Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of using Spray Extract Leucaena Leaf (Leucaena leucocephala) on dogs with Tick Rhipicephalus sanguineus. The method used is an experimental design with Group Random Design (GRD), with the number of sample 8 dogs of different ages and sex. Samples were divided into four treatments and two replications. Data analysis techniques used in this study is the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), with an examination of macroscopic was conducted by observing the amount and time of death Ticks Rhipicephalus Sanguineus in dogs were carried out on the day of observation 7th, 14th and 21st. The results of the study with α = 5% concluded that: (1) Based on the results of one way ANOVA test in the experimental group, showed that the influence of leaf extract dose leuceana to the number of ticks deaths; Based on the observation time, there is the influence of observation time to the number of ticks. (2) F count > F table = 129.7 (P <0.05) showed that the treatment group of dogs were given the extract leuceana leaf spray dose 60% (P3) and most effective when compared with those dogs from the negative control group without treatment (P0), a group treated extract leuceana leaf spray dose of 20% (P1), and a group treated extract leuceana leaf spray dose of 40% (P2).

Abstract

This study aims to determine induction of type I diabetes mellitus to changes histopathological picture of the pancreas in rats (Rattusnorvegicus). The research sample used was a albino rat (Rattus norvegicus) as many as 12. Albino rat were randomly divided into 2 groups with each group 6 animals, treatment group as a control that is not induced alloxan (P0), the treatment group induced alloxan with the dose of 50 mg / kg (P1), rats induced by alloxan for 3 days intraperitoneally after it conducted checks of blood sugar by means of glucometers, on day 4 continued therapy (P2), until day 8 do a necropsy to take samples of pancreas then made preparations Histopathological to do microscopic observation. The results of data analysis using the Kruskal Wallis of pancreas are edema with value of P = 0.011, P = 0.011 acinar necrosis, inflammation and perivasculer P value = 0.017 infiltrates P value hemmorage and fat necrosis = 0,172. All P values greater than 0.05 means no differences were found with the data distribution standard normal distributed data. It is concluded that there are some severe lesion in the pancreas with diabetic alloxan induced.

Abstract

The alms of this was analized research aims to analyze the damage of nerve tissue in the brain of mice (Mus Musculus) inoculated with Trypanosoma evansi. The animal used in this research was 27 male mice. The plan used in this research was the random complete plan (RAL) with one control group and two experimental groups used nine repetitions. Control group (PO) was given aquades, P1 group was inoculated with Trypanosoma evensi 0,2x104 ml by intraperitoneal, and then P2 group was inoculated with Trypanosma evansi 0,2x104 ml by subcutan. In the fourth day after inoculated the mice were sacrificed and taken the brain organ to make histopathology blood smear. The lesi result was analyzed by using scoring Kennedy method, it showed the result, there was a change of histopathology of nerve tissue in the brain organ of mice (Mus Musculus), it was lesion meningitis 33% was in the control group, 100% was in the experimental group 1 (P1), 100% was in the experimental group 2 (P2). Perivascullar cuffing was 0% in the control group, 100% was in the experimental group 1, and 88% was in the experimental group 2. The gained data was processed by using Statistical Program For Science (SPSS) with Krusskall-Wallis Test method and then with Mann-Whitney Test method. The result showed the real differences (P≤0,01) between control group and experimental group 2.

Abstract

This research used the dosage of radio active 125I of 5 mci and 10 mci, and used 32 two-month-old male white mice. The white mice were divided into four groups randomly. This research applied Split-plot Design. After being treated based on the gruping time, the data were obtained, then analyzed with the following result . Group of 16 day t- test of the control erythrocyte ( c-1 ) and the erythrocyte after the break of the treatment of 5 mci of radio-active 125I dosage showed significant ( p< 0,05 )unreversible. Group of 32 days t- test of the control erythrocyte ( c-2 )and the erythrocyte after the break of the treatment of 10 mci of radio-active 125I dosage showed non significant difference (p>0,05) reversible

Abstract

Gene p53 is a tumor suppressor gene that in normal conditions is in ' standby ' mode , several studies show that pivotal point that lead to stimulation of p53 is DNA damage , heat shock , hypoxia, exposure of nitric oxide ( NO ) , the expression of oncogenes and some p53 pathways activation. p53 mechanism as a guardian of genome stability are cell cycle arrest, repair of DNA damaged, induce apoptosis, prevents angiogenesis , invasion and metastasis ability of the tumor. On many tumor , p53 is not loss , but mutated , the p53 mutant was expressed 70 % in lung cancer , and in different frequencies in other cancers . Then the role of p53 as a transcription factor that works to regulate genes involved in tumor suppression is indispensable .

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian perasan kunyit terhadap jumlah monosit dan heterofil pada ayam pedaging yang diinfeksi dengan antigen Salmonella pullorum. Hewan percobaan yang digunakan adalah ayam pedaging sejumlah 40 ekor. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 pengulangan. Keempat perlakuan tersebut adalah P0 (kontrol), P1 (40% perasan kunyit), P2 (50% perasan kunyit), P3 (60% perasan kunyit). Pemberian perasan kunyit dilakukan mulai dari DOC sampai umur 14 hari pada saat pagi hari (maksimal 4 jam pemberian). Infeksi antigen Salmonella pullorum dilakukan pada umur 7 hari. Jumlah monosit dan heterofil dihitung dari hasil preparat ulas darah. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemberian perasan kunyit dengan konsentrasi 50% menunjukkan peningkatan jumlah monosit dan heterofil jika dibandingkan dengan kelompok perlakuan 40% dan 60%.

