Abstract

This research was motivated by the low mathematical problem-solving ability of the seventh grade students of Al-Falah Islamic Junior High School Jambi. This research is a quasi-experimental study with Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design design and a pattern that is all students of Al-Falah Islamic Middle School in the academic year 2017/2018. Sampling used purposive sampling, which is a sample consisting of three classes namely class VII.1, VII.2 and VII.4 where the given sample is different. The instruments used in this study are teaching materials and mathematical solution ability tests. The research data were analyzed using non parametric Kruskal Wallis H. statistical results. The results showed that there were differences faced by students who studied with two types of Two Stay-Two Stray (TS-TS), Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning models, and models conventional learning. After further using the Games-Howell test, the differences in the TS-TS class and PBL class then become PBL classes and Conventional classes.Keywords: Mathematical problem solving ability, Two stay-Two Stray (TS-TS), Problem Based Learning (PBL).

Abstract

Abstract: Products developed in the form of Student Worksheet (LKS) mathematics on the number material for SMP class VII with problem based learning model. The development model used is the ADDIE model consists of several stages: Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Validation was done by 2 material experts, design experts and media experts. The Student Working Sheet (LKS) developed was tested in 3 stages, one to one learner with 3 subjects, small group trial try-out) with the subject of 6 students, field trial (field try-out) with the subject of 36 students. The results showed that the Student Worksheet (LKS) problem based on problem based learning based on the assessment: 1) the material experts obtained the average total of 3.98 included in the category of "Good" and if the percentage get 80% value so that included in the category " Valid ". 2) design experts obtained an average total of 4.00 which is included in the category of "Good" and in percent get the value of 80% so that included in the category "Valid". 3) media experts obtained an average total of 4.83 which is included in the category of "Very Good" and in percent score 97% so that included in the category of "Very Valid". Student assessments were conducted in 3 stages: 1) individual trials obtained an average total of 4.55 that belonged to the category of "Very Good" and in percent score of 91% so that included "Very Valid" category, 2) small group trial obtained total average of 4.65 which belongs to the category of "Very Good" and in percent get 93% value so that the category "Very Valid", 3) field trial obtained the average total 4.64 which belongs to the category "Very Good" and in percent score of 92% so it belongs to the category of "Very Valid". Thus, Student Worksheet (LKS) based on problem based learning on the number material in class VII is declared valid and practical so feasible to be used in the learning process by teachers and junior high school students especially material number.Keywords: Development, Student Worksheet (LKS), Problem Based Learning, ADDIE.

Abstract

Habits of Mind memiliki peranan penting dalam proses pembelajaran dan perkembangan individu dalam memecahkan masalah. Kebiasaan ini yang menjadi akar kekuatan siswa dalam melatih kemampuan mereka dalam menemukan solusi dari permasalahan yang dihadapi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil habits of mind mahasiswa prodi pendidikan matematika. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian adalah mahasiswa prodi pendidikan matematika FKIP UNBARI. Sampel terdiri dari 33 orang yang dipilih secara stratified random. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket HoM yang disebar secara online. Analisis data dilakukan secara kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa habits of mind mahasiswa berada pada kategori baik dengan persentase 75,39% Kata kunci :Habits of Mind, Profil

