Abstract

Nutmeg (Myristica fragrans Houtt) is a multipurpose plantation commodity crop that almost all parts of the plant have strategic economic value to be cultivated. In Indonesia there are the largest nutmeg commodity centers, including the Maluku islands, North Sulawesi and Aceh. The biggest problem with nutmeg plants is the attack of pests and diseases. One of the most severe diseases in nutmeg is white root mushroom (Rigidoporus lignosus). This study aims to 1) determine the fungus of white root fungus antagonists (Rigodoporus lignosus) from the Aceh nutmeg rhizosphere (Myristica fragrans Houtt), 2) identify the content of antibiotic fungus JAP antagonist compounds in Aceh nutmeg plants. The study was conducted by taking soil samples from nutmeg plants at three nutmeg plantations in South Aceh. The antagonist fungus isolation activity uses a dilution method. Isolation of JAP from infected roots using direct planting method. Furthermore, it is identified macroscopically and microscopically. The antagonist test was carried out using the dual culture method with RAL. From the rhizosphere in the nutmeg area, 5 candidate antagonist isolates were obtained, having high in vitro antagonism ability to the pathogen R. lignosus. Identification results showed that isolates 1, 2 and 3 were Trichoderma spp, and isolates 4 and 5 were Gliocladium virens. Abstract

This study aims to identify the effects of mycorrhiza arbuscular and phosphate source fertilizer on the growth and nutrients absorption of soybean on critical land. The research was carried out in the experimental garden of Agricultural Faculty, University of Syiah Kuala Darussalam, Banda Aceh. The research was done in an experiments using polybag of random design group (shelves) consisting 2 factors, namely mycorrhiza arbuscular consisting of 4 standards without mycorrhiza, glomus 10 g, mycorrhiza gigaspora 10 g, and mixture glomus 5 g + gigaspora 5 g and phosphate fertilizer consisting 4 factors namely without phosphate fertilizer, rock fosfat, guano, and SP-36. The result showed that the interaction effect of mycorrhiza glomus and guano phosphate application improved growth and nutrients absorption of soybean plants. Key words: Gigaspora, Glomus, guano, rock phosphate, soybean, SP-36/>

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of plant spacing and proper organic fertilizer on the growth and production of sweet corn and the interaction between the two factors. The research method used in this research is Randomized Block Design (RBD) 3 x 3 factorial pattern with three replications. Factors studied include plant spacing and dosage of organic fertilizer. Factors studied include plant spacing with 3 levels ie 50 x 20 cm (J1), 70 x 20 cm (J2), and 90 x 20 cm (J3). The dosage factor of organic fertilizer consisting of 3 levels is 10 tons ha-1 (P1), 20 tons ha-1 (P2) and 30 tons ha-1 (P3). The results showed that plant spacing had significant effect on plant height 15, 30 and 45 DAP, cob weight without weight and production of ha-1 but not significant effect on leaf age 15, 30 and 45 DAP, length of cob and diameter of cob. The results showed that organic fertilizer had very significant effect on plant height aged 30 and 45 DAP, cob weight without weight and production of ha-1 and significant effect on plant height of 15 DAP but no significant effect on the number of leaves aged 15, 30 and 45 DAP , length of cob and diameter of cob without weight. There was no interaction between plant spacing and organic fertilizer on all growth variables and sweet corn yields observed. Keywords: plant spacing, organic fertilizer, sweet corn

Abstract

Potential  of Trichoderma viride to control Sclerotium rolfsii on soybean (Glycine max L.). This research aims to determine the  potential of T. viride against S. rolfsii attack on soybean crop (Glycine max L.). The research was conducted in the field of Faculty of Agriculture, Graha Nusantara University Padangsidimpuan, from May to August 2017. The results showed the highest percentage disease of incidence of S. rolfsii at the highest observation of 2, 3, 4 MST (Week After Planting), from W2D0 (when planting / 75 gram /polybag) 46.77%, 61.35% and 73.29%. and the lowest was W1D4 (7 days before planting/300 gram / polybag) 1.8%, 2.3% and 3.41%. Keywords : Potential, Trichoderma viride, Sclerotium rolfsii, Soybean

Abstract

The availability of water is an important factor that greatly affects the growth and yield at the onions. The objective of this research was to study the growth content of three cultivars of onions (Allium cepa L.) on different water availability condition. This research was conducted in the Sawit Sari Greenhouse, Laboratory of Plant Physiology Faculty of Biology and the Laboratory of Chemistry, Faculty of MIPA, University Gadjah Mada in September-December 2015. The design used in this experiment was a Complete Random Design (CRD) with two factors, cultivar and frequency of watering. The cultivars used were Biru Lancor (V1), Crok Kuning (V2), Tiron (V3) using differences watering frequency: 2 times daily watering (P1), once a day watering (P2), once a watering in 2 days (P3), once a watering in 3 days (P4). Each treatment combination was done with 5 replication. Water treatment was done in second week until eight week after planting. The observed parameters included leaves length, number and fresh weight of the leaves, the length and weight of roots, fresh weight and dry weight of tubers which measured by digital scales and tape measure. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variant (ANOVA). The results showed the differences in frequency of watering influences the growth, and yield content of three cultivars of onions. Leaves length, fresh weight, and number of leaves decreased with the reduction of the frequency of watering. Root length and fresh weight of root, fresh and dry weight of tuber increased with the reduction of the watering frequency. Keywords: Onion (Allium cepa L.), drought,

