Abstract

This research aims to know the dosage of herbicide glyphosate is effective and efficient against the sensitivity of Imperata cylindrica, Chromolaena odorata, Cyperus rotundus. This research was carried out on the fields of education and research (KP2) Institute for agriculture Stiper Yogyakarta which is located in the Subdistrict of Depok, Maguwoharjo, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta special region province. Implemented in December 2016 until January 2017. This study used a factorial experiment method which consisted of two factors, which are arranged in a randomized complete design (RAL), the first factor is a type of weed that consists of three types, namely, Imperata cylindrica, Chromolaena odorata, Cyperus rotundus. The second factor is the level of dose consisted of 3 levels namely controls, 5 l/ha, and 6 l/ha. The data were analyzed using a analysis of varience and to know the difference between the treatment performed testing using the DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test) on the real level of 5%. The results of the analysis of the three kinds of weed applied herbicide doses 5 l/ha and 6 l/ha glyphosate treatment, dosage 6 l/ha is efficient in controlling Cyperus rotundus, while treatment of glyphosate doses of 6 l/ha control Imperata cylindrica and effective Chromolaena odorata. Abstract

The production of bunches fruit set in the palm oil is influenced by several factors such as water, nutrients and pollination. Sex ratio of an oil palm tree is affected by both genetic and environmental factors. Male and female inflorescences development are influenced by nutrients. The research was conducted with seven treatments nutrient formula for seventy stand to know fruit set development of oil palm. The number of male and female inflorescences have been calculated three months after fertilizer application. Increasing in male and female inflorescences as effect of several treatments of nutrient formula. Change in sex ratios to average 0,4 after treatments from? 0.5 before. Abstract

Land as a medium of all living things that live above or below, humans themselves are very dependent on the land because without the land there will be ?no plants and food products that are useful for human life. Environmental damage is increasingly occurring today, making the elimination of the use of land that had been for a living being to be disturbed. Techosol is a land where there is a very large human influence, former land of buildings, building debris, ex-mining and land that needs to be reclaimed can also be categorized as Technosol soil. Abstract

This study aims to determine the diversity of FMA from rhizosphere of cassava, corn, taro and peanut cultivated on peat lands of Rasau Jaya village by using a corn plant host. The research was conducted at the Biology and Soil Biotechnology Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture and plastic housings in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture Untan and lasted from 26 April 2017 until the date of September 15, 2017. The research procedure was carried out by taking samples of soil and roots from the rhizosphere of cassava, corn, taro and peanuts cultivated in peat lands. Soil and root sampling in each rhizosphere was performed at 4 points of observation as replication with a depth of 0-20 cm and a diameter of 20 cm and then put into plastic bags and labeled. The soil samples taken are then used for microscopic analysis (extraction and identification) and soil analysis to determine the chemical properties. Root samples were stained to determine the percentage of colonization. Trapping culture uses corn crops. Furthermore, extraction and spore identification were performed using the same technique with the extraction and identification of soil samples. Observed variables were including percentage of root colonization, spore density, and spore diversity. The results showed that FMA diversity from 4 types of peat land use from rhizosphere of cassava, corn, taro and peanut plants in Rasau Jaya village before and after trapping showed an increase of spore, diversity of FMA type, while the percentage of infected root values showed variation. Observations on the number of spores showed an increase from 37 to 62 per 50 g of soil increased to 60-170 spores per 50 g of soil. Spore type diversity of 10 Glomus types, 1 type of Gigaspora and 4 types of Acaulospora into 13 Glomus types, 3 types of Gigaspora and 4 types of Acaulospora. The highest percentage of infected roots before trapping ranged between 46.89% - 73.33% and after trapping ranged between 77.89% - 95.50%.?Keywords: Arbuscular Mycorrhiza Fungi, diversity, peat lands

Abstract

ABSTRACTTemanggung tobacco is categorized as an aromatic tobacco which cultivated around Mount Sumbing and Sindoro. Many cultivars of Temanggung tobacco planted by farmers and processed as dried sliced leaves. This product is still economically important for farmer and government income. The aim of the research was study character of trichomes and total sugar content of dry sliced Temanggung tobacco. Research materials used are live of dry sliced Temanggung tobacco, ie Pringapus, Sawah, Sindoro, Jambu, dan Lamsi. The measured parameter was the character of trichomes using microscope and Optilab, and also sugar content by Nelson Somogy methods. The result showed that live of dry sliced Temanggung tobacco has variety of color from pale lemon to light brown. Trichome observations shown that the live dry sliced tobacco have varied structure especially in uni-multicelular head. Abstract