Abstract

This research is qualitative descriptive research. Purpose of this research is to describe student?s mistake in doing exercise in hypotheses testing material, regression and correlation analysis, and probability basic concept in statistics subject and probability. Sample  in this research is student in program study of information and technology management of UPI ?YPTK? Padang in second semester academic year of 20162. Data collecting method is using a test by going exercise about hypotheses testing material, regression and analysis and correlation, and probability basic concept. Type of  the exercise is descriptive, then student?s answer analyzed to find mistake made by student?s in doing these exercise. Mistake that would be analyzed are common mistakes and mostly more by students in answer the question about hypotheses testing, regression and correlation, and probability basic concept. Based on the research result, it can be concluded : (1) Students did not make interpretation toward the result gathered after finish doing exercise about hypotheses testing (2) There was an inclination of students to make mistakes in substituting the result value into a term in doing exercise about regression analysis material and correlation (3)Students make mistakes in seeing credibility interval table and in doing exercise About probability basic concept.Keywords : Mistakes Analysis, Statistics and Probability, UPI ?YPTK? Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa antara yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Conecting Organizing Reflecting Extending (CORE) dan model pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan rancangan penelitian menggunakan desain eksperimen Posttest Only Control Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 15 Kota Jambi yang terdiri dari delapan kelas. Sedangkan sampelnya adalah siswa kelas VIII D sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII H sebagai kelas kontrol yang diambil secara random sampling. Teknik analisis data menggunakan Uji t. Hasil diperoleh dari hasil analisis data yang dilakukan pada dua sampel diperoleh nilai rata-rata kemampuan koneksi matematis kelas eksperimen 16,43 dengan simpangan baku 11,94 dan nilai rata-rata kemampuan koneksi matematis kelas kontrol 14,28 dengan simpangan baku 11,93, serta hasil uji hipotesis diperoleh  2,32 dan  1,67 pada taraf nyata  yaitu 0,05. Dari hasil perhitungan tersebut terlihat bahwa  lebih besar dari , maka  ditolak dan  diterima. Berdasarkan hasil akhir dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Conecting Organizing Reflecting Extending (CORE) lebih tinggi dari pada kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional. Kata kunci :Kemampuan Koneksi Matematis, Model Pembelajaran Conecting Organizing Reflecting Extending (CORE), Model Pembelajaran Konvensional.

Abstract

The establishment of this Garbage Bank aims to be an educational financing strategy that is accompanied by community awareness of environmental hygiene. In an effort to get direct benefit from garbage, in the form of waste saving which is directed to finance the education of children of Bhakti Idaman village community. So that the immediate benefits felt by the community are not only clean, healthy and comfortable environment but also human resource development which is expected to be able to manage community life well in the future. The method that will be done is 1) To socialize the establishment of BSI through education of household based waste management system, by giving rewards or benefit. 2) Establish a BSI management consisting of environmental activists, environmental cadres and communities and supporting parties (village government etc. 3) Training BSI managers through administrative management education and structural management patterns as well as designing BSI activities and sustainability. 4) Preparing the completeness of BSI which is consumables and administrative completeness. 5) Search for garbage buyers. 6) Promote the establishment of BSI through schools that have established cooperation, village government, activities undertaken by BSI and other ways that are considered strategic. 7) Performing waste saving services that benefitnya given in the form of savings education and financial savings family. 8) Monitoring and evaluation is conducted every two months to monitor progress and evaluate BSI performance. The result of this activity is the establishment of a household-based BSI with the benefits of education savings and family financial savings.Keywords: BSI, Education Savings.