Abstract

This research to know response organic materials and some varieties to cucumber to result and growth atultisol and whet herthere is interaction both of factor.This research have been executed by in Garden Agriculture Faculity of TeukuUmar University Meulaboh, Aceh Barat Started 3 July up to 7 September 2015.This research to used is a randomized blokc desigh (RBD) with 3 x 4 and 3 with there replications. The first factor is  varieties 3 level: Hercules, Mercy, and Wuku. The second factor is organic material; 4 level that is control (without treatmant),10 tons/hectare, 20 tons/hectare, and 30 tons / hectare set organic. The results showed that the varieties signifcantly affectted plant height 15, 20, and 25 days after plantiny length diameter fruit. Where as 15 and 20 days after planting, fruit weight and production tons/hectare. Showed no significant effect on dose organic plant heigh 15, 20, and 25 days after planting, fruit weigh, fruit length, fruit to diameter, and productions total tons/hectare. Abstract

This study aims to know the effect of the nutrient potassium to stomatal opening and drought resistance. The design used in this study is a randomized block design (RAK) 3x2 factorial repeated 4 times to harvest I and II. Factor 1 (K): KCl 0, 50, 100 kg / ha. Factor 2: enough water (air conditioning), water less (AK). Dose of fertilizer: Urea 200 kg / ha and KCl according to treatment-given 2 times, SP-36 100 kg/ha at planting. Observations were in leaf area, protein content, the width of stomata, net assimilation rate (LAB), relative growth rate (LPN), and the ratio of leaf area (NLD). Net assimilation rate was not significantly different among all treatments. The results showed that the harvest II occurred a real difference to the given leaf area with no water, but potash fertilizer was not significantly different. Net assimilation rate was not significantly different among all treatments. Water shortage conditions give real effect to the width of stomata in comparison to other treatments. Provision of adequate water is a significant real influence on the content of proline. There is no interaction between the provision of water and potassium fertilizer to the total dry weight of the harvest 2 at treatment K1A1 (K50 and less water) was lower than treatment K2A2 (K100 and enough water).Keywords: corn, drought resilience, potassium fertilizers, stomata

Abstract

Study of color and organoleptic tests on sweet potato clones has been done. Indonesia is a country that has the potential availability of food as a source of carbohydrate that is large enough in terms of resource potential of the region, one of the sources of carbohydrates are types of tubers such as sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.). Diversification on sweet potatoes can be used as an alternative community in meeting the food other than rice. The potential and benefits of sweet potato as an alternative food material is enormous, especially in improving human nutrition and food security. The purpose of this study was to determine the color and panelists acceptance of the sweet potato clones. Result of this study was to obtain preliminary information about color and preference of the panelists on sweet potato clones before it is processed. The results showed that the color of sweet potatoes significantly different at all clones of sweet potato, sweet potato color of the brightest contained in sweet potato clones K15 followed K7 and K9. Panelists preferred the clones K6, while the form of panelists selecting clones K6, K2, followed by K11, K12, K13, K14 and K16. As for the exterior texture, panelists chose K16, and textures in the selected panelists is K1, K10 and K13. Keywords: clone, color, organoleptic, sweetpotato

Abstract

The aims of the research were determine the effect of the growth and production towards varieties of peanut plants on peat. The research used Randomized Block Design (RBD) pattern of non factorial with four replications. The factor is variety consist of Bison, Naga Umbang, Jerapah, Domba and Gajah. This research was conducted at the experimental field on Teuku Umar University, Meulaboh, Aceh Barat, from April 23 to August 29 2012. The varieties gave very significant effect on the number of branches on 15, 30 and 45 days after planting (DAP), percentage of pods pithy and hollow, are weight of 100 dry seeds. No effect on plant height at 15, 30 and 45 DAP, the number of branches on 15 DAP, one the weight of dry peas. The best growth and yield of peanut found on Jerapah variety and Naga Umbang variety. Keywords: varieties, peatland, peanuts

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of type of cuttings and concentration of growth regulators on the growth of plants Growtone patchouli and real absence of the interaction of both factors.This research was conducted at the Experimental Farm at the University of Teuku Umar Meurebo District of West Aceh district. Research began on August 3 until September 3, 2015. The material to be used in this study is a cuttings patchouli with age and the same diameter, the upper soil (top soil), in the form of cow dung manure is ripe, grow roots aphrodisiac brands Grow Tone and fungicide Dithane 46. The tools used in this study is polybag, 30 cm wooden ruler, paranet 50% of light, gembor. Signboard and treatment license plate and stationary for supporting the research.The experimental design used in this study was a randomized block design (RAK) 3 x 4 factorial design with three replications. Factor Type Cuttings consists of three levels ie: S1 = cuttings shoots; S2 = cuttings limb; S3 = stem cuttings. PGR concentration factor (Z) used consists of three levels, namely: Z0 = 0 g ml-1 water; Z1 = 3 g ml-1 water; Z2 = 6 g ml-1 water; Z3 = 9 g ml-1 of water.The results showed that the type of cuttings significant effect on the number of leaves of patchouli at the age of 14, 28, 42 and 56 days after planting (DAP), shoot length at the age of 42 and 56 (HST), the number of roots and root length at the age of 56 HST, Real impact on the long shoots at the age of 14 and 28 days after planting. No real effect on percentage of cuttings life at the age of 56 HST. Of the various types of cuttings were tested patchouli, patchouli plant growth best in the encounter on the type of patchouli shoot cuttings (S1).The results of the research that has been conducted shows that the dose concentration Growtone very significant effect on the number of leaves of patchouli at theage of 14, 28, 42 and 56 days after planting (DAP), shoot length at the age of 42 and 56 (HST), the number of roots and root length at the age of 56 HST. Real impact on the long shoots at the age of 14 and 28 days after planting. No real effect on percentage of cuttings life at the age of 56 HST. Of various concentrations of plant growth is tested growtone the best value found in the treatment with a concentration of 6 g cuttings growtone-1 (Z2).
