in listening.Key words: Investigating, Metacognitive strategies, Monitoring strategies, Listening Comprehension

Abstract

Mental revolution is a national movement that could be implemented in many areas including in the field of education. Teachers could implement this movement in order to inject students’ character. One of the strategies to actualize mental revolution in schools is using integrated Islamic teaching. Islamic teaching is not taught separately but must be implemented integratively. The use of integrative Islamic teaching is expected that students comprehend the learning content contextually. The implementation might be done using the integration of Islamic teaching to other subject matters such as civic, sport, art, language and others. It is even could be done the use of the integration of Islamic teaching  to Islamic subject matters such as fiqh, aqidah akhlaq, and Quran hadits. Abstract

According to the real result of the various studying difficulties, which being felt by the client (student), whatever their reasons or motives are very much demand to the guider to take part in looking for the various alternatives in order to help the student resolving those cases through the learning guidance services actively. This activity is in order to create the student’s mental stability and their readiness to promote their aptitude and full participation, especially in learning process (in the class). Abstract

This research generally aims to get brief description of teachers’ understanding aboutnstudents and its implication in learning process. Specifically, the purpose of this research are to get description about: 1) teachers understanding about students and its defferences among variables, 2) the implementation of high touch unsure in learning process according to teachers’ and students and defferences among them, 3) the contribution of teachers, understanding about student toward high touch applied in learning process and, the different response between teachers and students about high touch implementation. This research is conducted by descriptive quantitative method.  The population is all teachers and students at senior high school in Padang. Samples are taken by using stratified cluster random sampling technique. The percentage, correlation and t test. The results of this research reveal that: 1) everall, teachers understanding is in middle category, so is with the implementation toward learning process, 2) five observable variables about the nature of man are valid and can be used to explain teachers’ understanding about the nature of man as laten variable, and six observable variables about high touch implementation as implication of teachers’ understanding about student in learning process. Therefore, teachers understanding about student  has positive and significant correlation with implementation  of teachers’ understanding about nature of man toward learning process trough high touch  implementation, and 3) teachers’ opinion about high touch implementation as implication of teachers’ understanding toward learning process differ significantly with students’ opinion. In general, teachers’ opinion score is higher compared with student’s opinion score.Kata kunci: Pemahaman dan Persepsi Pendidik, Hakekat Kemanusiaan, Lingkungan Psikologis dalam Pembelajaran

Abstract

This research is aimed at investigating the implementation of multi intelligent on Arabic teaching in students’ theses. The data used were students’ thesis which applied experimental and classroom action research design from 2007 up to 2012. The data were then analysed by using Miles and Huberman theory. Based on analysis, it shows implementation of linguistics musical, kinaesthetic, and spatial intelligent was found in sixteen theses. Meanwhile the implementation of logical/mathematical intelligent was found in one theses. Abstract

Based on learning activities observation in human anatomy and fisiology major is low, like pay attention to the lecture, questioning, most of students talking each other, when they did the task the students more choose made in group. Activities learning of student is low because the students didn’t have motivation in learning process, although the lecture has discution metode in learning process. The purpose of this research are to improve activities and student result of the learning. This research had used cooperative learning model with the type is STAD trough mind map in human anatomy and fisiology major.  This research have been done to the students in STKIP. This research are action research that did in two phase. The phase are: Planning, doing, observation, and reflection. The data obtained through observation sheet documentation and test. Data that analysis from activities students and learning result of the students. The result of this research showed the improved of activities and learning result of the students. based on activities learning of student that get from cycluse 1 to the cycluse 2, showed that the increase of activities of the students like pre test( 98%) and post test (100%) with very good category in cycluse 1. In cycluse 2 become 5 activities like pre test (98%), looking to the lecture (93%), active to followed the discution (88%), making mind map (90%), followed post test (100%) with very good category. Result of learning in cycluse 1 just 52%, in cycluse 2 increased and become 83%. Based on the result that been concluded using cooperative learning model type of STAD through mind map in  human anatomy and fisiology major can increase activities and result learning of the students.Kata kunci: Kooperatif STAD, Mind Map, Aktivitas, Hasil Belajar, Siklus