Abstract

Penelitianbertujuanmengetahuikemampuanpemecahan masalah matematis ditinjau dari gaya kognitif field dependent dan field independent pada siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Kota Jambi Tahun Ajaran 2017-2018 yang berjumlah 198 siswa. Subjek yang diambil dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 6 orang, yaitu 3 siswa dengan gaya kognitif field dependent dan 3 siswa siswa dengan gaya kognitif field independent. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode angket tes gaya kognitif, tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan pedoman wawancara. Data yang diperlukan diperoleh melalui tes pemecahan masalah matematis, dan pedoman wawancara yang telah diuji terlebih dahulu melalui uji pendapat validator, data tes angket gaya kognitif telah baku tanpa diuji cobakan oleh pendapat validator. Teknik analisis data  yaitu meliputi (1) reduksi data, (2) pemaparan data, dan (3) penarikan kesimpulan serta digunakan triangulasi waktu. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis antara keenam subjek pada langkah menyelesaikan masalah dan mengecek kembali, yaitu subjek FI dalam menyelesaikan masalah sesuai rencana dan mengecek kembali hasil yang diperoleh lebih baik dibandingkan subjek FD dalam menyelesaikan masalah dan mengecek kembali hasil.Hal ini terlihat dari jawaban subjek dan indicator pemecahan masalah matematis, kemudian terlihat dari jawaban tes wawancara berdasarkan tahapan Polya. Kata Kunci:Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis, Gaya Kognitif Field Dependent dan Field Independent.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas VII SMP Negeri 6 Kota Jambi Tahun Ajaran 2017/2018. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan simple random sampling sedangkan sampel penelitian yang terambil adalah kelas VII C dan VII D, dimana dua kelas sampel ini diberikan perlakuan yang berbeda. Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbandingan rata-rata hasil siswa yang menerapkan Model Pembelajaran Creative Problem Solving (CPS) dan Model Pembelajaran Langsung. Dari hasil penelitian yang dilakukan Post-test nilai rata-rata untuk kelas Eksperimen adalah 63 dengan simpangan baku 21,71 dan kelas kontrol rata-ratanya adalah 53,66 dengan simpangan baku 22,01 Serta dari hasil uji Hipotesisnya diperoleh thitung sebesar 1,801 dan ttabel sebesar 1,67 pada taraf nyata 0,05. Dari hasil perhitungan itu terlihat bahwa thitung lebih besar dari ttabel maka H1 diterima. Berdasarkan hasil akhir dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang menggunakan Model pembelajaran Creative Problem Solving (CPS) lebih baik dari pada siswa yang menggunakan Model pembelajaran Langsung pada siswa kelas VII SMPN 6 Kota Jambi Tahun Ajaran 2017/2018. Kata Kunci :Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis, Model Pembelajaran Creative Problem Solving (CPS)

Abstract

Abstract: Math is able to train logical, analytical, systematic, critical, and creative thinking of students. Mathematical critical thinking ability is a capability that supports a variety of other mathematical thinking abilities. The students' critical thinking ability is also closely related to the personality or character of the student. Personality can affect how a person behaves, thinks, or interacts with around. The personality types discussed in this study are examined from four types of temperaments by the theories of Hippocrates and Galenus. This research includes the type of qualitative research that uses descriptive qualitative research methodology. This research will be conducted on the students of class XI MIA SMA Negeri 2 Kota Jambi. The thing described in this research is the students' mathematical critical thinking based on the dominant personality type on linear program solution. The results of personality tests of the instrument adapted from the patterns of personality by Lana Bateman found 40 dominant students that is the type of phlegmatic personality. Furthermore, based on sampling technique that is purposive sampling technique, 2 students are taken as research subjects ie phlegmatic students with the highest level of critical thinking ability called first phlegmatic students and phlegmatic students with the lowest level of critical thinking ability is called second phlegmatic student. From the results obtained can be concluded that the first phlegmatic students have the level of critical thinking skills are very critical and the second phlegmatic students have a critical level of critical thinking is not critical. This is inversely between the ability to think critically and the type of phlegmatic personality. The first phlegmatic student with enough phlegmatic category has critical critical mathematical thinking and the second phlegmatic student with very high / dominant phlegmatic category, critical critical thinking ability is not critical.Keywords: Mathematical Critical Thinking Ability, Four Temperament Types

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas VII SMP N 14 Kota Jambi yang disebabkan oleh kurangnya pemahaman siswa terhadap pembelajaran yang kurang optimal dari siswa yang tidak paham terhadap matematika. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran Creative Problem Solving (CPS) dan model pembeajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) di Kelas VII SMP N 14 Kota Jambi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi eksperimen dengan desain Nonequivalent Postest-Only Control Group Design. Populasi yang digunakan adalah seluruh siswa SMP N 14 Kota Jambi tahun ajaran 2018/2019. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas, eksperimen dan kontrol dengan teknik cluster random sampling.