Abstract

Purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of talcum, unguentum and paste of mangosteen peel extract standardized (Garcinnia mangostana Linn) against Ringworm Disease in vivo. This type of experimental research using completely randomized design. The research sample: male hamster 24 animals, divided 4 groups and 6 replications: a control group, were infected ringworm fungus (Trycophyton mentagophytes) but not given treatment (P0), the treatment group infected ringworm fungus and treated with talcum extract standardized mangosteen rind (P1) treatment group and the untreated ringworm fungus infected unguentum standardized extract of mangosteen peel (P2), a group that ringworm fungus infected and treated with a paste of mangosteen peel extract standardized (P3). Giving a fungal infection ringworm done once, then wait 1-2 weeks until the fungal infection spread to the whole body of experimental animals were then treated according to the treatment dose of 50% twice a day. Observation of wound healing, change in body surface area that has been infected with mildew, scab and reduction of area small dots such as rings and mushrooms are native examination conducted on the 5th, 10th and 15th. Results of the examination of the wound healing, change in body surface area that has been infected with mildew, scab and reduction of area small dots like ring diskoring and analyzed by Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The results showed: the treatment group was given a fungal infection ringworm and treated with a paste of mangosteen peel extract standardized to 50% dose twice daily (P3) provide most excellent and effective than the group P2, P1 and P0 appears on the 15th day.

Abstract

The quality of milk is important to supply healthy milk for consumers. The increase of bacteria in fresh milk is one factor that can decrease the quality of milk. Bacteria in fresh milk can harm the health of consumers if the milk is not processed properly. Escherichia coli is a bacteria that often contaminate fresh milk. Escherichia coli can be pathogenic in humans because of some serotypes of this bacteria is able to produce the toxin. This toxin can cause fluid accumulation in the intestine and diarrhea. The purpose of this study was to determine the contaminant levels of Escherichia coli in fresh milk from dairy farms in Surabaya. The method used to determine the contaminant levels of Escherichia coli is Most Probable Number (MPN). The results showed that the average of Escherichia coli contaminant levels in fresh milk from dairy farms in Surabaya is 110 Escherichia coli / ml. This is not appropiate with the requirements of ISO 7388: 2009 (<3 Escherichia coli / ml).

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the influence of the addition of flour mengkudu in performans on feed on blood profile male broiler. This study using 24 male broiler reared from doc until 2 weeks old , after 2 weeks old the chicken divided randomly in 4 of the treatment as follows. ( po ) groups of chickens without treatment , done four times test . ( p1 ) groups of chickens by the addition of flour mengkudu into feed as many as 5 % ( p2 ) groups of chickens by the addition of flour mengkudu in feed to ten percent . ( p3 ) groups of chickens by the addition of flour mengkudu to in feed fifteen percent. The provision of feed has been given additional flour mengkudu done three times in one day , in the morning , afternoon , and night . After 42 days chicken harvested and weighed the increase of weight , consumption of feed and taken blood samples for laboratory. Data from the results of research on a male broiler given additional flour mengkudu in feed to a draft design experiment completely random and data analyzed by the method of analysis of variant ( ANOVA ).The results of research , it can be concluded that the addition of flour fruit mengkudu in feed male broiler cattle by 5 percent : 10 percent and 15 percent , do not affect the consumption of feed , body weight , the conversion of fodder and the number of the number of erythrocytes and leukocytes

Abstract

The mean of this research is to observed the OOA (Onset Of Action), DOA (Duration Of Action), Cardiovascular (CRT), respiration system (respiration type and respiration rate) on giving of Ketamine, Xylazine that compare to the combination of Ketamine-Xylazine to rat and reach the anesthetic choice that can fulfill the basic anestesia criteria ( sedation, analgesia, relaxation, safe and applicable).This research use 30 rats that separated in to 3 groups, each group consist of 10 rats. Group P1 got pre-anestesia treatment with atropine (0,05 mg/kg body weight) subcutaneously and 10 minutes latter is given the induction of anestesia with Ketamine (50-200mg/kg body weight) intramuscularly, Group P2 got pre-anestesia treatment with atropine (0,05 mg/kg body weight) subcutaneously and 10 minutes latter is given the induction of anestesia with Xylazine (5-10 mg/kg body weight) intramuscularly and Group P3 got pre-anestesia treatment with atropine (0,05 mg/kg body weight) subcutaneously and 10 minutes latter is given induction of anestesia with Ketamine and Xylazine intramuscularly.Result of the research to OOA and DOA (F < 0,05 < 0,01) show that faint time is earlier in the post injection of ketamine-xylazine. The result of research of anestesia duration to cardiovascular system (CRT) show that there is not real different for the three treatment (F > 0,05 > 0,01) while in the three treatment there is real different for the anestesia stage (F < 0,05 < 0,01). Result of the research for the anestesia duration in the respiration system especially in respiration type show that there is not real different in that three treatment (F > 0,05 > 0,01) while in the anestesia stage show that there is real different (F < 0,05 < 0,01). Research result about the respiration rate in the three treatment show that there is no real different (F > 0,05 > 0,01) so was the treatment in anestesia stage show that there is real different (F < 0,05 < 0,01).
