Abstract

Abstract: This paper tried to trace Okky Madasari’s repertoire in Maryam novel. Research analysis used Wolfgang Iser’s aesthetic response in his book The Act of Reading: A Theory of Aesthetic response (1987). The results showed that the accumulation of Okky's interview as a journalist about Ahmadiyya in Lombok had presented the Ahmadiyya socio-cultural problems in Lombok, and the old literary texts as background. Okky used social norms in the form of conflict of expulsion and burning of Ahmadiyya, while historical norms appear from year to year tragedies are displayed from 1999 to 2003. Cultural norms of Ahmadiyya must be married to fellow Ahmadis, and Ahmadis have their own mosques for their worship activities. The old literature that influenced it seemed to be Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk, Pulang novel, and Saksi Mata as well as the story of Maryam binti Imran. All of these elements build the meaning of the novel by Okky as a strategy to slip hopes, views, and criticisms of background reality to convey foreground that is intended to be addressed. Foreground that appears is Okky trying to reflect at the same time the contemplation of the tragedy for the tragedy that befell the Ahmadis in Lombok. So that the hope that appears is to voice justice, human rights and civilization better. Because Indonesian constitution becomes and protects every citizen's rights.Keywords: Repertoire, socio-cultural norms, history, old literature and foreground

Abstract

The research aims was to describe the structure of a Narrative Essay rhetoric Describing Student primary school teacher education STKIP PGRI Lubuklinggau, using qualitative research methods. As for the steps in analyzing the following: a). data analysis will be started from an analysis of the "text" of the text of a collection of short stories which is read repeatedly, b). After that number sort on a collection of short stories, followed by c). give the numbers sort as well on each of the paragraphs in the short story collection, d). Then give the code based on the categories of items that appear in each paragraph (identify text elements), e). Make a general description of the sheet structure of rhetoric that appeared every paragraph, f). Further describes and discusses the results of data analysis, g). Draw conclusions from the results of research. The results of this study show that in general the rhetoric of narrative essay with using theory of generic text labov has a pattern variable that is 1). O contained on the (KR 8 dan KR 18), 2). O – PP contained on the (KR 3, KR 4,KR 5,KR 7, KR 13, KR 17,KR 20, KR 22,KR 24, KR 27, R 28, KR 29, KR, 32,dan KR 34), 3). O – PP – R contained on the ( KR 1, KR 2,KR 6,KR 9,KR 10, KR 11,KR 12,KR 14, KR 16,KR 19, KR 21,KR 23, KR 25 dan KR 26,dan 4). O – PP – R – K contained on the (KR 15,KR 30 dan KR 31). Beside it from 33 describing These consist of 33 bouquet that has elements of orientation (O), the describing has elements of perumitan events (PP) totaled 29 describing while elements of the resolution (R) totaled 17 describing, and last element of koda (K) amounted to 3 wreaths. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to reveal the similarities and differences in Pendhoza's Demi Kowe song lyrics with the song lyrics Merantau by Abah Lala. This research is included in the type of qualitative descriptive research with a comparative literary approach. The data collection technique used is the technique of reading and recording. The researcher reads the two song lyrics and records the similarities and differences between the two song lyrics. Data analysis techniques use interactive techniques that include data reduction processes, data display and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the two songs had similarities and differences. The similarity between the two songs lies in the character values, please help, discipline, responsibility, and independence. The difference between the two songs can be seen in terms of the story that Demi Kowe's song lyrics tell more about the return of a man after going overseas to keep his promises. In Demi Kowe's song lyrics, religious values were also found that were not found in Merantau's song lyrics. In the song lyrics of Merantau the difference lies in the content of the story that tells about the struggle of a husband who lives in the land of rantau. In addition, in the song lyrics Merantau also tells about the suspicions and emotions of a husband towards the wife who was left at home.Keywords: song lyrics, comparative literature, male struggle.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to trace the extent of the use of Bengkulen folklore in the process of teaching and learning rhetorical subject. The study is a descriptive research which tries to portray the exercise of teaching rhetorical subject in which Bengkulen folklore is included. This study applies qualitative approach. The research subject deals with the fifth semester students of class A from the study program of Indonesian Language Teaching (FKIP) of Bengkulu University in the academic year of 2016-2017. The study results in that student activities change into positive direction in learning by folklore. The application of folklore to the students can improve their skill in rhetoric or public communication. It can be seen from the grades they achieve and the extent of their finishing the subject. Based on the data analyzed, the result shows that there 21 students who receive grade up 70 and their fulfillment in learning reaches 90, 84%.