The oil palm plantation may be suitable habitat for some wild small herbivore or omnivore species such as the rat. Rats are invasive pests in oil palm plantations, causing significant damages on fresh bunches fruit. ?Field efficacy studies using three anticoagulant rodenticides were conducted on rat pest of oil palms, at Jakluay Estate (JLYE) PT. Tapian Nadenggan (Sinarmas) Muara Wahau County, Kutai Timur District, Kalimantan Timur Province. Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with two factor was applicated on the trial, that is three anticoagulant rodenticides and bait place position. Baiting manner with campaign method, one bait per palm, check and replenish bait points at every 4 days interval until 20 % replacement.? Relative efficacies of various rodenticides and their bait place position were determined by recording pre and post control census for about two months (8 weeks), based on the number of bait eaten accumulation, rat mortality, and the percentage of ?fresh damage to fruit bunches.? The results showed that the relative efficacies (control success) rate of bromadiolone (0,005% ?in the wax cake) place under oil palm canopy was highest, followed by brodifacoum (0.005%, ready mix block) place under oil palm canopy and coumatetralyl (0,0375% in the wax cake), place under oil palm canopy, but the bait place on the leaf midrib were ineffective.??Keywords: ?Field efficacy, brodifacoum, bromadiolone, coumatetralyl, rat pest, oil palm.

Abstract

The average production of sugar is 2.26 million tons per year, while consumption is about 5.10 million tons per year. This is what causes the number of production and consumption of sugar shows a fairly high gap. Extensification approach in increasing sugar cane production to achieve sugar self sufficiency target is quite difficult to achieve, so intensification program is one of the efforts that can be done through evaluation and optimization phase of germination and plant growth with application of growth regulator (Fitohormon). If this is done then to obtain a sugar cane plant that has the productivity and optimal yield is likely to be achieved (Ahmad Khuluq and Ruly Hamida, 2014). The experiment was conducted at Experimental Garden of Agriculture Faculty, Merdeka University, April-June 2017. Using Randomized Block Design with 3 replications. and 8 doses of Hormax growing growth regulator, among others: 0 ml/l water (Control); 1 ml/l water; 2 ml/l water; 3 ml/l water; 4 ml/l water; 5 ml/l water; 6 ml/l water; 7 ml/l water. In conclusion, the use of Hormax significantly affected the germination rate, the number of leaves, the number of roots, the wet weight and the dry weight per cane plant. Increased dose of Hormax followed by an increase in all variables of sugar cane observation. The highest results were shown dose of Hormax 7 ml/l water), but statistically not significantly different from the treatment dose of Hormax 6 ml/l water) and dose of Hormax 5 ml/l water. It is recommended that to assist the germination and early growth of sugar cane using a dose of Hormax 5 ml/l water.?Keywords : Dose, growth hormax, sugar cane

Abstract

Lettuce is a type of vegetables that are favored by Indonesian. Lettuce is usually served as fresh vegetables. The leaves contain of vitamin A, vitamin B, and vitamin C. The research aims to determine the effect of various compositions growing medium with addition of goat urine on growth and yield of lettuce. The research was conducted in Maguwoharjo Yogyakarta, from November 2016 to January 2017. Completely Randomized Design (CRD) factorial consisting of two factors was applied as experimental design. The first factor was growing media consisting of four levels, namely M1 (soil), M2 (soil+compost), M3 (soil+charcoal rice husk), M4 (soil+compost+charcoal rice husk). The second factor was dosage of goat urine consisting of four levels, namely D0 (0 ml, NPK was applied), D1 (50 ml), D2 (100 ml), and D3 (150 ml). Analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Least Significance Difference (LSD), both with significance level of 5%, were then used to find out whether significant differences among treatments, were existed. The result showed that there was an interaction between treatments in plant height. The best combination was M3 (soil+charcoal rice husk) and D0 (0 ml/NPK). The compositions of growing media were significantly affected in number of leaves, fresh weight of plant, and fresh weight of upper part of plant. The best growing medium was M2 (soil+compost). The application of goat urine showed the same effect on growth and yield of lettuce. Goat urine can replace NPK (plant fertilizer) on growth and yield of lettuce.?Keywords: Growth and yield, lettuce, growing medium, goat urine
