Abstract

Today, more than three thousand exoplanets have been confirmed and other millions waiting to be discovered. In addition to determine their physical and precise orbital parameters of exoplanets atmosphere is of important to characterize. This will allows us to investigate their evolution and eventually to see the possibility for some exoplanets to harbor a living system. By using the TAU code, we undertake simulations of exoplanets transmission spectra in the near infrared in order to retrieve transmission spectral profiles of these exoplanets. The simulations adopted thermal profile as well as absorption cross-section as a wavelength function for each modeled absorber or trace molecule H2O (0.24 ? 0.34 microns) and C2H6 (0-20 microns). The computation provide scale height, optical depth, transit depth and absorption spectra of absorber. The peak of the spectra may lead us to determine the abundance of each molecule in the atmosphere. Our result gave scale height 89% compared to existing data, and total number density of H2O is 5.42?1025 m-3 for Jupiter's atmosphere. Subsequently, we make spectral models of some hot Jupiters, including HD 189733b with WASP 12b, and earth-like exoplanets.

Abstract

Lean thinking is used to analyse manufacturing sector namely lean manufacturing over industrial process. In addition, the development lean thinking over government sector is a right choices to improve quality of government service. Thus, this aimed to test the Lean Government algorithm with Define, Measure, Analysis, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) and Lean Consumption Map (LCM) method over government service. By using comparison completion time over building tax object and registration file document at Badan Pendapatan Daerah (BAPENDA) South Tangerang. The result showed, Lean Government algorithm was successful to assess comparison method with Time Series Plot, Value Added Assessment, and Lean Consumption Map. In this study, we use qualitative research methods and interview with internal and external correspondence, respectively. We found that the DMAIC application and Lean Consumption Map inside the Lean Government algorithm will be improve the time of settlement document and service process over BAPENDA South Tangerang

Abstract

The aim of this research are to establish the optimal portfolio of stocks listed on the Jakarta Islamic Index in Indonesia Stock Exchange in order to observe and measure their performance potential as a financial investment instrument for the people to invest in the capital market in Indonesia. Furthermore, this study offers a better choice in the decision making process in selecting the optimal portfolio of stocks listed on the Jakarta Islamic Index in Indonesia Stock Exchange using the modern theory of portfolio formation markowitz model and single index model. The sample used in this study is a company that always appear in the announcement of changes to the composition of stocks in the Jakarta Islamic Index in Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period 2010-2016. The sampling method used in this research using purposive sampling method. The analysis method used in this study using wilcoxon test with statistical software. The results showed that there was no significant difference between the level of return earned by using markowitz model and single index model, and the level of return earned by using markowitz model and single index model is not higher than the risk-free asset return.

Abstract

Bureaucracy in Indonesia have problematic in public services performance due to lack of apparatus resources quality. Here, the solution to solve the problem cannot fixed. By using the lean thinking concept, we can improve this problem to fix it. This concept namely lean government to find best solution whether the application of Lean Government concept with Lean Consumption Map (LCM) and DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control). This method can be applied in public services, especially in the Indonesian ID Card service process over Department of Population and Civil Registration of South Tangerang, West Java, Indonesia. In this study, we use qualitative research methods to obtained the data based on survey, observations, interview, analysis of documents and records or reports from Department of Population and Civil Registration, South Tangerang, West Java, Indonesia. The result showed, Value to Waste Ratio increased from 9.1% to 43% while in the provider side from 7.2% to 46%. This study shows that the Lean thinking methodology can be embraced by public services to create an efficient and effective process in reducing the service process time.