Abstract

This article aimed to find out the implementation of reading and writing grade 1 students at State Elementary School number 02 Rejang Lebong. The type of research conducted is quantitative research. Quantitative research is a way of finding knowledge that uses numeric form as a means of finding information regarding what you want to know. The research population of class 1 students was 28 people. The samples used in this study were purposive samples, namely certain consideration techniques. The sample of this study was class 1 students of Rejang Lebong 02 Elementary School, which consisted of 14 people, consisting of 9 women and 5 men. Data collection using questionnaires and tests. Tests are used written tests and oral tests. The results obtained by this study were conducted through a questionnaire which concluded that the reading and writing skills of first grade students were high and low. Between variables x and y there is a strong or high correlation. With regard to the magnitude of r_xy which is 0.763, it ranges from 0.70-0.90, so it can be concluded that the hypothesis (Ha) has no effect on reading and writing class 1 Rejang Lebong or hypothesis (Ha) accepted, while the hypothesis (Ho) of reading ability and write or hypothesis (Ho) rejected.

Abstract

Abstract: The Purpose of this study was to improve the writing skills of class A students of the Indonesian Language Study Program FKIP Bengkulu University: Suggestopedia method is a strategy that has the main principle, namely, suggestions that can influence the result of learning situasion, both positively and negatively, by comfortably occupying students, setting up baground music in class during lessons, increasing individual participation, using posters to member big impressions while highligting information. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Descriptively use to describe the learning conditons. This type of research is classroom action research. this research was conducted in two cycles. The Research procedure used was the Arikunto Model class action research procedure, namely by conducting several steps of research which included (1) action planning, (2) action implementation, (3) observation, (4) reflection. The source of this research data comes from the results of the first cycle and second cycle research. Data analysis was done by(1) collecting data and student work in the form of writing speech concepts in public, (2) evaluating student data and performances, (3) making conclusions. Based on the result of the study obtained result; the first cycle can be concluded, there is still a distance between the theme and the substance of the explanation about the contents of the concept of student writing, so that the idea seem not well organized. Cycle II learning activities themes have been interrelated with explanatory substances  and the ideas have been neatly arranged fiber aspects of imagination that have been used have increased.Keyword: Sugesstopedia

Abstract

This study is aimed at describing the textbooks of class VII issued by Ministry of education and cultural of Indonesia (Kemendikbud), in terms of the compatibility of the content, language, presentation and layout. The data in this study consist of words, sentences, discourses and texts of the textbooks under examination, quoted from the main textbook issued by Kemendikbud as the learning source for student class VII. The instrument used in this study adopts BSNP standards. To analyze data, the study uses content analysis technique and to check the validity of the data it uses the technique of triangulation. As the results, it indicates that the Indonesian textbooks for class VII belong to appropriate category in terms of content, language and presentation. However, much revision is still needed especially on the accuracy of illustrations, conformity with the level of intellectual development of students and student accessibility and the completeness of the presentation based on its content. The suitability of layout reaches very appropriate category. It only needs to revise on the design of the cover performance in order to attract student’s interest. Abstract

The focus of this qualitative research is the feasibility analysis of 2013 curriculum thematic books at elementary school level character education perspective. This research through literature study describes, identifies, analyzes qualitatively about character education that appears in thematic books and their feasibility for teaching materials for elementary school age children. Character education in the thematic book title Obligations and My Rights published by the Ministry of Education and Culture, appeared 69 times. In sub-theme 1 appears 9 times, sub-theme 2 appears 15 times, subtema 3 appears 24 times, and in sub-theme 4 appears 21 times. Emerging character education is divided into 5 categories. Character education related to God, is related to oneself, related to fellow human beings, related to nationality, and related to the environment. The feasibility of thematic books in terms of character education is very feasible because character values appear as 69 times. This is also relevant to the structure of the 2013 curriculum which emphasizes meaningful learning. In the case of conveying character values when viewed in terms of children's cognitive development there are about 9 discussions that are not appropriate at the stage of concrete operational development. Abstract

The study is intendead to investigate the achievement of language skill of student’s who learn through cooperative learning strategy and those who learn through individual learning one. It is a qualitative research by employing experiment methode which includes two sampel of group, namely ones who follow cooperative learning strategy. Based on the findings and the investigation, it reaches the following conclusion. Firstly, teachers can choose which learning materials and strategies should be used to gain the increasment of student’s skill writing argumentation as when the level of rational thingking of student has been known. Secondly, the strategy of cooperative learning and individual learning among student’s group who have different ability in using logical thingking will result in different skill in writing argumentation. Thirdly, the improvement of argumentative writing skill can be effected by factors of learning strategy and logical thingking skill. Fourtly, the learning strategy and logical thingking skills have strong connection to the skill of writing argumentation.

Abstract

The cultural literacy program is one of the six basic literacies proclaimed by the World Economic Forum in 2015. Foundational literacies are literacy, numeracy, scientific literacy, ICT literacy, financial literacy, and cultural and civic literacy. Cultural literacy is someone’s ability in understanding his culture and how to behave towards his culture as his nation’s identity. In other words, cultural literacy is the knowledge, perspectives, and contributions of a set of cultures that will be used by the learners in the process of reading and writing. This paper highlights the advantages of cultural literacy for university students. In addition, this paper also elaborates the teaching scenario of cultural literacy in Indonesian language course.