Abstract

The trend of converting direct current (DC) system into alternating current (AC) using inverter becomes common since the system efficiency appropriately improves. Additionally, the mitigation on direct-DC power system requires transformer and inverters inside the appliances due to lower and convert the 230VAC into useable DC voltage. This paper proposes the direct-DC power system generation based on single-phase rooftop photovoltaic (PV) in the residential low voltage (LV) feeder. The proposed simulation designates the power system components included in the modeling of the AC and direct-DC houses, which the included power system components downstream of the PV array. The efficiency of direct-DC power supply, grid interactive inverter and charge controller are simulated. The results show that the peak curve efficiency of direct-DC power supply has DC power input narrow to 400VDC. It is then become 2% higher than 220VAC power input. While the inverter with multiple MPPT efficiency curve has the peak of 96-97% after 30% loads, while when it is partly loads, with the power capacity below 1000W, has peak at range of 86-95%. Then the efficiency curve of charge controller with MPPT for partly load scheme below 30W output power the peak is about 90-94%.

Abstract

Public service over Regional Government in Indonesia is considered doesn?t good enough. The lean government programs is used to improve public services in Tangerang, West Java, Indonesia. In this study, we analyse the mutation services for object/subject on Land and Building Taxes over Badan Pendapatan Daerah (Bapenda) using lean government concept. The lean government concept is uses the DMAIC mechanism (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control). In order to obtain failure mode, we use Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method to improve mutation process service for object/subject on land and building tax. In this study we uses qualitative research method to take the data observation based on interview also documents and records from 30 correspondence. The results showed the applied concept of lean government programs could be increase the submission process of mutation services for object/subjects of Land and Building Taxes to 28.6% with average time reduced 8 days (from 28 days to 20 days).

Abstract

Institut Teknologi Sumatera (ITERA) has the potential to generate air pollution due to the development for the next twenty years. This study aims to identify and analyse pollutant concentrations level in the ITERA. The parameters used are Sulphur dioxide (SO2), Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2), Ozone (O3), Hydrocarbon (HC), PM10, and Dust (TSP) based on PP RI No.41 at 1999 of National Ambient Air Quality Standard. The measurement results show the ambient air quality the highest concentration of pollutant occurred at the ITERA main gate is hydrocarbon which had the concentration 453 ?g/m3 below the national standard at both sampling points.

Abstract

With a range of long distances or depths and areas beyond the reach of the internet it is necessary to design a wireless SCADA system based on the AX.25 protocol for the purpose of monitoring Micro hydro power generation and forming a prototype in a model of a micro hydro power plants (Micro hydro power plant) wirelessly monitoring system. The method used in this research is quantitative method, by designing a system to monitor Micro hydro power plant wirelessly by utilizing AX.25 protocol. This system can monitor several Micro hydro power plant parameters such as voltage, current and frequency and turbine rotation so that it can be accessed directly at one central location. Data transmitted by Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) may serve as a reference for operators to decide on further steps if any monitored Micro hydro power plant parameters change from a predetermined standard. This prototype has been simulated using the Proteus 8.6 and LabView 2012 software. Data from the sensors transmitted over radio frequency using KYL 1020 from each RTU to MTU and connected to the computer using LabView software and displayed on the computer with taking into account the operating parameters, characteristics and workings of the AX protocol. The RTU system has been successfully simulated using 2 ACS712 current sensors, voltage sensor, zero crossing point, frequency sensor and rotation sensor functional for monitoring Micro hydro power plant parameters. The AX.25 protocol has been applicable in the wireless SCADA network for monitoring the performance of the Micro hydro power plant by embedding in a KYL-1020UA transceiver radio using the 433 MHz frequency and the AFSK modulation system. Radio transmitter KYL-1020UA has been successfully simulated to send data from sensors to display on the computer through SCADA built applications. The data changes in the RTU section can be displayed properly on the GUI in accordance with the existing display at the Micro hydro power plant location.

Abstract

Entering the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) has forced various business organizations to change the business paradigm from labor based business or traditional patterns lead to a modern business that is knowledge-based business. This study aims to analysis the role of Intellectual capital (human capital, relational capital and structural capital) in developing the service performance at Village Credit Institutions (VCI). This research was conducted at 35 VCI in the Municipalities over Denpasar, Indonesia. Here, the 35 VCI?s was tested to obtain hypotheses using descriptive and inferential analysis Partial Least Square (PLS). The results of the study concluded that human capital and relational capital are significantly influence on services performance. In contrast, structural capital does not significantly influence on service performance.
